Risk factions again?!?!?!?! I swear, this game must have been on sale the most in the history of xbla sales.
At what point does it quit being a 'sale' and start being a price drop? Risk factions now 'on sale' for 400msp until the end of time...
Love that both the Dead Rising 2 DLCs are on sale. I knew if I held out long enough they'd be discounted!
You can find out here: Just Cause 2

None of them have any history. Click on each add-on and check the bottom of each add-on page. All of them have an empty table where sale and price drop history would be.

Thanks.

I got Dead Rising 2: Case Zero at release simply because 400 MSP for a full game was a steal. At 200 points, there's no reason to say no.

I might go ahead and pick up Case West as well.
A little too late for me to pick up the Castlevania DLC. I would have jump months ago but now I doubt the community still exists.
If gamefaqs is anything to go by it does. The board for this game is pretty much always active. I wouldn't know though as I just play solo. It's still fun that way but in much more grinding way.

It's basically like when I first played Diablo on the playstation. Hiding behind walls killing one succubus at a time....good times.

I got Castlevania HD about a month and 1/2 ago and i thought for a game that was so niche and almost a year old that online was going to suck, but EST prime times (6pm to 1am) doesn't seem hard AT ALL to get into a game, especially for chapter 6,9,10,11. i don't know about 7,8 don't own those... but starting your own group seems to fill up fast. i don't know i don't play that many online games on XBLA just SSF4 and MVC3 but this game seems like people send quite a few friend request and i've gotten quite a few invites into groups when i hop online... not from complete scrubs either.

If I didn't like the first Dead Rising, are the two XBLA titles more of the same or are there improvements? I might consider Case West since it looks like it has co-op in it though.

i think i own everything i'm slightly interested in on xbla. (or else there's been nothing good in weeks) the last thing i bought was trials dlc and before that it was pac-man ce dx.

i forgot about x-men arcade, that was a pleasant surprise.

reddjoey, thanks so much for maintaining such a great thread. I have it bookmarked and it is so convenient. Not only do you post the deals but you post a ton of other useful info. Thanks bro!

Does anyone have any opinions on Harmony of Despair. I am not sure if I want it. I love Castlevania titles.

edit: I was just watching the Giantbomb quicklook and he said if you die you start over. Does that mean start ALL THE WAY over? That sounds frustrating.
Isn't Outland and NinJump 2 supposed to be out today? I was all psyched for some Ninjump 2...
Both are online now.

Anyone else having trouble buying Trouble Witches Neo? I can download the trial, but it gives me an error saying it can't retrieve the info from Live when I try to get the full game.

I just checked & I get an error on Xbox.com as well.

to be honest, I only played the demo of Case Zero and purchased Case West. I can't imagine the the gameplay will be any different for you. The only reason I didn't pick up DR2/CZ is because I didn't like the storyline (girl). killing zombies will get repetitive after awhile, but seems fun in small doses.

FYI: DR2 has co-op as well, both DR2 and CW are online coop only (no local co-op).

I haven't tried but I've seen other people report the same problem so it's not just you.

+1

I'm having problems too

I had trouble buying Banjo Kazooie yesterday but eventually it worked when I tried it a few hours later.

For everyone talking about the Dead Rising CZ and CW, keep a couple of things in mind:

Since they are independent arcade games they have trials. You get a pretty good feel for Case Zero with the trial, can't speak for Case West. But you'll know whether or not you'll enjoy the XBLA game from the Case Zero trial for sure; if you enjoy the game then I would say you may enjoy the full game, and Case West.

As for whether or not it will be on the re-release of DR2... My hunch would be no for a couple of reasons: first being that it isn't a platinum hits or game of the year, etc. version, it is a what if they game had featured the main character of the first game with some changes to the gameplay and a new area. Second, since each of these arcade games is over 1 gig if I'm not mistaken, and they would have to essentially "run independently" of the main game, even re-using some assets I imagine that's probably 1-1.5 gigs of storage space devoted just to the 2 XBLA games; I'm guessing there wasn't that much space left on the disc. Just a guess though.

If you die, you just either have to wait for someone to revive you or for everyone to either finish the level or all die. The levels aren't that long since most people power through them. So to answer your question, you don't start over.

Why aren't they putting the characters on sale as well during the Castlevania sale? I'd buy them all but now knowing the stages are going on sale I suspect the characters will as well. I can wait for them. I really enjoyed C:HoD but the prices for the DLC are fucking stupid.

Also going to check out Nin2-Jump demo and if it's Cave quality I'm in.
Any opinions on the costumes for DR2? Do they help in any significant way with the psycho boss battles?
Same here. I wonder if they really help?
Same here. I wonder if they really help?
i own the ninja and psycho packs. the ninja is really the most helpful, zombies take notice to you A LOT less. for escorts its almost like a cheat code its so helpful. the psycho is mostly to look cool, bonus damage to melee weapons that are serial killer esque. not that great. the soldier pack i dont have but i would imagine would come in handy in many boss fights, especially certain ones with high powered weapons that plauge a general area of the mall..... its a dollar! do it. i almost did but i dont own DR2 anymore and cant see myself getting back into it until the frank edition comes out.
Been waiting for SOTN to drop in price for months now!
I will be buying this tonight.
Might want to wait since it's going on sale next week.

DOH! I just saw it listed and got excited. I didn't see the date. :bouncy:

If I've started to play the case west before the zero and main game how much of the story have I spoiled? I couldn't hold out on not doing coop with the game and am curious.
Well, guess I'll try again every 1/2 hour or so until it works.

Uh Oh do you think Xbox Live may be ....compromised ? :ps3:
If I've started to play the case west before the zero and main game how much of the story have I spoiled? I couldn't hold out on not doing coop with the game and am curious.
You won't spoil anything for Case Zero, but you will for DR2. The setting itself is a bit of a spoiler, but not bad. Most of the story spoilers are in the opening cut scene and before/after the boss fight. You can choose to skip the cut scenes if want and still enjoy Case West.

As a fan of the older Castlevania titles, HD was a game I was really excited about leading up to its release, but the structure of the game and multiplayer heavy focus turned me away from a day 1 purchase. At 600 points I'm really tempted to pull the trigger, but all that DLC totaling more than the base cost of the game is making me hesitant again. I don't have any friends who play the game and I'm not super interested in playing with randoms. Is it worth it for just the single player experience or should I not even bother? Are there any particular DLC levels that are more worthwhile than the others or do you pretty much need them all?
Uh Oh do you think Xbox Live may be ....compromised ? :ps3:
no.. But my ps3 account was the same day of the 'hack' my linked gmail account was hacked from china-same date, changed my credit card info, etc. fraud alert on credit agency. Man this sucks..

Nin2-Jump is out today along with a few other games but for 400 ms points ($5) I purchased Nin2. It's a quick and fun game to play made by Cave. Also, I think something like 100% of the proceeds go to relief in Japan so it's more of a reason to buy it if you were on the fence.

I hate to say this, but if you really don't have any buddies to co-op this with (or don't feel like playing online with random peeps) then I'd highly suggest -against- Harmony of Despair. The game's big redeeming quality is the ability to play with friends for a fun coop experience. If you remove that, it's really just a platforming Castlevania themed grindfest.

There's issues with buying the full game of Trouble Witches Neo?!?!? I guess I can wait until it's fixed, trial was really fun and I enjoyed it

At least I got Nin2-Jump to play today :D

Yes, it's a known issue that MS is currently trying to fix.

Question - Outland looks like it might be worth full price...... what say CAG on the matter?

I think it's a Ubisoft game (?). If I'm not mistaken they are notorious for fast price drops on their disc based games. That being the case I plan to wait for a sale in the near future.

Is it worth $10? I've heard a lot of good things and will be trying the demo myself soon but I'll almost assuredly wait for a sale.

Outland is amazing....if you liked Shadow Complex....this will be up your alley!

That does suck, I haven't noticed anything unusual yet but I will definitely keep a watch on things .
fuck!!! the Dead Rising 2 DLC is not working for me, US account Living in Mex
If you purchased the costume DLC you have to go to the bathroom in the safe area where your daughter is and change your clothes in there. None of it shows up in your inventory elsewhere.

The Free versions of the outfits do not give you the clothes, they only allow you to see it if you're playing co-op with someone else who has bought it. One last note you only need 1 piece of an outfit on in order to get the effects of it. So you can buy all 4 outfits and wear a piece of each and get all the dlc perks.

Where did you hear this? I may purchase with proceeds going to Japan.

Castlevania HD is an absolutely horrible single player experience but if you are a big fan off mmo style gameplay its sooo worth it. and the price is amazing. i grindfests are not always bad and surprisingly very few terrible randoms ( except me, beware.) I think its because mostly really dedicated play a lot.

If anyone does get this fresh... DO NOT pick Jonathan if you want a whip user buy Richter. I wish someone told me earlier... no one to survival grind with.

It was mentioned earlier in this thread and I believe the source is their own website. I'm too lazy to find a link to it directly on their english site (if there is one?) but here's a quick googled link to destructiod's article about the game's release.
