• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

First off, I think most everyone is now playing FH5 and has left FH4 behind so there doesn't seem to be any veterans left to help out. There seems to be a lot of newbies prob from the integration of PC players cuz that's who I keep getting teamed up with. The car category is S2 998 Hypercars which I hate for these challenges. Just like FH5 last week, this week's FH4's first race is difficult to beat. In all the sessions I've played, we've never come close to winning. The second race is the complete opposite, it's short and we've repeatedly won this easily. The third race, wait for it, The Gauntlet - 3 laps. I don't think I've ever seen it set up for more than one before. Needless to say, we haven't completed it, yet.

I was thinking of a there are no writers, it's all actor-driven content a la 76 no NPC but that makes it even stranger. And yeah actor-driven might just be improv, the bones of a joke are there but not good enough. Hey, it comes full circle back to Fallout level quality.

I like Fiesta because it allows you to be set up for fun. Spawning with sword and grapple or a rocket launcher at the right time is nice. Tactical is my least fav mode, I need more than one gun.

Playing Mafia III on my Series X and hey the game doesn't run like garbage and constantly crash like on my One X! With that being said ugggghhhh I'm at the point where I fully see the tediousness of the game and am feeling it. I Can only get so much joy from luring enemy's to the same spot for them to all die one by one until there's a large pile of bodies clipping through the floor until I get straight up bored.

Also playing on my Mountain Dew piss yellow Series controller and I gotta ask, is it just my controller or do you have to press the guide button dead center to get it to register? Like I feel if I don't press it in hard it doesn't respond most of the time.

I am more of a co-op shooter person and the building mechanic is mostly lost on me. I saw some kind of PvE coop thing and thought that might be a good way to play together and learn the mechanics a bit...

I haven’t touched the creative mode or save the world mode before but I think Save the World did cost something. Battle Royale is free and the only thing you buy are skins for weapons, characters, etc that don’t do anything but change their appearance.
Find out which mode or modes he plays first and you can find plenty of information on those.

Yea no Save the World on Switch, so you don't need to buy anything. If you get into it, you can buy the battle pass and can gift it to him as well. If later you do want Save the World you can buy one of the bundles that includes access to it, the Robo Kevin one up atm has access ($14ish?).

The store page says Optimized for Series X|S. But it's the type of optimization where resolution and framerate options are unlocked for the new consoles rather than extra visual effects. I'm guessing if it's just a matter of resolution/framerate improvements, you can run it off an external.

I made it to the last 10 or so cars. The last zone or maybe second to last. 3/4 the way up the mountain. I drive by two higher level cars. One challenges me. The point is behind me. The way he is facing and about 400 feet. I barely got turned around and it was over. Done with Eliminator until the next seasonal challenge.

Got all the seasonal championships but one out of the way. I guess I should done them first. I bought a car for a challenge that was the rewards for winning one of the championships. lol

But the worst is these playground games. Two of the challenges are that. One is infect one other player. First game is infection (WTF it is called). I don't get a single one. My team lost I believe the first 3 games. But we are forced to play all 5? Not possible to win the event.

I guess it was a good thing I stuck it out the 5th event was that infection thing. With a min or so left to go I still hadn't gotten one. I seriously suck at the playground games. Half the time I am not even sure what the hell I am supposed to be doing. Anyway I finally infect two and get both these stupid challenges done.

One of the seasonal championships I placed 3rd in all 3 races and won. Another I had two 3rds and a win and lost. lol Will get it tomorrow I am sure.

The placement of the challenge endpoint is what I don't get about the Eliminator. I had read it picks the direction one of the people is chasing, which seemed to always go to the other person, but when I did it at the end of the last week, I was trying to evade someone challenging me and the endpoint was behind both of us. I ended up losing that. Haven't tried it for this week. (Last week, I tried to get to the final showdown in the starting Bug for the accolade, but someone in a L5 car challenged me. I was able to beat him and got the accolade for beating someone 3+ levels higher than me.)

I noticed the prize for the cross country championship was the same car needed for the trailblazer. Didn't realize I already had one of those Broncos in my garage. That Rod and Custom Danger Sign is proving tricky. I did manage to set the new CAG group record for that sign thanks to some poor collision detection in Guanajuato. Passed through some buildings and ended up on a street and the game counted it.

I'm surprised the game forced you to finish out the games once one team got to 3. Haven't read through the official forums to see if anyone else mentioned it. Could also just have been a bug. I think early in FH4 they forced you to play out the full 5 rounds, but they fixed that. They never did for the FH4 trials, but the FH5 trials do if one side goes up 2-0.

I fired up FH4 last night for the first time in nearly a month to knock out the play 10 Game Pass games quest.

I'm guessing you mean the Goliath instead of Gauntlet. I don't think the Gauntlet is a circuit route, and taking Hypercars on a giant dirt track would be a pain. I'm pretty sure there was at least 1 trial with a 2 lap Goliath in the past. I saw the trial prize was a Koenigsegg Jesko, the go to speed car in FH5. Do you already have that? I had 2 in my garage. Looks like it was an event prize in series 30 and 36 and was in the Forzathon shop in 33 and 39.

Are you trying in a Forza Edition car? There's an achievement for completing (not necessarily winning) a 3+ lap Goliath in a FE car. There's only 1 FE Hypercar, which is spec'ed at 997 PI. Though it looks like on TA there are some shorter tracks people set up to knock out the achievement.

Just for fun, I tried a trial. Team lost the first 2 races, so I dropped at the start of the Goliath race. I won the first race, and for about 3/4 of the way the team was ahead, but that hard left around the 80% mark probably hurt the guys in 3-4 place and dropped them. Came in second in the 2nd race, got rammed into the wall before getting out of the festival area and, since it's a short track, didn't have enough time to get into the lead. I uploaded my tune for the 2016 Lambo Centenario LP 770-4, though there are probably better ones out there. It was my go to for 998 Hypercars unless there was a make restriction.

Despite not playing in the current series, the game tracked me as completing a seasonal championship in summer, fall and winter as well as the fall and winter trials. Guess they're reusing some internal race ID.

At this point, after messing with tons of games on Series X, I think it is safe to say that if a fully updated game can be launched from external then there is no reason to move it to the internal. The system won't let you play games from the external if they need the internal drive for their enhancements, and the system warns you that they won't be playable if you try to move them off for storage.

On Xbox One X, Quality Mode targets 4K/30fps while Series X bumps up to 4K/60fps

In Performance Mode, the 1440p/60fps target is upgraded to 1440p/120fps

I'm probably the person with the most time in the game in this thread, max power level in STW, completed the previous 15 battle passes, somewhere around 1500 hours in-game. Feel free to ask me questions here or on XBL any time.

As mentioned, if he's on Switch then your options are limited. Save the World is the PVE mode you're thinking of, but it isn't available on Switch or mobile. If you did want to get into that, you now have to buy whatever STW Access pack is in rotation at the time for $16, currently the Robo-Kevin Pack. These are available for a few months at a time and usually drop to $12 shortly before the next one comes out.

I also would not say STW is a great tool for learning the basics. While building and shooting is mostly the same, the overall mechanics of BR have diverged pretty significantly at this point. In my experience, most kids bounce off of STW as it takes a while to be able to make the "cool" weapons.

There have been official co-op modes in Battle Royale before, but they're generally limited time events for Halloween. They're fairly limited though, think Halo FireFight instead of a full-blown feature set.

Creative mode is pretty powerful. A lot of younger players tend to stick to basic modes for their friend groups as you described, custom games on custom maps like you'd see in more traditional shooters. There are cooperative modes available in here, but they are usually somewhat scuffed in implementation due to the limitations of the tools. There are zombie killing modes, Survival games, I've even played some fishing games. Unfortunately though, I don't know a good resource to find the stuff, I just use the curation in the game menus to find stuff for the most part.

If you aren't into the modes he played with his friends, you likely could find something in game you'd both like. There are pretty solid racing modes, and there is a fully featured Among Us clone available called Imposters.

Yeah, I was the same way. Since the playlists started until the current series, I missed 2 dailies. I have to clear out a big backlog of pending cars because my garage is full. I think I have all the preorder cars and all the other hard to find stuff, but never went through everything. Never bought the Hot Wheels pack they put out late in game's life. Again, would need to clear out a bunch of space in the garage for them.

But had to stop doing them sometime. I imagine there will be a pretty big backlash if they end support for the game without keeping the playlist going in some way since there's achievements tied to it. Not that Forza games haven't had achievements become unobtainable in the past, but a little more forethought would be nice as they've moved to a service oriented model. Gears 4 had the event weapon skins that they made craftable after support ended and Gears 5 went to a generic tour so related achievements remained available.

Also found out that a couple of the FH5 Arcade accolades (complete 5 in 24 hours and complete 10 in 5 hours) need to be done without fast traveling or changing cars. Thought it was odd the tracker would show 1 event then reset. I'm enjoying my Series X, but Jesus downloading and updating games is still 100% the same garbage nonsense as the last gen consoles. Pausing all downloads means it should pause all the damn downloads, not certain random ones or using the Game Pass app to download games should not be a hit or miss affair (mostly miss). Like really I got more complaints, but they all just center on how shoddy the downloading portion is and don't know how they're still a problem this many years later.

Also WHY does the Store need to update every damn day??

Accolades are like achievements for me - I hope I complete them just playing the game unless there's something specific I want to complete. It looks like I completed the 5 in 24 but still have the 10 in 5 to do. I'll work on that since I'm aware of it now. I've been using the Hoonigan RS200 and only playing the drift events.

We got the FH4 Trial completed. We won the first two races with everyone. We lost two on the Goliath stage. I hope they didn't drop out by choice since they would have completed it.

Also found out that a couple of the FH5 Arcade accolades (complete 5 in 24 hours and complete 10 in 5 hours) need to be done without fast traveling or changing cars. Thought it was odd the tracker would show 1 event then reset. The time wasn't completely wasted since I knocked out a number of the Arcade car / type accolades, but the description could've been a bit more clear. The Hoonigan RS200 should be able to handle it.

The 10 in 5 is proving more difficult than I thought. It literally means you can't do anything else or the counter resets. Here's what I've noticed so far.

- You get disconnected for any reason (yours or the game)

- You fast travel between events

- You change cars for any reason (found this out when I was trying to use my Skill Points on another car)

It's even more difficult when there are freeloaders. I started one and two freeloaders drove in and out and didn't even help and it was just getting drift skills which is easy.

Also took a crack at the tough Rivals accolades. There are ones for posting a top 5% time at any course in each class except X. There are top 10% and 50% ones as well, but the 5% ones give cars. I made top 5% previously for A and S1 on the Playa Azul circuit (east coast, little north of the Goliath), though one of those times is now top 6%. Made top 3% S2 there with a stock Lambo Sesta FE as well as top 5% in B class. Still looking for C and D class cars to finish that out, or maybe another track would be better, like a high acceleration car on a drag strip. There are some other accolades for beating class ghosts a number of times. It looks like you can cheese those on a circuit track if you cross the finish, rewind and cross it again. Time just appears to count for that, not clean / dirty lap status. The rest of the Rival accolades appear to just be setting clean times on all the courses, which will come in time.

The disconnects have been happening more frequently the last two weeks. I don't recall it happening much before that.

Saw Spider-man today practically spoiler free. It was fine. The ending made as much sense as the comic it took it's idea from where I just look around and say "Wait. What? I..what?"

I'd get disconnected immediately after booting up the game just sitting in the season menu, like clockwork every single day I played. Then it would happen at random while freeroaming all the time, I just got used to it being complete shit TBH. Granted while in events I think it only happened once or twice, and normally right near the start of the event so at least I wasn't completely ed over.

MoK has been a bloodbath, and I've greatly enjoyed every minute of it. I don't know how Jeremy Renner was in two shows at the same time, but I've been a fan of both of them.

The bloodbath was fun but the whole thing ended very anticlimactically imo. Hopefully season 2 does something good with it.

This season seemed unnecessary but the ending was good for Dexter. Exactly what I thought would happen because there was basically only one way for it to end to give the fans the ending they needed or whatever was said about this final season. There is a lot that seems to have been cut out or just forgotten about that bothers me. I will not get into spoils there. But some events that happened it would have been nice to see how. Also, it would be nice to see what happened after. But the actual ending of Dexter I liked. I was worried it would be a more 2020's PC friendly ending but it was not.

Will probably watch Mayor of Kingstown at some point. Set my parents up with a Roku over Christmas so they could use HBO Max from their cable subscription and a bunch of shows they wanted to see are on Paramount+ (Major of Kingstown, 1883, Seal Team). Though it looks like the first few episodes of 1883 have also aired a week later on the Paramount channel and CMT. Wonder if that will continue, and if I'll hear griping from my dad about that. Already got a call from him because the service didn't run a new episode last week and my dad thought he messed something up.

The new seasons for Euphoria and Righteous Gemstones both got off to good starts on HBO.
