Wrong. You can't say something is better when it's not true. And that's from players that are already discontinued. If you want to read more, see here:

Which I go into several aspects by Blu-ray is not the best Blu-ray player anymore. It's slower, it has less features (no Netflix built in, no VuDu, no Pandora, No Cinemanow, can't play MKVs etc.). In 2008, sure. in 2010? It's not. I really wish people would stop spouting off incorrect facts because they think what they have is the best.[/QUOTE]
You're an ass, right? Glad that we're all in agreement.
A discontinued player certainly can't be included in a comparison of this type. It's not
on the market. And by $100, we are talking regular prices, not sale or clearance prices.
Nor does the article you linked to mention prices at all. As far as speeds, I was thinking of the fat PS3, which loads movies faster than the slim. My bad on not being more specific, I s'pose.
As far as the PS3 not having a bunch of features that are irrelevant to Blu-Ray playback, who cares? We were talking about Blu-Ray playback, not media center features.
A common issue with BR players (especially Samsungs) is firmware compatibility with specific disc or special features. Thankfully Sony's console has great compatibility and they update the firmware pretty frequently too.
I never said it was
the best, either. But it's still great at what it does. Of course, I do factor in the console's other features like gaming and the crappy web browser when praising it, so I guess that's sort of like considering a bunch of streaming features like you did.
Jeez, I sound like an ad.

I barely play games on the thing though.
