Ohh come on Chis the article you sourced to back up your statement is 99% about the good things developers are saying about the new kits. Developers have to learn these new systems and the new requirments and thats the only part that is really bitched about in that article. This happens each and evreytime a new system comes out. Developers are going to go crazy over how hard it's going to be on the PS3 kits because the Cell chip is so diffrent (it doesn't mean it's better just diffrent).
Second thing that ticked me off about your post is that you say there is no impressive screen shots. Well have you seen the recent G4tv.com video of Gears of WAR? If you haven't download it here
http://games.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1167/Gears-of-War/#movies. All video of the game is in REAL TIME!! It's not the CG stuff Sony showed and it's been confirmesd they showed CG. I'd also like to point you to a screen shot that caused controversy from PGR3
http://screenshots.teamxbox.com/screen/38913/Project-Gotham-Racing-3/
the screen shot you see there is from the game not a photo from real life. Look at some of those screen shots and tell me your not impressed.
Now as far as Wifi. I'd like there be 802.11 g support built in as well, and heck it's something they might add last minute who knows. But big deal if they don't you can pick up a USB wireless adapter for it at newegg for like 20$. Micorosft more then anybody has shown there dedication to great online gaming with the Xbox Live service and what they have planed for 360 is not even close to being half-ass.
Wow, I'm so impressed by a single screen shot of a non-interactive environment, not to mention I still don't think it looks a whole gen better. As for Gears of War, that's even less impressive, it looks to be on the same level as Doom 3, definitely not a whole gen better, not even close. Also, just because you feel that Xbox 360 isn't going to be half-assed, doesn't mean that all the facts aren't pointing to it being so. It's pretty obvious that you're a straight up fanboy. Fanboys are the best, they'll argue that "their console" is going to be the greatest ever even though feature, after feature gets stripped away. Hell, the more bad news released about thier precious console, the more aggressive their ignorance takes over.
Me, on the other hand, I'm a guy that likes to get as much bang for his buck as possible. I want a good product for my $300, I want all the features a next-gen console should have. I want the company to sell me on their new product, and I want to read articles on it and get excited. I don't want to be some mindless person that say oh, who needs this feature, or that one, it's still going to be the best. No, I'm too smart for that. So you can go ahead and be Microsoft's, or whoever's, little fanboy-mouthpiece, but I'm going to always look out for number 1, and what I want. What I want is wireless, backwards compatiblity, and a sense of confidence in the product I'm going to invest my money in. I want to sit and look at all the many different new screensots and drool in anticipation for the games I'm going to buy because they look so good. You, on the other hand, search for those three screens that look "just ok", and keep telling yourself it'll be alright.
By the way, I'm not saying the Xbox 360 is going to suck, there's much time between now and that launch for Microsoft to come out and kick everyone's ass. All I'm saying is that I'm not going to live in denial and hope for the best, or "know" that Xbox 360 is going to kick ass. I'm going to do my research, and use common sense instead of blind fanboyism and hype when it comes to decide what is and isn't good.
