• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I ordered 7 extension cords to get over the $35 free shipping threshold from Walmart before black Friday to decorate our front yard, they never showed up and Ontrac just kept saying delayed, will be delivered on (whatever the date of the next day was). After 2 weeks and not needing the cords any longer because I just said f it and bought them at Home Depot Walmart sent a replacement order through Ontrac and it did exactly the same thing. Finally, Walmart just refunded me. Well, a couple days before Christmas 14 extension cords showed up. lol I don't know how Walmart contracts to them, I'll gladly pay more from Amazon not to have to deal with Ontrac and get stuff the next day and usually things aren't even more, unfortunately they were out which is why I used Walmart, never again.

The trial in this week's FH5 playlist is brutal. First race in that fog, hard turns, crazy AI. On about my 5th or 6th try, team had lost the first race, was whittled down to me and another person for the second, which we won with 3rd and 5th place finishes, then the other guy dropped out for the 3rd race, which I won to complete it. Glad that's done.

That's the one I was complaining about and gave up after must've been 10 attempts. Not worth it when I've already finished out the series and have something like 5k shop points with nothing to spend them on. I'm pretty amazed at how incompetent they are at balancing these weekly challenges TBH. Some weeks were a breeze and others complete trash. Whatever, I'm over it until they release more content in an expansion.

a lot of the old codes for delisted games arent codes for the actual game, they're just the amount in currency to buy the game.

I Doubt it. Last time it happened on the monthly 2000 points quest in the Rewards app on XBox it said it was happening, but if that's not there nor is there a tab for it on the Rewards page I say ain't happening.

Olija is pretty good. Bought it for switch when it came out a few months ago….or maybe a year, I have backlog issues. Anyway it’s a side scrolling adventure where you get a magic spear that lets you teleport to it after you throw it. So combat can get crazy (in a good way) as you fling yourself around killing enemies. Once you get the hang of it you can pretty much fight without having to touch the ground. Go check it out.

I've been playing Spelunky 2 daily on PS4, so I'm surprised to see it coming to Xbox and even more surprised to see it on Game Pass.

Frankly, I don't like it as much as the original Spelunky because the physics are a little different, but I'm looking forward to playing it!

Last year they did the 10K twice, in January and May. I looked in my achievement history by date on trueachievements.com since I usually stop at one achievement a day for the most part for the 50 point reward, I looked when I started getting multiple a day and it was on Jan 6th and May 12th. So I say if it's going to happen, it will be anytime over the next week.

I kind of doubt it, but it might be possible. I don't think Sakaguchi or MistWalker would be an issue.

I don't see any potential issues with Lost Odyssey, but they did make it randomly free for a while around the same time as Too Human that legally couldn't be sold, maybe just coincidence.

On Blue Dragon, there were rumors for a long time that Toriyama's involvement caused some kind of legal hurdles with sequels or rereleases, maybe something along those lines?

As far as I know though, Microsoft has 100% rights to the original 360 games. Blue Dragon did get a couple DS sequels.

It is one of my favorite game series of all time. It came out at just the right time to really have a positive impact on my life, culturally and career-wise. I know that the game is somewhat dated now and may not have the same impact, and some people just don't like the slow pace, but I'll still champion Yu Suzuki's masterpiece.

FYI Microsoft has started revoking Dev Mode licenses (the one that lets you sideload homebrew emulators and such) and are enforcing a clause you need a Microsoft Store presence within 90 days of buying it.

Bloomy, I was looking for you to put out some secret info on this seasons "The Trial" in FH5. Brutal is an understatement, just going to have to bash my head against it and hope it works out. Would hate to lose the do all events in a series achievement because of this last week. Anyone found a fav car? I'm not doing to bad in the Ford Escort RS1800 Hoonigan, but teamates have been a let down.

Haha been waiting for enough of them to just quit out, but no luck so far. I did complete a "Trial" once that must have been PC Hackers, dude literally shot away like a rocket from the start line, and then it started the 30 second to race ends counter. Ha need that to happen again to me here.

I went with the Escort RS1800 as well. I upgraded it myself, but had never done any tinkering in the tuning menu. I checked some posted upgrade / tunes and saw people had some with a top speed 20 mph higher than mine with a half second off the 0-60 time, even though the speed rating was lower. I did some tinkering to bump the speed and drop the 0-60, and retried the Trial, but it didn't really help. Might've been able to handle it better without the co-op people, but glad I got it done. And all that for a reward that can be bought in the autoshow (and already had, probably from a wheelspin).

Were you able to do the treasure hunt in the first week? Never got that one to activate for me, I think because I had already done the related expedition or whatever it was tied to, also a bug in a prior week that people have been griping about. I thought the same thing had happened this week because the hunt didn't show up on the map. Then I saw people post on the Forza forums that the playlist tile was a clue to trigger the hunt.

I always hated the appearance of cross country (AI collision bug) and high PI street scene trials in FH4. And that Ambleside road circuit in FH4 can FOAD.

Really sucks about the Dev Mode dying. I'm guessing some publishers caught wind of the emulator possibilities and requested it be killed, or MS themselves thought it was a liability. I haven't heard of any other issues that have cropped up from the option existing.

I couldn't help myself and finished the game tonight rather than waiting. It was a great puzzle game and the concept was really cool, especially towards the end. Lots of quicker games have been added as of late to GP. If there is a 10k quest, maybe I'll convince myself to slog through Race with Ryan and the Paw Patrol game as I've burned through too many as they get added. M$ makes Homer something, something...

Possibly, though I fired it up and messed around with the game a bit so I doubt they’d refund me. They refused when I asked for a refund on DMC5 (it hit GP right after I bought it), and for Just Dance 2021. In both cases, they said because I’d played it I couldn’t get a refund. Neither were for more than 2 hours. I think their refund policy is way stricter than advertised.

Dev Mode isn't dying. They are cracking down on people with no intention of developing apps.
