• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

If these four games do well, there’s no reason for them to not bring other stuff. I’ll still play Game Pass while I have it, but I’d be lying if I said this whole thing didn’t have me considering just moving to PC and PS5 in the future.

I'm sort of in that boat, but happy on the Xbox train. I have a rig that can play any current games at pretty high settings. But mostly have been sticking to console and smaller games (like Brotato). But I have the ability to play Starfield at over 100fps and to catch those Playstation titles when they port them over to Steam.

That's a good point, converting Gold to 'Core' inflates those numbers compared to what they were beforehand. It's a smart move though when considering PS Plus is a single service with tiers and MS was previously trying to convince people who already paid for Gold to do Game Pass as well.

Kotaku actually did a write up of it a few years back. Basically same ol of mismanagement and the whole moving production to Singapore and opening up a whole new studio to catch some tax breaks just really bit them in the ass.

Xbox certainly has the upper hand when it comes to things just working better. I played some Yakuza 0 on PS, and to create a save, 4 different system screens popped up. Played the same thing on Series X today, and nothing pops up when I save…it just saves like normal lol. I have no idea why PS5 has to go through all that to save the game.

Also, the addition of touch controls for local remote play is awesome!

You would think they would try to keep pillars of eternity 2 on there so people could play it before Avowed comes out. But I guess if I haven't even started the first game yet it's probably not that likely I will rush through both of them anyway.

I still fail to understand what it is you're upset about. Are you wanting to sell your Xbox just so that you can wait years for an Xbox game to come to your precious Playstation? I can see Starfield getting a 10 year anniversary edition and going over to other platforms, same as they did with Skyrim. Are you really going to be upset because Starfield went over to Playstation 10 years later?

We have a roadmap of games, Diablo 4 coming next month, new hardware coming this holiday, no price hikes, Game Pass continues to be the best deal in gaming. Xbox gamers eating good right now!

I've been building PCs since most of you were still in diapers. I've moved primarily over to consoles for gaming. Looking at GPU prices here in Canada and a 4090 is going for $3000. And that's just the GPU. Who can even afford to build a gaming PC these days? And if you can afford to spend $3000 on a GPU then you probably don't need to be on cheapassgamer.

I remember being extremely jealous of seeing PC games running at 60 fps last generation, which is what we were promised we'd be getting from consoles this generation. Sure $500 for a console is kind of expensive but compared to PC prices it's still kind of a steal.

As a parent, I look at Phil's wording as the same way I word stuff to my kids. Since a large portion of the vocal gaming community that replies to him or sends him messages acts like kids, I assume he uses the same logic. If my son asks me if he can play video games all morning on Saturday, even if that is currently okay, I always make my response ambiguous enough to say something like "Currently we have no plans Saturday morning so you should be able to play your game, but if something else comes up, it might interfere with that plan".

I feel like Phil Spencer is doing the same thing. Currently all they have planned on the books is to put these 4 games onto other consoles/ecosystems. However, if in 3 years from now, they put Starfield Legendary Collection onto Playstation 6, Phil doesn't want everyone retweeting him saying that Starfield is never coming to other consoles.

I don't feel like anything he said takes away from the fact that Xbox consoles are still the top priority for the Xbox team and they have no plans to leave the console ecosystem. I could see Nintendo or Playstation wording a statement a similar way if they were asked the same question. If Nintendo were asked "Will Zelda Tears of the Kingdom ever come to another companies console?" I would fully expect them to respond "We currently have no plans to release Tears of the Kingdom on other companies consoles" You always want to leave that door open in case something in your business changes.

Basically what's happening is that Ubisoft is going around opening studios in different countries looking for subsidies and kickbacks from their respective governments. I believe that is the same thing that happened to the Ubisoft India team and the Prince of Persia remake, that team was woefully underqualified for the project so Ubisoft had to scrap the development and give it to another team.

While the statement was true at the time, a LOT of the fanbase were accusing them as liars, after Sony started porting their games to PC. Something they thought would never happen, then it shifted to "day and date" will never happen, but with the latest Sony news (and Helldivers 2) that also seems to change and Day and Date on Playstation/PC will be more likely. Going down that route, even Sony might get to the point where they will actually port their games to other consoles, even though right now there's no word of it. Plans change over time, and the gaming industry is a rather fast paced space.

Same goes for that all digital future... while maybe not liked by all, the indicators are there... PC gaming basically gave up on physical a decade ago, and you can bet cnsoles won't hold on to them forever either...don't get me wrong it's good to have options and I like my occasional collector's edition but I'm also very comfortable with the digital libraries that I build on my different systems (at least in terms of gaming, movies and series are bit too widespread to have them all in one place at least over here)

No one cares about Sea of Thieves or these four smaller titles. Just MS who wants to capitalize a bit more. They are not huge money makers let alone "system movers". They are complete non-factors. If anybody wanted to play Sea of Thieves then they already own an Xbox. I keep reading this common misconception that other ecosystems care about these titles, or that Gamepass is coming to PS. Why would Sony want that? They don't care. They don't need to share. People also have got to get out of this mindset that gamers would be willing to go through multiple platform connectivity paywalls AND pay service MTXs too. Out of the rumored games I don't really see them selling crazy well except maybe Sea of Thieves. It's managed to maintain a decent player base on Xbox and Steam. Number 31 on Xbox right now and floating 25,000-30,000 average players on Steam.

Grounded is a wildcard. It's actually keeping up with Halo Infinite (disaster) on Steam at 3000 average players, but I dont think it has charted on Xbox for a while. Seems like a bad time for another survival game, but Palworld isn't on PS so maybe?

Hi-Fi Rush should do OK at the low price point, I don't think it'll be earth shattering.

Pentiment probably will flop, too niche.

Tracking would have shown if it was delivered or reached a certain destination and stopped moving. I work from home so I always know when mail gets delivered. I also rented Prince of Persia this month, and that was delivered fine. Almost like the discs didn’t actually ship out, but there’s no way to know.

Something like the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie pack for MK11 will never happen again. 3 skins featuring the actual likenesses of the actors with all of their dialogue/intro lines rerecorded for $5.99. Now $10 gets you 1 skin from an old game. Haven't spent any money on the SF6 skins/avatar items. I doubt the Tekken shop will be much better with Bamco's poor financial results.

Aeterono Blade II got a weird refresh. They got the rights back to their game a year ago and finally put out a promised update for 4K, level design changes, bug fixes, and costume DLC.

So the weird part is, this was a free update on all platforms, including Xbox One, but on Series consoles they are also selling the native version separately for $15. I just booted the game and it's definitely running in 4K/60 now, the 11 new DLC items are available for both versions, and the store description is the same on both. I don't understand why they have done this, and I can't find any details on what is different.

Oh no, it's only Soul Hackers 2 that is leaving. Usually what I do is copy and paste the games that are expected to leave from Bloomy's list and then highlight the ones that are actually leaving. Also Versus Evil (publisher of PoE 2) died back in December so I wonder if it'll be really cheap to keep it on Game Pass.
