• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Actually Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is also going to be on Switch, PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox One. It's an expansion pack, and a graphical overhaul of the original game. When you start PSO2 up you're going to get to decide if you want to play normal PSO2 with the New Genesis graphics system, but the old levels and combat systems, or the brand new New Genesis campaign that takes place 1,000 years later. You'll be able to freely switch your characters between both modes. They said that switching from one mode to the other will be as easy as switching to a different lobby on the ship.

The unfortunate fact is that you're paying full price for the GPU sub, which over the course of two years could be had for over $100 less via sales. You get a sub code for two years up front with the payment plan so there's also no way to cancel should you need to. Overall, you're better off paying for the console with cash, then riding out deals on GPU as they pop up. That is all of course, if you can afford to.

Thanks. I haven’t paid too much attention to GPU deals for a while. When I extended my GPU when the conversion was good, I grabbed some cards from CDKeys so I haven’t seen where other good deals have come from. I will have enough money to pay for it outright and was planning on doing my pre-order at my brick and mortar GameStop. What are some other places to keep an eye out for GPU deals.

And 2 months before the launch of the PS5 they expect you to plop down $500 and you still have no freaking idea how backwards compatibility works exactly. Will PS4 games leverage the power of the PS5 and be upscaled at all or is it just a 1:1 copy of the PS4 version? We still haven't has a single 3rd party independent reviewer like digital foundry actually look at the hardware. Maybe they are trying to hide how freaking MASSIVE this console is going to be and people will be shocked when they can't fit it in their entertainment centers or maybe they don't want you to find how how obnoxiously loud this console is going to be just like the PS4 because dumb dumb Mark Cerny decided to overclock the GPU to astronomical heights never seen before on a GPU and trying to cool it by air. Part of the reason I considered using Xbox All Access was just to get the 2 years of GPU and activate the code when I could extend it further. When that first bill came, I was planning on paying off the whole thing. I admit, it feels like spending too much effort to get “free GPU” so I don’t have to worry about it running out anytime soon.
I tend to overthink things to where I can’t make a decision or my head gets stuck spinning.
Even if I end up paying more in the end(for GPU), going to my GameStop to pre-order looks to be the less convoluted route.

As Fuzzmeister said, it’s the initial load time which compared to the ones before finally getting in the game in AC Odyssey isn’t bad.

As long as I keep it suspended though I won't have to worry correct? Does the resume mode work fine? A like 2 minute initial load is fine as long as I can keep a game suspended and not have to always sit through it every time I want to play the game

MS published Rise of the Tomb Raider. They were a pretty big help in getting the game out there, so they got the excusive on that one. Sony is just straight up paying people to ignore Xbox.

Playstation has only been a console for the exclusives for me. With nothing really attention grabbing that has a release date, my PS4 pro gets the trade-in towards Series X. With the games being one-shot single player games, I don't even know if I'll backup any save data.

Whats and extra year after probably waiting +2 yrs to actually release on PS5? since there is no solid release date and we know how those FF games like to delay releases, by that time we should be enjoying some juicy releases on Series X.

Literally the only thing that makes me want the X over the S is the 4k Blu-ray drive. And hard drive size.

Actually, maybe I should get the X then...

Edit: maybe I do get the S (but I’ll still need a bigger hard drive) and then eventually get the ps5 with disc drive. Or the other way around.

Actually- maybe that makes the most sense. The X for the 4k tv for the disc drive. The PS5 all digital for the basement since both PS5 systems have the same hard drive size. And get the Ps5 eventually since, in my opinion, Thanh really dropped the ball on that reveal yesterday and there isn’t 100% confirmation on backwards compat.

This guy says he confirmed with Sony that it’s a 6 month full exclusive (PC) and 12 month console exclusive (Xbox and Switch???), who knows if true but I’d be shocked if Xbox doesn’t get a DLC included edition a year after PS5 gets the vanilla one.
