• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Ive played every AC as they came out and while I miss the stealth focus in the older games, Origins and Odyssey were spectacular. As much I love the franchise, Valhalla was a slog and I wouldn’t have finished it if it hadn’t been released when the X came out. I’ve lost all interest in any future AC games now.

I burnt on AC even before Origins. I used to love these games but year after year (or every other year at the end) I just lost interest. Pretty sure I own Odyssey and played like an hour. Same with COD.

If read people who have either a credit card or Paypal linked to their 360 account have some luck being able to buy it, if you merely just have Microsoft credit on there it's a weird no go for some reason. Besides that, if it ain't working still your best bet is to buy it on a relic of the past known as an actual XBox 360 console.

For years I have had a Visa GC on my MS account with a few cents on it. It would let me "buy" the 360 game that was part of GWG. Or something like that.

Perhaps a low balance Visa GC would work here for those who don't want to put in a credit card? Just thinking out loud.

I burnt on AC even before Origins. I used to love these games but year after year (or every other year at the end) I just lost interest. Pretty sure I own Odyssey and played like an hour. Same with COD.

Kind of the same boat with me. The only difference is I played the hell out of Origins. I put a lot of hours into that game and was looking forward to Odyssey. Odyssey I tried to play on two different occasions and total maybe have five hours into it and I just have no interest in continuing. Valhalla I rented from GameFly when I had a $1 month and the stamina bar they added just made me play for a few minutes and know I do not want anything to do with that game.

I was pretty sick when Syndicate came out and was a bit burnt out after Unity so I had an unintentional break from them for a bit. Syndicate was good and is overlooked. The formula was getting stale so I understand the change in gameplay. As much as I loved AC, it’s just like a tv show you love that keeps coming out when they should have stopped 5 seasons ago.

I Remember about a decade ago or so how Ubisoft's CEO Guillemot Yves at a financial call was bringing up how franchise fatigue wasn't a thing and how if anything, they should be releasing more franchise titles more often to condition the player to buy the newest iteration as soon as it comes out and if anything this will lead to more sales for future and older titles. What I'm saying is obviously that business strategy worked out and now they're more successful than ever*!!

Guys, I'm feeling the hype bug like I did last year with Elden Ring. Took a big chance on that one but it really worked out.

Am I stupid for considering pre-ordering Hogwarts? Not an HP fan (don't dislike it, just not into it), but the game looks good.

I'm also more prone to impulsive purchases around this time of year since it's my birthday month and February has historically been full of serious heartbreak and disappointment.

I wouldn't say so, and TIL it was from Avalanche aka Just Cause series so that's saying something. If it was multiplayer, my wife would be informing me we're playing it and I'd be getting it now. But since it's just SP, easy pass for us. Diablo IV is not that far off now and open beta could be next month. That's a hype train we will not be missing.

Nope, not worth it. Mostly cosmetic with it’s own stats you can upgrade if you really want, but you will be collecting so many different armor pieces throughout the game that you will soon move on anyway.

I finally went through all 46 NA games (47 are listed because I can't tell which Prince of Persia is getting delisted) looking for DLC. Here's what I found. Some are free so you might as well grab those. Don't have that free DLC fully documented. Some have season passes but not enough time to document what those all encompass. One thing I did notice is that the AC3 SP looks useless. You have to activate the actual DLC in game, but Ubisoft disabled the in-game store back in October 2022. Then there's countless gamer pictures, themes, avatar clothes, and videos disappearing.

Currently downloading Assassin's Creed 3 and 4 on my Series X to see if the passes pick up on the covered DLCs.

The soon-to-be de-listed 360 games are still up on the 360 Marketplace as of this morning.  I used my Paypal balance to purchase the rest of the Castle Crashers DLC since I already owned the 360 version and the free DLC.  And yes, I own the Xbox One version.  :shock:

How did you accidentally buy it? You would have had to hit "Confirm Purchase". Anyway, you won't be able to get a refund if it already started downloading, which I think begins immediately on console. If you bought it on the webstore, then you may be granted a one-time exception if you haven't gotten a refund before.

I ended up getting L4D2 and the Cold Stream dlc(for the L4D1 campaign), jet set radio(loved this game as a kid), and the orange box. Not sure if I'll end up playing half life 2 anytime soon, but played half life 2 as a kid and want to play through the whole experience at some point. I also want to see if anyone is playing TF2. I've never played it and it'd be neat to try it out. I doubt anyone plays it on Xbox anymore though.

How did you accumulate those credits? I'm about to drop some bad news on you if it's a bunch of $5 and $10 credits

Essentially, if you have more than 16 "gift cards" that make up your Microsoft balance, you are SOL.

If you tried to process the transaction again, it might accidentally charge your backup payment instead. Highly recommended to remove any other payment options from your account before you proceed. You don't want to get caught in a situation where you make a purchase with another payment method, refund it, and then when you try to make another purchase you can't because you're limited to 1 Xbox Series X per year. Ask me how I know

Nope. It said free. It was supposed to be Free for Playstation +. It said free on my screen. ! click buy. I haven't had my Playstation plugged in for about a year now. I just go to the website and add the free games to my collection.
