Microsoft this morning confirmed part of the bundle rumor that's been ravaging the Internet for weeks: All Xbox 360s and Xbox 360 Elites will now come with free copies of Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, a $90 value.

Nice to hear the double-game bundles are finally back. Hopefully they keep bundling such great games, too (as opposed to the Tetris Worlds crap they started resorting to on the OG Xbox)

The acclaimed "Forza Motorsport 2" (Microsoft Game Studios) and "Marvel Ultimate Alliance" (Activision) will both be included for the recently reduced prices of $349.99 (U.S.) for Xbox 360 and $449.99 (U.S.) for Xbox 360 Elite. just to get my facts straight, these falcons are supposed to be on all models of the 360 right? not just the elites?

im heading out tomorrow to do some christmas shopping and would really rather get a live arcade =/
 
I ordered mine 12/4 it came 12/10 No "Go big" on the box 175w Falcon chip set checked with flash light. The 2 games are in one box (comb0) NO re-packed. Quiet as a church mouse and runs MUCH cooler. My PS3 makes more noise now. :bouncy:

Yes, some arcades are falcons. I haven't seen a 175w sticker on the back of an Arcade yet, so you may have to try to purchase one with a later manufactured date and do more invasive tests to determine if it's a falcon.
 
well im going to go out tomorrow early and if i have to spend the extra $170 to get an elite with confirmed falcon, i will.

i would rather spend the $170 on a rock band set though =/
 
Buy.com has the Elite bundle in stock. I couldn't find it elsewhere online and they have very few left according to the site. I couldn't reuse the 5% off coupon (max $15 discount) but I'll link it below (along with $5 off games coupon). I don't know if it will be Falcon, but my best buddy wants an Elite so I'm selling him mine at cost ($435 bought in August with 5% off coupon). Chances are I'll get quieter fans at least.

It will be at least a week before mine arrives but I'll post if it's Falcon and what build, drive, etc. PM me if you want me to PM you when I have the info.

I just picked up an elite from Gamestop today. Lot 744 Team CSON, said "Go Big" on the front. The side said 203 watts, but the power supply is a 175 and through that, AND the inductor/heatpipe test, it is a falcon!
 
Saving $15 isn't worth risking not getting a Falcon elite.
I paid full retail plus tax just to ensure I got a Falcon pro.

Course I had mad cheapass savings when it game to picking up used and cheap games.

Got the 360 from Amazon. Box says 175w, came with a 175w max brick. Haven't had time to check it but it does run extremely quiet and I'm pretty sure it's a Falcon based on this info.

The Jasper is a substantial rumor, but just because MS denied it, doesn't mean something of similar will come out, like even smaller chips in 2009. I doubt 35nm will come out this gen, but 65nm GPUs make sense

As for the HD-DVD, you are right, MS denied it, HD-DVD market isn't strong, and MS is all about DLC.

My CAG buddy ordered that 360 arcade deal from Amazon and also received a Zephyr. I'll find out which one I got within the next two days.

Expane, if mine is a Zephyr and I want to exchange it with Amazon, what exactly would I say? I heard they pay for the shipping back, which is nice.
 
I recieved my Arcade Xbox from Amazon this morning, but I cannot currently ceck it because I am not at my house. I'll make a follow-up post later tonight once I find out if it is a falcon or not.

Well I'll send them an email about it. To see if they will. I don't have another 360 or anything though, this is my first, so I really don't want to go weeks more without, and I haven't yet experienced the pain-in-the-neck problems people experience with them.

Fry's has a bunch of Go Pro and Go Big bundles. From what I can see, all the Go Pro had a rating of 203w and the Go Big bundles had a new sticker over the older one or something and didn't state the watts at all.

Did you order a Value bundle (Pro or Elite)? If it doesn't say "Go Pro" or "Go Big" on the box, you can use that as your reason for returning it, since the picture on Amazon has "Go Big/Pro" on the box. Petty, but effective!

no go big on box. back of the box has adds for shreck the third, forza2, gears, lost planet, assassins creed and GTA IV (small 2inch screenshots)
stickers showing free games inside.

flashlight test showed no coper heat pipe on the cpu heatsink and only 2 nubbins

now i need to decide the best way to transfer my old drive data, wait for transfer cable from MS or pick up a 512 memory unit and do it manually tomorrow?
 
Saw tons of "Go Pro" Premiums and "Go Big" Elites at Best Buy today here in Atlanta. Interestingly, all of the Premiums were labeled 175w on the box while all of the Elites were labeled 203w on the box.
 
I bought a Pro bundle tonight that has 175w on the box. It was mixed in with other Pro bundles that were 203w. I could not find any Elite or Arcade ones with the 175w. Stopped at Game Crazy and all they had was 203w.

I was going to trade in the games that come with it but Game Stop and Game Crazy will only give you $8-$12 for both. What a rip off!

yes, we all know when microsoft denies something.... that doesn't mean its not true... look at Windows Vista.... they denied ANY compability problems with it... they also denied that there would be service packs (from the get go they said they would not NEED service packs for windows vista)

oh wait.. now they are letting owners of vista business premium and vista ultimate DOWNGRADE to XP for free? I wonder why THat is ;-)

what did we learn class? never trust Microsoft until it sees the light of day
 
Hey all, I just got my 360 pro through amazon. It was manufactured on 10-21-07 from lot 745 but its NOT a falcon. I did the flashlight test and the copper is there. What does anyone think I should do? Should I just keep it or try and get it replaced by amazon?

1. I just got a 360 Pro Amazon. Lot 745 manfactured on 11-7-2007 and it is a Falcon. It passed the flashlight test and has the Hitachi Drive.

2. I also have a Halo Edition Zepher with a Benq Drive and the difference in noise from the drive is minimal but it get much warmer than the Falcon.

3. I also purchased an Elite from Amazon it is also a Falcon manufactured on 10-27-2007. It passed the flashlight test. It has the Hitachi drive.

The Hitachi makes a little more noise but the Benq makes a grinding sound. (Drive noise is basically the same as it ever was.)

The Falcon runs much cooler based upon the feeling of the temperature of the air coming out of the back. I write game reviews for a website this is why I have so many 360's. No I am not rich. (Before you ask...lol) I also sold my old Elite and Pro Edition.
 
I thought if you had a 175watt power brick, you had a Falcon. I recently bought an Xbox Pro from Amazon and have 175 watts on the label outside the box, Team Fdou, Lot#0743 ,manufactured 10/20 something/ 07. The power brick also says 175watts. I didn't do the flashlight test because I wrapped it up and put it under the Christmas tree (for me Woohoo). I assumed I was Falconized. Oh, I also returned a Pro form Buy.com (had 203watts on box and older manufacture date) but since it was a return I had to pay $17 to ship it back to California.

I'm pretty sure you have a Falcon. There is a lot more copper on the inside than you think. I was fooled at first, but I finally figured it out.
 
I had to go all over lousiville yesterday [2 targets, 4 gamestop stores] and found ONE falcon 360...it was a pro so i took the difference i was going to pay for an elite and got assasins creed and a buncha dvds

At one point i had to explain why i was looking for "such a strange little number" because "most people don't care." The gamestop clerks kept telling me that they were just now shipping the 175s and that i probibly wouldnt find one in town.

i do appreciate the heads up yall, yea it was a hellacious time finding this thing, but im glad i did.

i sadly sent away my dead elite to cc today.....

i rolled by bb and noticed the systems they had there.. luckily they have holes right on the manufactured on date part of the system..

thats cool.. all the ones i saw were nov 2007.. i suppose those are safe ?

Yea, because of the 175W, 99.9% chance its a falcon
