• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

No, I truely really don't care for super sharp looking graphics. Makes my eyes feel weird when something is too sharp. I can't remember what game it was, but I remember it had a filter effect you could turn off and that made the game a lot clearer/sharper, and I think people were generally encouragd to turn that setting off. I actually liked that it made the graphics duller and left it on.

Have you played Gears 5? That absolutely is as “exciting” as the Spider-Man upgrade on PS5. I have both consoles and actually think Gears 5 has the best graphics of any next gen upgrade.

I’d also say 120 FPS is a game changer. And the Series X has like triple the number of games that do 120.

I have played Gears 5, but I dislike the franchise and unfortunately found it to be nice to look at, but incredibly boring to play imo. The 120 FPS thing hasn’t really done anything for me either to be honest. I’m guessing it would be a big deal for twitch style gameplay, fast paced shooters, etc.

I think that’s the thing though, while the Series X has some great technical improvements ... it doesn’t have what I want in a next gen console, which is games and experiences that I can only have on that console. I know that will change, which is why I’m really looking forward to things like E3, TGS and PAX this year, but in this immediate moment I do feel like I probably could have just waited to buy a Series X.

I’d say it’s a pretty big difference. I came from the P607 and liked it a lot. But the OLED CX has an incredible picture. Brighter, more vivid colors and probably not technically but the 4K seems more detailed. Having 2.1 HDMI and 120 Hz also is really nice for next gen.

Had the same issue just now. Bought Burnout Revenge on the website and it showed on my purchase history but says I had to rebuy on console. So I got a auto refund and rebought it on console. It let me download it and says I own it now.

I actually like the left frame better in that witcher image. I prefer the slight fuzziness than the right side with harsher clear lines. Like I said I still have my S hooked up and play watch dogs legion on both (I'm still using my S more than the SX), not noticing any difference between the S and the SX graphics wise.

I Have a Google Nest Mini, but only because Google gave me one for free. It's nice for playing music and podcasts at home, but it sure as hell isn't quicker than just pushing a damn button when dealing with devices.

None of the automation tech I've seen is where I want it to be to waste any money on right now. I'll be living in a dumb house for the foreseeable future.

I love saying these things. OK Google:

Turn on/off the downstairs office.

Set the upstairs/downstairs thermostat to 65 degrees.

Turn on/off U-verse (integration with Harmony Hub).

And also having all our porch lights turn on/off and dusk/dawn. I'd have our living room ceiling fan controlled by Google but I can't for the life of me figure out the miles of wires behind that light switch.

I wonder if these SIRI/Google Assistant/Alexa things are going to be something that the next generation embraces more than us since we grew up without needing them. Maybe as they evolve and improve reliability they will become more standard.

They are very useful for blind people. We have multiple Echo devices in my home and they get used everyday by a blind family member. I'm sure there are other people that are handicapped or elderly that would find them very useful too.

I don’t know what’s going on with my microsoft account. This morning I bought a couple of games from the spring sale (things I ONLY bought because I had credit expiring). Even though my payment defaults to use my balance first, somehow this transaction got set to use me credit card instead and I didn’t catch it. Had to ask for a refund, both games got approved for a refund. Go to repurchase with credit and I get an error that there is a problem with my payment method. Log into my account to investigate and I’m missing some credit. Also, the amount I’m missing doesn’t match up to anything I’ve bought or tried to buy and I have some weirdness with expiration dates

It’s weird to admit that I prefer the original Mass Effect Trilogy visuals to the remaster that’s coming out. The side by side really made it clear to me that everything is clearer and more detailed, but that doesn’t guarantee better design. It’s the exact thing that the Halo Combat Evolved Remaster suffered from. It looks better, like a more modern game ... but the actual redesigns and reskins don’t do justice to the original game’s design.

I know I’m probably in the minority here, but I just hate when they redo things like faces in games and they look inferior to the original. I’ll most likely still buy it because I want all of the games + dlc in one place and playable, but it’s a shame that the original designs haven’t been preserved.

I get what your saying but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad has Halo CE Anniversary. They completely botched the original artstyle with a lot of brand new textures and imported models from Reach that didn't mesh well. Sabre Interactive never seemed to grasp any consistent visual style for Halo and made 3 vastly different looking games. CE Anniversary, 2 Anniversary, and Halo Online

With Mass Effect they're mostly just importing applicable ME3 models to the older games, while a lot of the textures are simple but effective AI upscales. I'm pretty sure Bioware proper is handling the remaster internally, or at least closely supervising, and I feel like the transition to what were getting is solid because of it.

Regardless, unless someone has access to the PC versions and is comfortable with modding the remaster is an easy recommend. ME1 performance is basically dumpster fire through BC, and the low resolution of all the games makes them pretty shimmery most of the time.

I find that Microsoft's account system and payment methods are very sub-par and have been problematic for me multiple times. I have had multiple charges with no way to find out what it was for only to piece information together and come to what I believe is an explanation. Even support doesn't seem to know sometimes and is either guessing or doesn't want to be specific. I am referring to charges for Xbox and other products such as Office, etc.

Blizzard has added 2 more games to their arcade collection, bringing the total to 5 games. The free update, available now, added Lost Vikings 2 and RPM Racing to the roster which includes the original Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing, and Blackthorne. I was interested in this collection before for Rock N Roll Racing, but now I'll probably bite when it goes on sale.

Even support doesn't seem to know sometimes and is either guessing or doesn't want to be specific. I am referring to charges for Xbox and other products such as Office, etc.

An update to my situation: I still have weirdness with expiration dates (to my favor) but some values changed and I’m back to the right amount of credit. Unfortunately, I can no longer buy things with my credit. It tells me that there is an error with my payment method
