General info
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Ghostrunner worth it for $12? I played the demo and had a tough time with the controls but maybe I just suck. Mirror's Edge was simple enough for my monkey brain.

 
The Castlevania & Contra Collections for $5 is a no brainer for those wanting it on Xbox. It's been $5 on all platforms. Konami does good collections, but they drop frequently. The new Castlevania Advance Collection will be cheap in no time.

Played Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth when it came out on early access on Steam, finished it after it went to the full release. The pixel art is fantastic, controls are tight and plays well. It has a mechanic kind of like Ikaruga where change colors to gain invulnerability to certain attacks which makes for some fun boss fights. The map is easy to navigate and I don't recall ever feeling unsure of where to go next. Its a great game, I'm glad to see it come out on everything now so more people can play it. I liked it more than Bloodstaind.

I never played Diablo II back in the day, but I have a buddy that really wanted someone to play with so I pre-ordered it. So far it's pretty good, but very grindy.

Heads up though, I pre-ordered the Prime Evil Upgrade version and it hasn't completed the 4,000 point reward card. May have to call customer service to get the points.

Also just in case you didn't know, while playing you can hold down the left trigger and press the view button to change to the original graphics in 4:3 mode. I really like games that do this so you can dip into the past for a little while if you want.

Just want to say the TV opening of Record of Lodoss War is basically peak early 90's anime openings at it's finest. So fucking good and gives me so many weird giddy feelings just thinking about it.

I would say D2 was more fun for its time, due to the rampant hacking and community back then. Maphack was mandatory if you were farming meph runs or rushing players through content for SoJs, and people were constantly running Hell cows for loot so there was always something to do. People would also dupe uniques which sounds bad but really helped to drive a market for UNID items giving you a stable economy with players forced to farm (aka play the game).

Nowadays, all that is lost and the game would feel like a downgraded D3. Not to mention no lobby support on consoles, so good luck trying to trade anything since D2 relied on it. Easy pass unless you're looking for a SP experience, which TBH is pretty boring for this game.

I bought it on release day but didn't buy the version with the beta (because it was already released) which is what version the punchcard pops me into and I couldn't redeem. I had to contact customer service and they gave me the 4k points

Is anyone playing or has played Ori and the Will of the Wisps? I am like 10 hours in. I know this game had problems at launch but it's supposed to be all fixed now. I experienced a graphical glitch in one area. No big deal. I have been warping from save points because I thought that was the only way to warp but looking at my map, it shows I can warp from anywhere after I rebuilt the Ruin Glades spring well by giving that guy Ore. So I tried that and the game quit and booted me back to the Series X dashboard. Is this still glitched? Was this just a one time thing? Maybe I warped to an area from a certain area that the game didn't like? I haven't tried warping from anywhere since I was booted so am just warping from saves points now. Has this happened to you? Any other glitch I still need to look for? I googled it but all articles are from like March and nothing about what I am experiencing. Just like the first game, this one is awesome.

I grabbed American Fugitive this morning before I left for work.  It went off-sale at 6 a.m. EST.  I played a bit on Steam, but I will probably spend more time on it on Xbox.

 
little while back this was posted, not sure how much you want spend or can but it is a option. my GP is going till December this year so can't test it myself, beyond that I would keep a eye on slick deals site I random see GP on their cheaper then MSRP by $10=20 for random X months depending on deal.

Re-joined insiders to get this early, it really does make a huge difference, everyone with a dolby vision tv needs to enable this as soon as you can

If you can wait til Gold is on sale and can spare the $150-ish, it’s a great deal. I’ve got Ultimate for 3 years for $5/month. Even if you can only afford one year of Gold, it’s still worth it.

Dolby Vision does still have bugs, you may have to turn off ALLM/something else. There will be a separate check box in your video modes submenu. If anyone can find the list of actual DV games that would be great.

Can't say no to a Castlevania. I hated Aaero.

I finished Avengers in 12 hours and thought the story was pretty good . Like everyone says the action and enemies are repetitive but it is a brainless beat em up so that's to be expected. My biggest issues with the game was the few horrible stealth levels,you don't unlock Captain America til way too late into the game and Hulk's attacks are weak as hell. But with all that said it is the perfect fit for gamepass .
 
Battlefield 2042 Beta is next week. Pre-orders get in on the 6th and 7th.  8th and 9th are open beta.  I gotta call Best Buy to see when codes will go out.  Chat won't help with digital shenanigans.

Thankfully Verizon doesn't have data caps on my plan, they just throttle the shit out of you if/when you are over-active. Doesn't happen very often but about once a month download speeds or 4k streaming goes to shit. I can live with that.

Storage on the Series X, though... that's another story.

Is it really that big? Are there bigger games? Now I am glad I already finished it on PS Now. I streamed it too, and it was still a great experience. If it's available on xCloud when it comes to GP, I highly recommend playing that way.

It will also be open from the 6th for GamePass Ultimate members (via EA Play).
 
Was so close in buying Avengers but I keep tweeting at them to add on GamePass and so now it’ll be on there yay. I wanna get Hot Wheels too but I’m banking it’ll be discounted a little bit by Black Friday.
