• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I only have HBO Max for WW84. I chose poorly.

HBO Max has a lot of good stuff. Some of the top of my head:

• Lovecraft Country
• Watchmen
• All(?) Adult Swim shows (Venture Bros! Rick and Morty!)
• Lots of the Cartoon Network shows
• Lots of the stuff that was on DC Universe (Doom Patrol, Titans, Harley Quinn, Young Justice, lots of other animated shows)
• Studio Ghibli
• A large chunk of the Criterion Collection
• Every HBO show ever
• Loads of movies
• All of the new Warner movies that would be out theatrically this year

We use it pretty heavily.

• You didn't even mention the remastered Babylon 5. I will accept your apology, starting now.
• I didn't know Studio Ghibli was in there. I'll have to dig around.
• Don't forget the Tom and Jerry movie comes out tomorrow. I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay ~$100 for two of us to go see it in theaters (we go to a dine-in movie theater and the food ain't cheap).

The number of times a character turns their back on someone who had access to a gun is just constantly used throughout and the final act they just gave up on any motivation and just legit said " it, just punch someone". Going to get to 5 this weekend and hopefully it'll give me something that made me love the series like 0 and Kiwami 2.

Played Nick Kart Racers 2 and unlocked 6 achievements in 15 minutes without trying. Game is fine. No character voices at all seems weird but the game loads quickly and driving is adequate. It’s impressive that Sony is putting a PS5 title on PS+ every month so far instead of PSNow. Meanwhile Xbox is using GP to release even their smaller exclusives like The Medium, and GwG isn’t much to get excited about.

I Thought 3 was the weakest just after going from the gameplay highs of Kiwami 2 to the dated clunky nature of 3 and just the whole dated gameplay and writing made it the most skippable game in the series. I Feel you can go from Kiwami 2 to 4 and really not be lost, because the whole last half of Yakuza turning into global conspiracy that Kiryu alone must unravel made no sense even in Yakuza standards. 4 was going fine until you realize how stupid these characters are in how these characters would totally be better if they were just SLIGHTLY MORE CAUTIOUS. That and the weight of figuring out four characters really came to ahead in the last chapter when you just know either they ran out of time or really had no idea what to do with them so they just gave up and beat every dead horse they could find. Still, better than 3 just because combat didn't feel like PS1 era beat em up and I don't gotta take care of kids in a damn orphanage.

Now onward to the 50 or so hours of Yakuza 5!

Exclusivity ends on April 10 for FF7R, so if it IS coming to Xbox and PC (and I firmly assume it will), this seems like a great opportunity for Sony to soak up even more marketing for it before the inevitable multiplatform announcement. Wouldn't be surprised if it ends up on Game Pass, but the PS Plus announcement may have stipulations for other services and may be another way to them to dominate the marketing. Microsoft is probably restricted from even announcing it until at or near the end of exclusivity.

Final Fantasy 7RE was really well done and so was Control but I've played them both already.

PS Plus rarely benefits me unless its new release or indie that I haven't played.

Seems I'm the odd man out in this but Hulu is my favorite streaming platform.  Its fairly cheap, especially compared to Netflix, has a lot of great broadcast/cable shows both current seasons and old, easy access to WWE programing that is up to date unlike their network.  Hulu original movies arent great but their shows are pretty good.  Futureman is easily one of my favorite streaming originals.  The last few black Fridays they offer deals on their ad supported sub for I think 2 dollars a month.  

I really dislike Netflix these days, they keep raising prices and I never find anything to watch there.  HBO Max is better than i expected it to be.

Seems I'm the odd man out in this but Hulu is my favorite streaming platform. Its fairly cheap, especially compared to Netflix, has a lot of great broadcast/cable shows both current seasons and old, easy access to WWE programing that is up to date unlike their network. Hulu original movies arent great but their shows are pretty good. Futureman is easily one of my favorite streaming originals. The last few black Fridays they offer deals on their ad supported sub for I think 2 dollars a month.

I really dislike Netflix these days, they keep raising prices and I never find anything to watch there. HBO Max is better than i expected it to be.

Final Fantasy 7RE was really well done and so was Control but I've played them both already.
PS Plus rarely benefits me unless its new release or indie that I haven't played.

I was mainly just curious to see how many people that are fans of the series actually haven't played it yet. It is probably more than I initially thought because a friend of mine just texted me that he is excited for the release, he hasn't played it yet and he is a huge fan of the series.

I agree, I can’t remember the name of a single GWG game from the past 6 months because they aren’t memorable big games. PS+ freebies have been way better then GWG.

This. I actually got the plat for Bugsnax, Control is on my list to play, I’ve put hours into Fall Guys. Meanwhile I claim the GwG titles each month just to have them, but not much compels me to actually play them.

At $2.50 a month, PS+ might be becoming a better value than Game Pass if the quality of titles continues...

Seriously though. There’s a ton of games that run much smoother with faster frame rates. Even a game like Control without the next gen update is night and day. The Xbox One X would still have some major frame rate dips. Gone on Series X. And that’s just one example.

Forza Horizon 4 runs at 4K 60 FPS. It’s only 1080p if you want 60 FPS on Xbox One X.

There may not be many “next gen” games (on either system) but I’ve been quite happy with my Series X and can see quite a bit of difference. I am not bored.

This exactly. Stop poo pooing that already good games play better. Huge quality of life improvement from this thing. I love looking forward to things, but this idea that we need new movies, tv shows, or games drives me nuts. Tangent argument: people who are afraid of spoilers are babies.

Oh it’s a great system, I plan on getting one before Halo Infinite releases.

I’ve been playing a lot of Age of Empires 2 on pc on Gamepass, and Switch games, like Bowsers Fury. Gamepass is great if you have Xbox and PC both, so many games between the two.

I'm playing Cyberpunk on Series X. It looks good but the game sure loads a lot between cut scenes. It would be annoying on a slower console.

Remember Me was a fun game. I think I remember it not being super polished in places but it's pretty unique to warrant a play.

Too cheap to spring for the fancy version. It would be nice but I can tolerate the ads to save half the cost. The are usually no more than a minute a half at a time. Its not too bad once you are used to it. Its just like watching TV back in the day before all these services. Definitely check out the end of Futureman next time you reup.

I may be a bad CAG for buying it the week of release but I just have to say that Curse of the Dead Gods is ing awesome. Has some similarities to Hades. Not as much story and it’s quite a bit harder. But the combat is fantastic.

Best rogue like I’ve played since... Hades. And my favorite game this year so far.

Honestly I just wanted either a Series X or PS5 by April 16th for The Show. I've got over 500 hours in last year's game as it is my one true gaming obsession therefore I wanted something that I knew would give me the best experience possible.

I love everything about the XBox ecosystem and while I've heard great things about the Dual Sense controller, I know how much more I prefer the XBox controller over the PS4's. It will be weird AF playing The Show on XBox, but unless they somehow screw things up I will be in no hurry whatsoever to get a PS5 now since my PS4 Pro will let me play all the exclusives that I want to play for quite some time.

I know the main benefit right now is just loading times but I feel a lot better supporting Microsoft with everything they're doing pro-consumer while Sony is quite the opposite. Not exactly a hot take in an XBox thread but I know a lot of us have been multi-console for many years and I've always prided myself on that but I really could see myself waiting longer than ever before to get a PS5. Probably until the inevitable slim or whatever the first redesign is.
