Yes indeed.
So are the guys who made Limbo but you don't mind wanting to give them less money.
I said I would buy limbo for 400 points, I'd still be paying more than the full price of Air Bands. You have a good point though, I would download Limbo if it was accidentally free.

Joe Danger for 360? I heard only good things about that game, hype get!

Meh, if you want Trials with a much much less serious feel to it then you will enjoy Joe Danger. I played the demo when it was first released and couldn't dig it. That being said, I will still download it should it be the free PS+ game of the month in the future. Then again, I download every single piece of free to PS+ members content. You never know when you might want the content so why not snag it when it's free?
I'm reluctant to put it in the OP as it could be a "mistake"
It's now listed in the Kinect Anniversary sale on the dashboard as free.

It's just a dolla, and I'd hope you'll payay

Yeah, don't "hype get" it if it's the first one, I think you'll be disappointed. I got Joe Danger when it was half off and was not impressed at all, considering how much hype I had heard from it.

However, my guess is that this classification is for the 2nd Joe Danger game that was announced a couple months ago. I'm pretty sure it will be on both PSN and XBLA.

EDIT: I saw the Joystiq post the original poster was refering to, makes it sound like the 1st Joe Danger will be coming to XBLA. I still have my doubts...

Nah I dont really want it. Alot of people say that its the best indie game (Lets not start something). I thought it was 240 MSP and was on sale this week part of shockobter sales week #2. Can anyone comfirm that there will be some more discounted this week?

Super Meat Boy Update and Sale Next Month

Update to add 'tons' of new levels, free of charge

Written by litepink today at 19:30
Developers Team Meat revealed in a blog post some exciting news concerning their XBLA title Super Meat Boy.

To commemorate the game's one year anniversary (which was October 20th if you're sending a card), the game will be receiving an update next month, which will add "tons" more levels in the 'Teh Internets' area. These levels are being added free of charge. What's more, the game will be going on sale sometime in November as well.

Although the levels are free, we only know that it is coming in November, with no exact date set. Same goes with upcoming sale, we no neither

So Super Meat boy goes on sale in November.

Since I didn't see anyone answer this, KMart has it.
So you dont buy from "evilbay" but buy from gamestop, who is just as bad if not more so? nice :shame:
Can't help it, I love GS. I've never had any issues with them, unlike eBay. I used to be an eBay seller but after the way I was treated by both eBay and Paypal after a scammer bought, destroyed, and then tried returning an expensive Transformers set, I'll never use eBay again. eBay was my cash flow, but I'd rather have no money than deal with them.
So I'm kinda confused. Was there a price drop for Haunted House (400 MSP) & Adventures of Shuggy (800 MSP)? Because both games are part of the Shocktober Family sale. I am not aware of their original pricing.
http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Promotion/Shocktober-Family
That's regular price. The Shocktober sale is 2 weeks long so the belief is that the rest of the content listed in the "sale" will go on sale this week.

Hopefully that's the case, but I'm not gonna count on it
Hopefully that's the case, but I'm not gonna count on it
Same line of thinking here. After MS put up 25+ items and only 4 go on sale, not expecting much more. I'd be happy if 5 more items get discounted tomorrow for week 2. Seems like they put up a bunch of Halloween themed items with only 10% off those items on sale in order to get people to buy stuff. Shame on you microsoft *shakes fist*

As an FYI, I have a calc exam in the morning that I am not feeling so good about.

So..... I might be too smashed directly after it to update the OP

God it seems your life is currently centered around school. Are yuo trying to become a doctor, maybe lawyer? Anyways hopefully Plants vs Zombies goes on sale. I really want it for cheap rather than pay for the retail one (Not into zuma and peggle is ok).

School pays the bills (Living off my GI Bill benefits) and I am can't afford to make below a C. I am also really unlucky when it comes to scheduling classes (and had very few options for classes this semester). Currently I have classes M-F. From 9a-11a with Wed being 9a-3p. For some reason, all my profs like to schedule exams the same week.

PvZ is usually better to pick up on disc.

I am just hoping that Grubbins on Ice is on sale. I was a little miffed when I discovered the acheivements for the DLC were prebuilt into the original game (Costume Quest). There is no way to get all of the achievements on the original game without getting the DLC.

Besides, Costume Quest is an AWESOME game and I want to play more!!!!
I Highly recomend it!!!!

Darn, guess the reference to the game went unnoticed. I do not consider it the best indie game on the Live marketplace, far from it. However, due to its low price, I consider it one of the two key twin stick shooters on the 360. The other being Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2. Those two twin stick shooters are the reason I withheld on Zombie Apocalypse when it was on sale all those times, but also the reason I was disapointed in myself for jumping on Gatling Gears when that was 400MSP (a regret purchase of mine even at that price).

Earlier in the thread and the OP, mentioned a confirmation of new weekly "Shocktober" deals. So far, nothing for me yet (already have the Castlevania from a previous sale). If the other channels on that dashboard page are to be believed, Limbo has been on sale for 800MSP and I bit when it was 600MSP; I too agree with others on this thread it is more of a 400MSP title since I feel it is a game played once maybe twice then forgotten due to its mechanics ("I didn't know the platform would fall on me until I got on it" or two similar siuations, they look almost identical, but no pattern is established for a player to 'read' the situation then act appropriately instead it is just memorization). The other title, The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, I personally enjoyed greatly. It came from humble indie game roots and I found myself really enjoying its style, music, and mindless comboing. The main person behind the game also released the game's soundtrack on a "name your price" pricepoint on his studio's website, which guilts me into one day donating something for the songs. I especially loved the track "The Sunken March" it fits so well with the game's badass asskicking. The only other "Shocktober" XBLA title of note is the Bloodrayne game which I KNOW would not be worth 1200MSP for me (even at 800MSP too), and a sub-800MSP pricepoint would make me explore the game.

Also on the Halloween subject, I had thought the DLC for Costume Quest set itself up for further holidays for candy like the cute blossoming romance for Valentine's Day (candies, chocolates!) and maybe Easter (jellybeans, marshmellow peeps, chocolate eggs/bunnies). Yet, earlier on this thread, someone mentioned the main creator left Double Fine, sad news indeed if that is true.

I thought N+ was pretty cool...until I played the demo for Super Meat Boy. Dying should always be that much fun (I have a similar feeling about Limbo). I'll definitely be buying it when it goes on sale.... I only wish SMB had local co-op like N+, so I could enjoy the game with my son (that's not too much blood for a 5 year old, right?...RIGHT?!?!?).

I've personally enjoyed Limbo so far at the 600 msp price point, but mostly from an aesthetic standpoint. The puzzles are clever and the controls are pretty good, but it's the art and mysterious story that really stand out for me.

I don't own a Kinect (yet), but I downloaded Air Band anyway. This is still a great thread!!

They weren't "pre-built," they were added when the DLC came out. That is how DLC based achievements work for every game on the 360. If you 100% a game and then later on a DLC is released with achievements, well...you no longer have a 100% completed game.
Darn, guess the reference to the game went unnoticed.
No, we noticed it. CAG just doesn't let you "like" posts. :D
Can you use XBL points on games that are priced in cash?
Yes. Press "Y" or something else to change to points. xbox.com also lets you change to pints but I forget how.

There's a "Use Microsoft Points" tab on the xbox.com purchase screen.

Well, I signed onto my xbox just now and Kinect Sparkler is 240 msp. What the fuck is this shit Microsoft?? I shoulda bought it Sunday morning when I had the chance to get it at 80 msp :wall:

Guess when I see something that tickles my fancy, I should buy it right away in case MS decides to "alter" their deals :bomb:
I loathe Limbo.

That is all.
The 360 game or the party game? If party game then I'm right there with you.
I loathe Limbo.

Thaaaaank you. Limbo was trash. interesting until you leave the forest at the beginning, then boring as watching paint dry. played like crap too. the only friends i have who like LIMBO is a total hipster who has played it and a friend who was placed in remedial classes in highschool who enjoyed an article on it in game informer.

Lol. LIMBO was fantastic. I can see why'd you say it's boring, but I can't for the life of me figure out how it "played like crap". The controls were simple, yet refined and the puzzles had me thinking. The game isn't even close to bad, it's just not your cup of tea.

Yeah totally not understanding the hate for limbo. Is it because all the hype it received before and after it was released? I paid full price and didn't regret it.

I don't think it lived up to the MASSIVE hype it received. But it controlled excellently and the puzzles worked great for what they were. Just because it wasn't as amazing as the video game media made it out to be doesn't make it "trash".

Unless its an announced, explicit sale promoted by Xbox with known beginning and end dates, jump all over any price drops you deem worthy of your hard earned Microsoft points.

Some people on the internet, such as Taylort and maybe the guy he was agreeing with, only speak in hyperbole. Thus because something isn't the maximum level of quality, it becomes the worst thing in existence. While the use of poetic conventions is admirable in a way, really it just diminishes what they're saying and makes them seem trollish and silly.

With that said, trial and error gameplay (such as I always hear Limbo uses) is actually bad design IMO.

I paid 800 MSP for Limbo around New Year's, and while it was a bit short I thought it was a fine game. Enjoyed the puzzles, thought the bleak atmosphere was cool. I didn't really get caught up in the minimalist story, but it didn't really detract from my experience with the core game.

QFT. Best post ever!

:)lol:)

Limbo sucked. The puzzles were painfully easy. The black and white silent art-style was all atmosphere, zero substance, and most definitely a cheap and easy way to fill out those departments without actually requiring artistic or musical talent. Absolutely no story was told to speak of. I'd accept all that were the gameplay anything to write home about but it was not. Not one puzzle was clever, not even the gravity twisting stuff toward the end. Every one was a tedious slog of block pushing or otherwise painfully dull waddling.

It was not especially awful but on Newgrounds it would not stand up, much less asking $15 and getting so much, SO SO MUCH undeserved praise, (I can't really rage about "Limbo is art" nonsense here because nobody actually enunciated that.) not to mention its detrimental effects on indie gaming by setting examples far, far worse than the imagined CoD boogeyman.

It was not especially incompetent. It was just there. Lifeless, dull, unimaginative, unimpressive, uninteresting apart from the aura of unjustified smug self-confidence around it. I can understand people who might consider it not a total waste of time but "Good" and "Worth $15" are simply two ways to describe it I cannot comprehend. It's so polarizing though that we're always going to be ping-ponging back and forth if we argue Limbo.

Every now and then it's nice to be able to agree with you on something RollingSkull. This is precisely how I felt about Limbo. Way overhyped/overpraised for being a boring game.
So do the Halo maps sale expire tomorrow or dues it run through the end of the month?
They were last week's deal of the week. They expire any time now. If you want them grab them RIGHT NOW if they are still on sale. Usually M$ doesn't flip the switch till the morning so you should still have time but I wouldn't wait any longer if you want them. The new DotW is already showing up on xbox.com (Dead Rising stuff).
So do the Halo maps sale expire tomorrow or dues it run through the end of the month?
Nope. Sale ends tonight/tomorrow, so if you want those maps, move it now!

They're part of the dotw so they'll change back to regular price within the next 6-12 hours or so.

So if you're wanting them I'd buy them asap.
