• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned or not but there’s a 1000 point punch card for FIFA 21 for just playing and getting an achievement. The EA Play trial works for it. Easiest achievement is probably to play a women’s international game. That’s what I did.

It should be noted that this punchcard only works with a Series S/X, so us cheapasses that don't have one yet are SOL

Yeah, I know that’s the max output. I guess what I didn’t understand is that if you put on a movie, my TCL will say 24hz as 24 FPS is that the standard rate for video playback. So I thought the TV would actually show 30hz for games playing at 30 FPS. But it shows 60hz no matter that game you play.

That's because your TV supports 24 hz output for "film" content, and the Xbox can output at 24 hz so the display isn't displaying extra frames.

Otherwise, unless your set supports 120 hz and you're doing something that outputs at that rate, it's always putting out 60 hz.

The way you tell if something is 60 fps is with your eyes, though. I've never understood how people can't see this, but they do exist and I'll never get how.

If the image appears "lifelike" and smooth, it's 60 fps. If it looks more like a movie or it isn't totally smooth, then not 60.

By now if this isn't a Game Pass title by Fall next year, I will be legit surprised. Also that conference call report with the developers of the game and the executives did not sound promising. It's getting to the point where I'm legit surprised there wasn't any leaks of talks of troubled development with how much of a train wreck this is becoming.

Yeah I suppose those that asked for the game are probably aware of the issues and would not even open the game up? Oh well. I'll stick for Forza Horizon 1-4 on my One X + new blue controller.

Yeah, it runs pretty good on the faster consoles. It's fine on the XBSX, obviously.

I do think this refund is a good thing, because they need to send a message to developers to stop this crap. No one likes game delays, but shuffling things out that are way undercooked is getting out of hand. And it is damaging to the game even if it is eventually fixed up. People are still talking about the mess of No Man's Sky even though as I understand it is quite good now. Warcraft 3 Remastered was an abomination. Avengers really needed much more polish on the end game and content. You need consoles the game isn't even made for to play Cyberpunk decently.

I would return Cyberpunk (even though it is fine on my XBSX) on mere principle if I didn't get it for GCU, then BB doubling up on the rewards bonus from it. If I had paid full price though it would definitely go back. They really need some executive heads to roll over this. It should have been obvious a couple months back it needed another six months and potentially moved to nextgen only.

CDPR in their statement said they were only helping with refunds through 12/21, which is apparently when another patch is coming.

In other Cyberpunk news, people figured out how to make their character fully nude in all locations with a simple inventory glitch and photo mode, so maybe that will stir up more shit.

I get the impression that they implemented the permenant shorts thing toward the end of development.

I upgraded to a series X but man I love the look of that special edition. I guess I’m just upset they released a game that was that broken for so many people. It’s played pretty well for me so far a few bad things but overall on a series X it runs pretty well.

I have a Series S so it should be able to play it semi decently, although my plan was to wait for the next gen version all along. Supposedly this (Stadia) is the second-best platform the game plays on, next to high-end PC. I don't know if Google would let you return it anyway, but I think it's worth keeping the game until they fix it just because of all the freebies you got with the purchase.

I think CDPR was one of the last "AAA" groups that had this reputation for not screwing the customer and they kind of blew it. So people are pissed and maybe realizing in the end this industry is definitely about the money first, which in my opinion is fine as long as you are not shady.

Monster Sanctuary is another cool addition to Game Pass. It’s a 2D Pokémon/Metroidvania game with 3v3 “monster” battles. I haven’t seen much about it at all, but a streamer on Twitch was playing it and I gave it a try as a Pokémon fan.

I can understand it from playing the first few hours. I did not like the game at all in the first hours. Like you can barely aim at enemies because its so laggy.And the camera shake (which is on by default) didnt help. It started to get really good with Johnny(Keanu) and also seemed to perform better technically alot.

Anyone having issues try inner deadzone 0.01, camera sensitivity 9 for both, additive camera motions OFF, graphics options like motion blur all off, hud all off (except stuff like boss hit numbers or even minimap if you need it for doing alot of missions to get directions).

Read it helped people on xbox one x and even series x too.

Just did some side mission in a giant mansion that was pretty amazing, then we watched a movie there on big screen and it actually had a full concert playing with Keanu Reeves. Sucks all this detail and what the game has to offer isnt even being seen by most.

What I like alot is the story is engaging unlike most other videogames (to me) its like on a level with some of the best movies and does bring up some good topics, like philosophical questions and stuff about life and the future. Its meaningful. Whereas Ubisoft games, which I do like also, usually have more of a "fast food" story of consume & forget with alot of filler/fluff dialogues.

If it's a reward certificate, you can't.

If it's a gift card, it just can't be a zero dollar sale (as in, $25 for $25). If it's for more than that ($30 or $50) then it'll work, at least in my experience.

I think it is possible to do this but I am sure it takes a lot of testing. Games have added new AI characters (like Ghost Recon: Breakpoint) so I think it would be possible to tweak existing AI. This is my completely "I think anything electronic is magic" opinion though. I have studied biology a lot and I still find most of consumer electronics to be miracles of the human mind.

360 games don't count towards the punchcard, correct? I don't think I can bring myself to spend $50 after completing the last punchcard. There's a few things on my list wish but the only thing that I know I'll be picking up is Apex Legends DLC. If 360 games count I may splurge and pick up enough for the punchcard.

Think I'm going to take my chances with my copy of Cyberpunk even though I'm waiting for the series x version/my series x to work. Paid $45 for it and got $20 in rewards certificates for it from best buy.

Yeah, its a good game and a fitting end to the story but getting all the achievements (or the platinum in my case) might sour some people. Having to know when to make a second save just so you can go and spend 30 mins making the opposite decision to get some of them was just dumb. At least Minecraft Story Mode only did that when the decisions lead to a totally different sequence instead of just alternate dialog.
