Ok, for example, Someone that just teleport uppercuts 80% of the time. Sure it's stopable. But it's also not fun.

Maybe I'm just too picky about my opponents playing style, but I just prefer my opponent to beat me with variety. Maybe online fighting games aren't for me :)

you have to think ahead. see what situation prompts the guy to use the teleport. find some way to fake him out into doing the teleport, be ready, block, uppercut. done.

he'll stop using the teleport and fight regularly or not and you win.

depends on who i'm using

like if i'm using kano i'll do hp, choke, ball - free 40% after you do that a couple times they stop

but yea i guess i know what you mean i get tired playing smokes just bc its so easy i'd rather be challenged

No, I'm the same way, but I finally found a way to beat him (above)

anyway this will all stop (hopefully) when the people who just want the 100 wins achievement stop playing
 
Hey I have a question.

Is it possible for me and my friend--who both have an XBL account on the same system, to go on into say a 4 player room and battle with 2 others??

Smoke is pretty easy to handle

I'm honestly having a bit of trouble w/ Sindels online, only because i'm not really used to fighting her

thrustbucket, who are you using? Me or a fellow CAG could hook you up w/ a combo to punish the guy with after the blocked teleport uppercut.

With Jax you can easily high punch, and then do his Gotcha grab (F, F + LP).

If you have the timing down, you can also double high punch and then do his double rocket projectile (F, F, B, B + HP {I think that's the notation})
 
Oh man, as I'm reading this thread it's just KILLING me that I don't have a 360 yet. People who know the game inside out have already given the 360 version their blessing, I was waiting on their opinion more than anything else because I knew none of the usual review sites would know what they were talking about.

If all goes according to plan I could have a 360 by the end of November... if that happens I'll go ahead and add all of you people, because I am itching for some UMK3 action!!! I've become so used to the glitchy sound on MAME too, so this should be glorious.

Anyway you should check out ultimatemk.com for all sorts of info and some really advanced character guides. Those people know what the heck they're talking about!

You better just go get a loan because by the end of november, so many good games will be out that there may not be many of us still playing. :)

Haha yea, I was thinking the same thing.

I can definitely see interest in this tapering off in November... not a whole lot of people play Street Fighter 2 anymore.
 
This shit is a tad on the frustrating side, fueling my digitial anger.

Every time I can't get past Jade, I turn my PS2 on and play some Armageddon.

And it's sad, too... I remember being a savant at this game. I probably need more practice.
 
If they had only added some practice features to this game, and a moves list, or maybe even a tutorial.... It's ratings would be in the 9+ range (at least in my book). It cries out for those things like a rape victim in a vacant parking lot.

I'm doing MUCH better with Kabal now that I practiced with him than I ever did with Smoke. I tried out the stick rather than the d-pad and it works much better. I got used to it and I don't have to worry about his tornado spin not working anymore. I went from 10 ranked wins to 31 in about 45 minutes.

Also, I don't know how this TrueSkill system works. Ironically I was ranked right above mamesj, (Apossum on the boards, I think) and he has way more wins than I do. Somehow we have the same rank, though.

I got this tonight and played a ton online.. so much fun. Fast paced and ridiculous, the best way for online games to be. The randper kombat is the best. I'm Son of A Beep if you guys wanna add me for some KAG action!

I've noticed people that play striker are a lot like people that play kabal. Spam bombs and do his stun dash. The end.

And I have a new idea for an online game mode. Random character only.
 
I played pretty bad last night but still over .500 for record. Sometimes I just do the stupid things over and over. It is really annoying when I screw myself over. I got about 40 more wins until 100.
 
any word on an update to the game? Every time I try and join Trakan to play a game my screen always goes black and I disconnect (usually by the time I finally have my headset plugged in).

I don't really understand what the problem is either. I haven't had any problems like that with anyone else. Maybe it's a router confliction or something weird like that. Maybe we should try having you make the room next time and you can invite us.
 
i actually tried to do a random select and the start menu just came up..is it done differently?

i actually like when ppl use smoke because most of the time ill pick him too and woop them... i get scared when the oddballs are picked

it's cool i'm like 300-40 and i'm ranked 17000+ (in versus challenger)

but in versus challenger weekly i'm around 270-30 and i'm ranked 30th

No, it works, but you have to knock him down first... then you'll hit him once he'll duck and the process repeats until he is KO'ed
