• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I don't know the laws, seems unlikely EA man would do something that would blatantly get him in legal trouble here. I'm not sure if there is a threshold or something, apparently he's been selling stock and not buying any back for at least a year.

It does feel slightly different than Naka, who bought a LOT of stock in a couple of small companies to get himself in trouble. I think it was around $100,000 USD worth and the stock way cheaper than Unity

This has been discussed elsewhere but the amount he sold compared to what he had is not particularly eyebrow raising and given he had to schedule the sale months in advance and supposedly they're his wife shares, he's probably covered legally.

Not saying that he didn't specifically plan the announcement for after his (and many other Unity higher-ups apparently) scheduled share selling (and using his wife as a proxy) though, just that it's not like he majorly cashed out before tanking the company. This is more likely a genuine dumb decision than intentional sabotage.

Those "rumored specs" are legit much more than I want to believe from a company like Nintendo. Like 4K on TV i can kinda buy and it running UE5, but saying it's RT capable got me legit skeptic especially when other people say on par with PS4 and One. It just seems a bit too much from a company that has no problems going for the cheapest next-gen upgrade it can get. We'll see though, I for one am just thinking it'll be a PS4'ish level Switch with two screens so they can push DS/3DS games in their online membership and just for some of that sweet Nintendo off the beaten path of current competition design we've come to expect.

Don't quote me, but I think this effectively kills conversion. There technically would be no conversion anymore since Core is already Game Pass. I doubt they will let you upgrade from the lowest tier to the highest tier for the price of one month of Ultimate.

I highly, HIGHLY doubt Microsoft is going to spring a surprise announcement tomorrow saying they're going to pull a Playstation and force you to pay an upgrade fee to convert the rest of your subscription. That would be pretty insane.

We'll see tomorrow. I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong.

I'm excited that Nintendo has brought a good chunk of the great games from the Gamecube through Wii U era to the Switch.  With that and the NES/SNES/64 emulation on there it feels like a very robust catalogue.  Like others, I'm very hopeful that those collections move forward through backwards compatability or using the same cartridge in the Switch 2.  Would be a shame to feel like you have to start over with Nintendo again after such a strong showing with the Switch.

The way Nintendo just splashed that as coming to Switch, I was REALLY stoked when I found out it's on ALL platforms. I don't really agree with that. Mario Kart 8 is the first time they really milked one MK game and that was because of the massive flop of the Wii U. They took 6+ years but they just doubled the game in size with relatively cheap DLC, and the Mario Kart team was working on Arms (lol) and Splatoon 1-3 in that same time period.

I also don't see what you're saying about maturing in value, Nintendo games are way higher in value on average than old Sony games. Most of the expensive PS1 and PS2 games are third-party.

As far as classic/timeless, we can't really judge that well yet for Switch. At bare minimum BotW and TotK would make that list, I would say Three Houses too. Most of the GameCube library was considered relatively niche 20 years ago, outside of Melee.

In all seriousness, it would be interesting if they had an OG graphics mode the way Halo Anniversary and MCC allowed you to switch between original and remastered graphics in the first two games. Though I have to imagine going from current graphics standards back to the PS1 era would be tough.

Those nude "cheats" back in the day were just nude mods running on the PC version that magazines said were cheats as a troll.

Played some of The Crew Motorfest and it’s basically…Forza Horizon. Not nearly as good, of course, but having fun with it. It really is pretty shameful how closely it mimics FH. Guess at least we get another location for scenery.

Trophies or achievements? On the Xbox side, it looks like the only achievement you need that requires another player is the one for winning a duel. I can help you with that, I have a dummy account that I used. Only level 2, so one melee should kill him. You already unlocked the one for reviving someone, which I think is the only other one that requires another player.

I never started a second playthrough, just did the first one. Just about everything scaled up to level 72, except the first area of each of the DLCs, which were stuck around level 30. I think I tried going up to Mayhem 2, but mainly kept it off and just progressed through the game and DLCs.

My main gun was a Pestilent Infinity. Not sure if that works like it did in BL2 where increases to reload speed increased the fire rate, but it shot fast enough. I used Zane, who can sacrifice grenades to use a second action skills. Used his barrier and the SNTNL drone. The barrier has a quick cooldown and got a class mod with a kill skill with a 35% chance to recharge the SNTNL cooldown and duration, so if I was dealing with a mob, the drone could stay out for a long time.

I should be on various times Saturday and Sunday maybe we can knock it out.

I played solo and generally kept all enemies in front of me, so I didn't use the dome. I used the augments that granted health regen and buffed other stats when near the shield (I always picked it up after deploying it) and boosted gun damage when the barrier took damage. For the drone, I used radiation beams and rockets.

Never tried the other hunters. Maybe someday when I have nothing else to play.

I had the game installed on my PC so I ran that and got nothing. But since you both did cloud, I did that via Edge and THEN stuff popped up.

I think this must've been one of those weird entitlement issues from the DLCs they have pre-installed for their cloud instances or game image or whatever. Like how playing Doom Eternal on the cloud gave you access to the DLCs several years ago and they took it away later.

EDIT: I hopped back onto the PC version and I no longer have access to those cars; when selecting a Welcome Pack car from the car collection, it asks me to purchase it. Entitlement issue indeed. I spent all my Car Mastery points to grab the Wheelspins from the Forza Edition cars I got

If you have GPU and have played Forza Horizon 5, fire up the game in the cloud. This morning, my main account was gifted the 2017 Ford GT OPI Edition, which was exclusive to a promo for buying nail polish back around the time the game came out. I started it up with a second account and it was granted both the GT and the 1932 Ford Coupe Forza Edition that's supposed to be exclusive to the FH5 controller.

My main account had received the Coupe in the past, but it was eventually revoked, though it left the car in my garage. The game wouldn't let me drive it, but I could remove it. Same thing might happen with this.

This happened with my nephew over the weekend. When I looked on Reddit it seems this is a common issue and they will soon vanish from your owned cars.

I had the game installed on my PC so I ran that and got nothing. But since you both did cloud, I did that via Edge and THEN stuff popped up.

I think this must've been one of those weird entitlement issues from the DLCs they have pre-installed for their cloud instances or game image or whatever. Like how playing Doom Eternal on the cloud gave you access to the DLCs several years ago and they took it away later.

EDIT: I hopped back onto the PC version and I no longer have access to those cars; when selecting a Welcome Pack car from the car collection, it asks me to purchase it. Entitlement issue indeed.

I guess I should've made clear I was on console first, then started up in cloud. I had just hopped on cloud to check the counts on the Hall of Fame leaderboard, because TA posted a story that 25% of Starfield players hadn't gone to space, and I wanted to comment that about a third of FH5 players hadn't popped the achievement for getting to the festival.

I can't remember if the time my main was granted the Coupe FE was from playing in the cloud, but I have played in the cloud on both my main and second accounts in recent months and didn't get those cars until today. So one of their recent updates must have screwed something up. Just started it up on console, and, yeah, I no longer have access to the car.
