XBLIG Price Drops

CAGiversary!

Since Microsoft recently changed their pricing structure for Xbox Indies, larger games can can now be sold for 80 MSP. As a result, many XBLIG devs have opted to drop the price of their games. I thought it would be pretty cool to have a thread that would try to track what WORTHWHILE games are now cheaper.

DISCLAIMER: Yes, I know that Xbox Indies is a largely horrifying wasteland of shovelware and absolute garbage like "Avatar Zombie Massager" and "Look I Made a One Level Platformer with MS Paint!!!". (There's really no need to elaborate on it further, we all know this.) But there ARE some good games in the pile. And I'd like to keep the thread focused on those, if possible.

DISCLAIMER 2 (The More Important One):
Xbox Live Indie Games require an internet connection to start the game. It doesn't matter if you have a Silver (Free) or Gold account, just that the Xbox is connected to the internet. Again, this is only to start the game; once the game is running you can disconnect your Xbox, but not sign out of your profile.

also, Gabrius... im cougarman21 on gamefaqs

thank you for the bloody checkers recommendation, having a blast with it.

Sine Mora kinda sucked hard though, compared to other shmups available

Sale is for ONE WEEK... confirmed via zeboyd's twitter

till september 5th

Ah, good to know!

As for Sine Mora... yeah. It's one of the weaker XBLA shmups. If you're looking for a realy good hori on the Marketplace, nothing beats Trouble Witches NEO!

...shame, too. Sine Mora has a lot of potential - just did a few things wrong.
...just be sure to change the voices to Japanese before you begin, unless you need a good laugh, that is ^_^
The english voice overs are horrible!! Also, Luca is a great DLC to pick up if you want to get the 1cc achievement. Great game overall, my first hori shmup on XBLA.
Wizorb is now 80MSP.
Hell yea. I'm glad to see this thread again and glad to hear of this deal. In for it.

Thanks for the Wizorb heads up....I grabbed it. Now if only that Barack Obama/Samurai game went on sale....I cannot remember what its a called...

Tempura of the Dead... and it's still 240.

Still waiting on a deal for Downtown Dodgeball Smash. Is it still the most expensive indie game at $10? I don't think anything else is more expensive.

I've had my finger hovering over this one forever... the fact that the same guys who made Super Dodgeball did this one makes me want it even more.

....but 800MSP is too steep for an indie, IMHO.

I've been eyeing Murder Miners today... how's the community?

Also, anything been marked down lately?

Spylon, if you ever see this: how's about adding XBLiG's to your site.... please?

Avatar Football just launched today for 240 MSP ($3) and it is unexpectedly awesome:

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Avatar-Football/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550c7d

It's basically a 3D version of Tecmo Super Bowl that is fully customizable and has 3 vs. 3 online play, which runs with minimal lag.

Things you can edit:

-- Full player editing
-- Full team editing
-- Full playbook editing + play creator

Rosters can even be shared online!

There is also a full season mode and 2 vs. 2 local multiplayer for those who don't have Xbox Live.

I highly recommend this game. There is no trial for it at the moment because of an error on Microsoft's end. The developer is working on getting a trial version up. But rest assured, if you like football, you should buy this game now.

Does Avatar Football have play vs. CPU, or is it just online/local multiplayer? If it does, how is the play vs. CPU? I don't enjoy playing sports games online. I'm not that good, and I'll just got stomped on every time. LOL.

I'll check out Avatar Golf.

Surprised there is no mention of White Noise in this thread!? Its a goddamn Slender clone for 360! I mean, it could use some work still, but its been out less than month, so I'd expect to see an update eventually. Also its only 80msp!

You can play a full season against the CPU. The schedule is identical to this year's NFL schedule. The CPU can be pretty challenging on the hardest difficulty depending on the team matchups. Some teams are way more talented than others.

I just grabbed the trial. I had forgotten about it. Will see if I can find some time tonight to try it out. Thanks for the heads up on the sale!

Wow...no one ever posts in this thread or updates OP...anyways, I'm not sure if this is an actual sale or not, but the art for Block World says there is a "%66 Discount" for a "Limited Time". Not sure if its been like this for a while, but I recently had gone through every Indie Game, and only recall it being 240msp...

Regardless, Block World is 80msp
http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Block-World/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550bb1

EDIT: Description still reads "Purchase now for the reduced price of 240 Points! and get ALL the future updates for FREE! v1.5", so I'm pretty sure its recent a price drop/sale. Can't comment on its quality or anything yet though...

Not a price drop, but the sequel to one of my favorite xbligs.
Too bad it's only about managing the arcade, and you don't get to actually play any of them. I imagine there'd be a lot of licensing issues if you could, though.
Yeah, combo of this and XBLA Game Room. Well Game Room should had something like this to begin with. Maybe then it wouldn't have sucked so bad.

That's awesome for arcadecraft. I need 60 points for it. I have bing points but I'm trying to save them for the Bioshock DLC. I may crack though LoL

I purchased Arcadecraft a few weeks ago, and it was very much worth it. It's more of a sim, but having your friends avatars come in and breaking the machines is worth the price alone.

A quick note to anyone who likes Arcadecraft and wants to see more updates, then another game to look at is Orbitron: Revolution (also 80msp). Buying it gives you a special cabinet for it in Arcadecraft, and will go towards support and development of Arcadecraft in general.

SRC
Arcadecraft looks great, how can I support the development of Arcadecraft right now?
Currently the best way to financially support Arcadecraft is to buy our other game, Orbitron: Revolution.

You can also buy Arcadecraft when it appears tomorrow.
^ Obviously an outdated FAQ, but the point is that their development team and finances are in the low end, so they definitely need help if we're gonna see all the planned major updates...

I might pick that up next month then. Was wondering what that input code thing in the menu was.

Anyhow, just wondering am I the only one who chooses the play music on my hardrive in game and just loop the Heavy Metal Soundtrack to give it that perfect arcade feel?

I realize this thread is mostly dead, but Bleed dropped to 240 msp. No idea if that's permanent or temporary, but I'll be buying it shortly.

You realize it's dead.... but dude, if you didn't share this awesome, awesome news....

......well, nothing. I probably would've never known. Thank you so much - I've been waiting for a drop on this one for forever.
