• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I'm pretty bummed I'm still having xbox live issues with my series x. Google doesn't give much help other than it seems to mostly be a problem for people with verizon gigabit internet. I've tried everything can on the xbox side but haven't messed with any router settings. I'm guessing it's an xbox issue though since it's the only device I have a problem with and it still stays connected to the wifi, just disconnects from live until I put my wifi password back in. It happens in different frequencies depending on what I do. Watching a show it can happen a few times or not at all, I can play multiplayer for hours and disconnect once or twice but sitting on the dashboard it's every few minutes.

It doesn't click any notification that you redeemed, but if you go into Gears 5 it's there. That said if you never go into Gears 5, I dunno.

I went to check in game but everything was showing as "not installed yet" and "still downloading" with no option to install them. Uninstalled and currently reinstalling to see if that works. Guessing I had an issue while upgrading to the series x version as it was 60ish GB but the reinstall is 80ish GB. I assumed it would just show the new day DLC as "owned" in the store like most other DLC in the GPU perks. Thanks.

Nope. Hulu only has ad and non ad plans. Nothing anywhere states that you need the non ad Hulu to get 4K. I'm thinking maybe Apple TV app shows it and others like my LG won't show it as 4K but maybe it's just in 4K? Dollface looked pretty good the min I watched it but Handmaiden did not look very good for the 30 seconds I watched it. Maybe it takes a min or 2 for the 4K to show? Whatever the case, Hulu is clearly behind when it comes to 4K.

So I have some buyers for my Cyberpunk Xbox One X console. I was asking $420 for the system, included game, controller and Johnny figure, box and all the cables but most serious offers are for $400. I will probably go ahead and sell it for $400 and then just play my gaming laptop in the meantime until I can find a Series X in stock. I figure the upgrade to a series X will be worth the extra $130 or so with taxes. Just not sure when I will actually get a Series X but I am thinking it's better for me to sell the Cyberpunk X since the Series X is backwards compatible and more powerful and I am not interested in playing Cyberpunk anytime soon.

Hulu still has nothing in 4K which is beyond pathetic. HBO Max just starting with 1984 is a good start but they need to release all of their content in at least 4K and some of the newer stuff with Dolby vision and or HDR10. My Netflix is also increasing but I have not received the email yet.

All of these streaming services are getting as expensive or more expensive as just having cable if you subscribe to all of them. I know in my area there are deals that if you bundled cable TV with Internet it's like $90-$100 a month total. Kind of makes cord cutting pointless now. I have friends that have all the streaming services and cable or satellite television too. So much money a month spent on entertainment.

Only playing the first playthrough of Nier:Automata is like only watching Episode IV and not bothering with the rest of Star Wars.

I don't like referring to them as play throughs as that isn't really accurate. A second play through implies that you are replaying the same game again. The fan base mostly refers to them as Routes. Unfortunately Route B is 75% the same as Route A, just told from a different perspective. It plays differently but is still mostly a retread of the story. This may turn off some people. But Route C is an entirely new chapter in the story. And speaking of story, it escalates in a way that makes Routes A and B seem like a prologue. It is only in Route C that you even find out who the main characters really are. I feel sorry for those who only played Route A and thought that was the entire game, they are missing most of it!

Routes is definitely more accurate for Nier Automata, I can see why folks said to do all 3. I ended up doing the requirements for Ending E and I'm glad I did, it it expanded the story a lot and was pretty crazy. Now I'm definitely done with that game.

The preorder thread is how I got my Best Buy order. Someone in the thread works there and was able to report when new units were going on sale the weekend before Black Friday. I woke up to the post at 7am on a Sunday and had one secured within the hour.

The CAG Twitter acct along with Wario 64 are also reliable for in stock notices. If you're really fancy you can probably set up key word notices for accounts that post deals.

Going to do it for FIFA, NHL, UFC, and Squadrons as well.

I see the irony as well. With Amazon Video, you can sorta centralize some of the services(which I have no desire to do.) One thing for me is I watch international football which mostly has been consolidating onto ESPN plus. I can easily imagine more of these media companies merge or work together to bring together services under one umbrella as the market gets more and more saturated.

I'll give you it might hit $25 before the end of the year, but a $35 discount on a game that's been out for three days seems pretty good to me. And 78 Metacritic/8.1 User Score is mediocre?

*$25 discount. And yes, there are some scores that didn't think much of it; BotW with AC mechanics essentially. Ubisoft has homogenized their games in the worst way, playing off their interconnected teams a little too much and it's starting to show with sales slumping on their last few outings.

I believe that's exactly why reviews are mixed, because fresh eyes will likely love it. Any seasoned vet is going to feel fatigue set in from the first hour, with only the aesthetic to carry it at that point.

I think the main disappointment comes from the fact that this was a new IP, originally Gods and Monsters, that was announced years ago and at the end of that road this is all we got. I mean, they push out AC games faster than that so to get something that's basically just another clone with a new skin slapped on is pretty underwhelming.

Heh, here I am two years after we finally got a Switch with BotW and I still haven't played it; no real desire to at this point. Just bored of those type of games TBH.

My 4K Samsung already does 4K at 60 hz, I assumed that refresh rate was standard for that resolution. If you are interested in a good gaming monitor that supports 120Hz, the one I bought over the summer is amazing, the Acer XF27OH. Amazon is the only retailer I can find that currently sells them new, I like it so much I bought a second one to have matching monitors at my home office set up which I also use for some gaming when the main TV is not available. I figure I will get a gaming PC eventually, probably when we move into a larger house, and I will use these monitors for 10 years.

They max out at 1080p but the 120hz makes motion incredibly smooth.

I haven't seen your other posts but make sure that you've gone into display settings on the Xbox and told it to go above 60 hz. Usually when I plug it in for the first time it automatically recognizes what the screen is capable of and takes you to display settings first thing. If that option is not showing up in the system but your screen supports it, the HDMI cable may be the issue.

I feel like Immortal could tank fast, maybe even by the Christmas sale. It's releasing between the two games that are probably it's worst competition, Valhalla and Cyberpunk, and even if Switch could save it Age if Calamity stole that chance. I don't know what Ubisoft was thinking with this date, maybe didn't expect that final Cyberpunk delay.

I feel like it could get good sales with people buying gifts for younger kids. I think if someone is getting a 10 year old a new game for Christmas they'd pick it over the other 3 games. No matter how well it does I'd be a little surprised if it wasn't at least 33% off for the end of year sales. It took less than a month for watch dogs to hit 50% so it could happen but I feel like we won't get that lucky.

Does EA extend to PC Origin? I'd like to play Titanfall 2 on PC.

Rumor has it EA Play is coming to PC game pass soon but currently having Play on Xbox doesn’t extend to the PC version.

The problem here is no one knows or has heard of Immortal. While the other games have name recognition and/or mass marketing, I have not seem a single thing for Immortal besides message boards and gaming websites. There's also the factor of it competing against other games that are already pre established so I'll be surprised if this doesn't get a major markdown by the end of the year.

Anyone else get annoyed when they unlock multiple achievements in a single day since they can't roll them over to get the 50 points per day for them? I've played Dragon Quest, Earth's Dawn, Hotshot Racing, and Ticket to Ride today, and I unlocked an achievement in each game so far.

I get more annoyed when I unlock multiple achievements in a day and none of them trigger the +50 point thing to work.

I wish it was a weekly thing. +350 points for hitting 7 achievements would be great so that if you blast through some games you wouldn't miss out on it (like finishing a game on the highest difficulty and getting the lower difficulty achievements as well).

Why does newegg charge tax for digital codes? Wanted to buy a cyberpunk code at the $49.99 price but after tax it's up to $55 not worth it then as I can get physical with steelbook cheaper. I feel like best buy, target, amazon and other places don't charge tax when I buy digital codes. What's up with that?

Tax and digital is just a shitshow that isn't in your advantage.

Gamestop here in MA used to charge tax on Xbox Gift cards (I don't know if they still do) and you still have to pay tax when you try to buy items after redeeming the code.
