Any recommendations for Moon Diver? I have a hefty arcade backlog plus a retail backlog and these AAA games coming out
Sure thing...

If you like platformers with lots of grinding like Castlevania: HotD and Hard Corps: Uprising, Moon Diver is a great buy. The game doesn't explain its mechanics/secrets to you very well, but there are Achievement guides and such on the net for that. Going through the levels looking for secret exits and MC techniques (spells) is pretty enjoyable. Killing enemies/grinding to level up is pretty fun too - max out your ATK and you get really buff. Four player online's good too.

I think I was just sold on this game...
Moon Diver? I played the trial alone but coop looks really fun, hope the online community isn't dead

Yeah, I was just sold on it watching the trailer. I'll try out the demo, and if I like it, I'll go ahead and buy it.

I pulled the trigger on Outland and Moon Diver. I'm certain I'll get enough for my buck outta each of them with my buddy. I've a feeling Outland will be cheaper at some point, perhaps even during this holiday season, but not so sure on Moon Diver.

I'm still considering Trouble Witches and Monday Night Combat. Anyone care to sway me one way or another? How is Trouble Witches in comparison to Deathsmiles, and is there still and active enough community on MNC to justify the purchase?

Moon Diver would have to get a lot better than the demo for me to consider buying it. A LOT.

Deathsmiles vs. Trouble Witches? They're similar, but not. It's hard to beat... gah, I have trouble joining the ranks of the fanboys on this... it's HARD. TO. BEAT. CAVE... there, got it out... when it comes to shump polish and variety, but TWN is good fun too. I think I could say I had more fun on even in TWN than DS but it's still a tossup. I would vote... and this is a toughie... don't pass on either, especially since DS is down to reasonable shump tier prices.

And BCR2 still feels like a watery mess. I can't decide if maybe I'm burnt out on the BC franchise or if it's that BCR2's level design is several steps worse than BCR1. I'm about 50/50 trying to suss it out.

I'm a CAG from Mexico and i have to say that i didn't use to buy many MS points, mostly because I had to drive 30 min to the next city to get to one blockbuster/gamerush only for MS points but now thanks to 7-Eleven stores in my country now i can go get a 1500 MS points card (yes, they give us 100 less points per card here :/) as easy as going for my morning coffe :).

I've been buying points like crazy last month, i got enough to get the GoW 3 Season pass and got Ilomilo in the last DotW. This time i got Outland, The Maw and BC: Rearmed and i'm very satisfied with my purchases :D... Btw i missed the one day sale (shame on me :S) but i'll download the Torchlight demo and wait silently for anonther deal on it because you guys say it's great.

Last but not least i would aprecciate if anybody can answer me this question:

What about Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie? Have they ever been on sale? Man i used to love those games back when i was a kid in the N64 days and i would really love to get them but $15 is way too much of an MSRP for each of them for me.I would gladly pay like $7.50 for them. Perfect Dark is normally $10 and i got it for $5 in last Xmas deals.

PD: I would like to see a deal on Beyond Good and Evil HD, Stacking and Costume Quest in the future (YOU HEAR ME MS??? *shakes fist*)

Kazooie I know has been a few times. Tootie I think once. Each time they were on sale I believe it was half off.

Banjo Kazooie was on sale from April 26 – May 2 for 600 points. No idea about Tooie

Stacking and Costume Quest have both been on sale already for 600 points if memory serves. I bought Costume Quest in December and Stacking went on sale for the same a few months ago. I would guess they are likely to go on sale again, but when?

Also, just wanted to say that I'm having a blast with Torchlight and that I found a pair of Chronogear boots. I'm in love. Anyone know how I can complete the set before it becomes useless to me? Will vendors carry it? Can they be forced to change their inventory (ie: zoning in and out of the dungeons) or do they change based on time or possibly randomly? I want this full set!! NOWZ!!

Carcassonne
Catan
Magic 2012
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's
Battleship

Those look to be whats on sale this week though no price. I Can pass on all and I thank God for this break.

Biting on Catan if people have a decent opinion of it. I have the board game but if the XBLA version is good and on sale... well.... damn this website.

edit: Bleh, no offline multiplayer? huge miss there.

Bit on Outland and Island of Wakfu for my last minute purchases. After doing some research, I was certain on Outland but was on the fence on Wakfu but decided that 400 points wasn't so bad for something I was somewhat interested in. At least it looks beautiful. Add Torchlight from the one day sale and I'm content with XBLA for a while.

Was hoping for two killer weeks in a row. I already own Catan and Carcassonne and I have the Hasbro Family Game Night disc so I have Battleship too. Magic would have to be 400 msp max for me to have any interest since I have not been able to convince myself to buy the first one the last couple times its been on sale. Ah well, I'll just go back to Torchlight and my newly restored backlog.

Also, not sure if they are still available but you could scoop up Catan codes for ~$2 on eBay a while back. I got mine with Pac-man CE and Poker Smash (I think) for $8.

Is the Yu Gi Oh! game a dodgeball game? I'm assuming the 5D's are Dodge, Dip, Duck, Dive and Dodge...
probably gonna grab Magic then... I enjoyed the original one. Can anyone comment on how different / improved this newer one is?
Got it day one since I enjoyed the original more than I ever thought I would after getting that one on sale. The sequel improves almost everything over the original game. Being able to coop is a cool addition, and the key factor that I like about it most. The puzzles seem tougher to me. The archenemy thing is nice, BUT I will say that you cannot play AS the archenemy unless you get the already released expansion 1 for another 400 points. That could turn some off, but I'll say they added enough in the expansion to make it worthwhile. More campaign, more puzzles, more decks, more cards for the starter decks, and the ability to play as the archenemy really is gonna make this essential, IMO. So, just know it'll put you back 400 additional to whatever it is(I'm guessing 400 but I haven't checked). The only downside to this game, to me, is there's still some game-breaking bugs that kill certain online games. It's kind of random but the online will either work, or it won't, it's awfully finicky. I'd say no more or no less than the original was, so use that as a judge. Also, I prefered the music in the original, but that's just me. This music is far less noticable, as it's pretty slow and quiet, therefore it grew on me far less(well, not at all).

Is Magic 2012 accessible for someone who's never played Magic the Gathering before/never played any similar card games. For example, does the game have a good tutorial and is it the sort of game where it is necessary to first learn a huge number of cards and their rules? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it has a good tutorial. Magic's not too hard to learn, either. 400 Points is a great price.
Carcassonne
Catan
Magic 2012
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's
Battleship

Thanks. I'll try out Catan & Magic 2012. Yu gi oh has been on sale before and passed on it, difficulty killed it and the ai sucks. Battleship been on sale before and I already had it. Magic 2012 went on sale fast, damn.

Looks like some Fallout 3 and New Vegas DLC is on sale for 400 msp each. Also some Oblivion DLC went on sale again. Maybe it'll be a big DLC week? Here's hoping for something new and different.

Yeah, I noticed all that Bethesda DLC and avatar gear on sale, too.

And, knew it was a longshot, but was hoping Catan would be 200.

edit: looks like Bethesda has discounted Doom II & Quake Arena as well.

I've only played a few games of Quake, but I think it's held up pretty well if you have fond memories of that kind of multiplayer from back in the day.

I've added gold price tracking to my site so things are showing up twice, once for the regular price drop and once for the gold price drop. I'll clean up it up in as soon as I can.

Magic: The Gathering 2012 – 400 Points (Local/Online Co-op)

Thanks PenguinJim!
Nice, I have been wanting to pick this up and $5 sounds right.

I think I'll pick up Quake Arena as it's tough to go wrong for 400 points. I haven't played a Quake game since the original, though. You can't beat the ambient Trent Reznor soundtrack and the NIN ammo boxes.

I already have Doom II but haven't gotten around to starting it. I love that it has online co-op. I guess this week is a good one to start this as, hopefully, I'll easily be able to find a co-op partner with the increased traffic.

Also, unrelated to the sale, but lots of time with Torchlight has left me wanting more games in the genre. Does anyone have any thoughts on Crimson Alliance? It looks great but how is the playability? Similar to Torchlight/Diablo?

While I wish it was ALL of the Fallout NV DLC, I will gladly pick up Honest Hearts. Already had Dead Money, which was very good at 800 points and a steal at 400. Bravo!!!!!!

fuck I knew i should of waited to buy Magic. Still I love the game. Ive goteen more than 10+ hours of gameplay from both games. If you like card games then you would be stupid not to get it for $5.

Not a bad day's worth of stuff.

For those even remotely interested, GRAB CATAN. After 5 years, the game still has a relatively lively online community. I wish BHG would just release a new version or some DLC or something. I'd gladly pay $10 for another version of the game.

Carcasonne was once free, if you care about that sort of thing.

Doom, all the Fallout 3 DLC, Elder Scrolls DLC, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Battleship are repeats. Quake is a repeat, but I skipped it last time (me? No way) given the price was still like 800+ points for a game apparently no one was playing. For 400, I'm there.

New ones are: New Vegas DLC, Magic 2012

This is what a weekly sale SHOULD look like.

Sonic Free Riders apparently dropped as well.
Doom is worth the 400 price, is it not?
If you're into old-school FPS's, then definitely. If you're not, it's not going to make you like them.

Yeah I have the 1st and dont really play it anymore because at times it crashes my xbox out of nowhere. Gonna try Quake demo to see if its any good. Did I forget to mention go and buy Magic 2012? Or else. :D
