• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Regarding Alien Isolation:

Years ago I listed my copy on eBay and told my buddy hey let’s play through this before it sells. We played through it for several long nights and when I realized I was on chapter 13 out of many more I called it quits.

It’s a good game but the campaign is way too long.

Dang that's a nice price, I sold my extra Rivals bundle that was just the Game and Blue Jaguar Guitar for either $60 or $80 this summer paid like $30 for it on an Amazon sale a couple of Christmas ago. I actually did 2 guitar co-op like a grand total of once on Rock Band 4 so was just cleaning out my gaming closet.

Yeah I got $300 for mine around the middle of August, also had the box in mint and a never used controller. It lasted like a few hours on FB Marketplace on the Saturday I put it up. It was pretty early to sell it, but with so much on PC GamePass now I don't feel like I've missed out on anything crucial these last few months. I don't know if I would use FB marketplace if I lived in a big city like Phoenix still, but around this small town it hasn't been an issue. Of course it's also FB, so I have had to deal with a few messages from D-bags, but find I can usually sus out anyone fairly quickly.

I had been completing Game Pass quests, but sometimes not redeeming them right away, and I noticed that quests seem to count in the week where they are redeemed, not where they originated (so I was completing the quests on Sunday and Monday, and then redeeming them on Tuesday, and it instantly fulfilled the reqs for the "complete 4 daily quests" on the first day).

I have a few daily quests done, but I regret not keeping an extra weekly, then as soon as the next month rolls in get myself a head start.  Ah well, I guess I can give that a shot at the end of next month.

Edit: It appears you can't carry quests into the next month.  There is a banner in the app that says "Today is the last day to turn in your quests." on the last Monday of a month.

If any of you have wanted to play Rainbow Six Siege, but were hesitant to play it because of the difficulty of it, the game has a Halloween Themed mode running for a few more days where you're fighting each other over candy.  It's sort of like the Call fo Duty mode where you had to kill and claim Dog Tags (candy) from the fallen opponent to get points.  But this mode actually has respawns in it, so dying isn't nearly as punishing as it is in other modes.

The Master Chief Collection also has some Halloween Themed modes and rewards running for a few more days too.

I hadn't planned on getting a series X until at least next year sometime or maybe later but I have the cyberpunk One X console with collectable figure and the game has not been redeemed so I'll see how much I can get for it. If I could get close to what I paid for it, I can upgrade to a much more powerful console for like $100 or so. It will suck knowing I can't play any Kinect games but it's a small price to pay.

I do like the cyberpunk Edition One X but I'd rather have a more powerful console. I'll put it up for sale and see if I get any bites.

That Cyberpunk One X must have been planned entirely around the April date, it just made little sense when it actually released.

PriceCharting shows it floating between $400 and $500 complete in box including the game, which I think is based on only eBay sales.

I haven't played since around release but I really liked the look of the armor they gave for iron banner I think? It looked kind of medieval and had two wolves and a tree as the symbol I think.

Presumably that's the same demo that is on Switch. It's supposed to be pretty meat, like 5 or 6 hours. I never actually started before the Xbox version was announced.

Unfortunately I'll be passing on this 100 game at launch unless Cyberpunk gets delayed again. Hopefully it's on Game Pass for the long haul.

Before today, I either never noticed or never checked, but sure enough there is a thing in the app that says "Today is the last day to turn in your quests." So carrying quests between weeks within a month works (though this is a less useful technique), but carrying quests into the next month does not. Interesting.

Notably, Xbox will allow save transfers between X1 and Series S/X seamlessly, but PS5 is one way only - after it's imported, the PS4 can't access it anymore. Makes me appreciate what Microsoft is doing more and more:

A: Your Borderlands 3 add-on content and save files can be ported to next-gen consoles within the same console family so you can jump straight back into the action.

Xbox One save files will seamlessly transfer to your Xbox Series X / S once you've set up and signed into the same Xbox Account.

PlayStation 4 save files can only be transferred to PlayStation 5, not the other way around. You'll need to log in on your PS4, then upload your save via the new "UPLOAD SAVE" option under "Play" on the Borderlands 3 main menu. Then, on PS5, you'll see an option to "DOWNLOAD SAVE" in the same Borderlands 3 main menu location, which pulls in the PS4 save that was uploaded. Only one of these saves will work at a time; if you upload another save, it will overwrite any previously uploaded save files.
