XBLIG Price Drops

Since Microsoft recently changed their pricing structure for Xbox Indies, larger games can can now be sold for 80 MSP. As a result, many XBLIG devs have opted to drop the price of their games. I thought it would be pretty cool to have a thread that would try to track what WORTHWHILE games are now cheaper.

DISCLAIMER: Yes, I know that Xbox Indies is a largely horrifying wasteland of shovelware and absolute garbage like "Avatar Zombie Massager" and "Look I Made a One Level Platformer with MS Paint!!!". (There's really no need to elaborate on it further, we all know this.) But there ARE some good games in the pile. And I'd like to keep the thread focused on those, if possible.

DISCLAIMER 2 (The More Important One):
Xbox Live Indie Games require an internet connection to start the game. It doesn't matter if you have a Silver (Free) or Gold account, just that the Xbox is connected to the internet. Again, this is only to start the game; once the game is running you can disconnect your Xbox, but not sign out of your profile.

You should press the upload button and then the Submit at the botttom !! They are not the same, what Kind of post under contests where ? On the website ?

Thanks to everyone who has tried the game, the support has been incredible....

I mean contests here: Maybe you should PM Cheapy D and tell him about your contest. http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/competitions.php?

I put my picture there then I pressed upload and it did something and then it went back to the form and said "You forgot these required fields in red" sort of thing.

I put my pic in the box again, then filled out the rest of the questions and pressed submit and it said SUCCESS.

It was a little confusing and disjointed and I'm not sure it worked?
Picked up DLC quest today. Totally worth the $1. Had a blast with it and laughed my ass off.
Player.

The developer of Fire Fly Vegas informed me that the game should be dropping to 80 points possibly tomorrow. (of course I'm also giving the game away this weekend on my site by going HERE ;)) It's a fun little twin stick shooter ala Geometry Wars.

If you're looking for a competitive multiplayer game to play at your next gaming get-together, I've found Speedrunner HD to be a big hit. It's 240 msp, but it's a good bit of platforming fun when squaring off against friends. I only wish there was an option to play online, and perhaps some flexibility when setting up the matches.

We posted our new Indie Mondays review yesterday, and this week it was on 20 Games by IndieSkies. Check it out here: http://bgbureau.com/1673/indie-mondays-20-games-xbox-360/ .

The kind folks at IndieSkies provided us with 2 free codes of the game to give away, so I am bringing them to you guys. Just click the ClicktoTweet link below to have a chance to win one of the 2 codes. We will choose and announce the two winners on tomorrow's VG Confidential Podcast on our site.

Enter to Win a Code by Clicking HERE: http://clicktotweet.com/8cY2T
Also, don't forget to follow @BGamingBureau on Twitter so we can easily contact you if you are a winner.

thanks for the Alien Jelly news. i deleted it a week ago after playing the trial, but it is definitely worth the 80pts. it's one of the most polished indie games i've played

Woohoo! OT, but I'm one of the winners in the Bloody Checkers portrait contest. This should be hilarious, and I can't wait. :whee:

Me three! Now my namesake might actually beat someone at checkers. I'm a total mess when it comes to playing.
Me too. How many entries did Kilroy actually receive? It seems nice and convenient that we all won...
26 people were chosen from 445 entries (according to a post from him over @ gfaqs) at random... I don't recognize 3/4s of the names on the winners list.
One of my most anticipated XBLIG games, They Bleed Pixels got bumped up to an XBLA release. Damn.
I've also been waiting for this for ages. I'll buy it either way.
Me too. How many entries did Kilroy actually receive? It seems nice and convenient that we all won...
It was a truly random drawing, and there were hundreds of participants, but keep in mind I chose 25 so the odds were pretty good almost 1 in 8 ??

I haven't seen anyone disappointed so far....and if this works well, then maybe I can try it again sometime in the future.

Cheers

End of Days: Infected Vs Mercs has been dropped from 240MSP to 80MSP a couple of days ago.

Great online FPS - kind of like a "baby CoD". It has one map, but the developer is still working on updates to add more features too, so the game is improving all the time. I believe one of the updates is supposed to be a whole new map as well.

I bought it the other day, and from what I can see the game has a fairly decent online community too. :)

I wasn't going to bump the thread just for shameless self promotion but since someone already bumped it... for the rest of April at my site we are having an invasion of indie game reviews with most being XBLIG's. Check the link in my signature.
TIC: Part 1, was finally dropped to 80 points
Awesome, thanks for catching that! I've been interested in this game since June 2011 when I first saw it :) I even checked it a few weeks ago to see if it had possibly dropped. I'm not holding my breath for a part two (standard disclaimer for any non-Telltale episodic)

The only XBLIG game left to drop from my long time ago wishlist is CarneyVale Showtime...that one's still holding at 240.
Blocks That Matter has dropped to 80 MSP. I own this game on Steam and have put just about 7 hours into it. I highly recommend it!
Thank you. I figured for 80 points, why not! I have been intrigued by this game for a awhile now. Appreciate the update.

It is possible it might drop, but I wouldn't hold my breath unless the Windows Phone version (which I believe has achievements) is only a $1.

radiangames is having a sale, including dropping all his XBLIG games back down to 80 points for at least the next 90 days:
http://radiangames.com/blog/?p=1124
It’s been 2 years since I released my first game, JoyJoy, on XBLIG. It was not exactly the smoothest launch. But it’s still a good thing to celebrate since Radiangames is still going and I’ve had 15 significant releases over the last 2 years.

It may not be the best week to have a sale (two of the biggest games of the year, Diablo III and Max Payne 3, come out today), but that’s exactly what I’m doing. Everything is on sale. All my iPhone/iPad games. All my PC/Mac games. All my Xbox games. And all the soundtracks too.

The iPhone/iPad games and PC/Mac games (and the soundtracks) will be on sale for a week, meaning they’ll stop being on sale on sometime on May 22nd. I can only change the price of the Xbox games once every 90 days, so they’ll be on sale for much longer, probably forever.

The Xbox Live Indie Games are now 80MSP (1 dollar) each. They were previously 400MSP (5 dollars) each for the last 10 months.

JoyJoy
Crossfire
Inferno
Fluid
Fireball
Crossfire 2
Ballistic

^ Good news to those that forgot to pick them up before the price hike... Don't forget this time lol. All of them are great games.

BTW, Apple Jack 2 is currently in peer review. Keep your eyes peeled! It should be coming out any day now.

I've been waiting for this day! (I was one of those who missed the memo about the price hike.) I already own Fireball and Joy Joy, so I'll probably grab Ballistic, Inferno, and the two Crossfire games.

On a side note, Red Shift is a simple but pretty fun shooter.

Thanks for maintaining this thread. So many great finds here! Love XBLIG. I'm not sure what will happen to the service with MS hinting that XNA will be a thing of the past, but right now, it's great.

Just a heads up: As of today, MS has changed their policy on XBLIGs so that developers can change their game's price every 7 days. As a result, we may see quite a few drops in the days to come. Fingers crossed for Wizorb.
Any "must-have" gems in here? I have never looked at or purchased any XBLIG and have some points to burn.
Lots. Dead Pixels, Cthulhu Saves the World, Soulcaster I/II, Cursed Loot, Aban Hawkins and the 1000 Spikes... all worth way more than a measly buck IMO.

Good looks! For only $1 I'll look into these. Now I just gotta figure out how to get to the IG page.

Dead Pixels was awesome. Any suggestions for another good coop game? I was thinking one of these.

Zombie estate is my favorite co-op indie title. It did come out a few years ago, so there might have been better dual stick shooters since then. It is a staple that my nephews want to play every time they come over. I wish the creator would put out an online-enabled sequel sometime.
