• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

La Cruz Danger Sign - S2 998 Anything - 754.6 feet (3 stars is 650) - Hit 904.75 first try with the untuned rally 2019 Rimac Concept Two (551 707 630).  Started back at the 3 way intersection NE of the sign and left the cliff at 226 mph.  Try to angle your approach so you're aiming to land outside of the left flag.  The ground slopes downhill that direction and can keep you airborne a bit longer.  If your front end or either side is angled down, let the jump play out.  You may slide / roll when you hit the ground and extend the jump.  Tried more with my different Rimac tunes.  The tuned one (167 202 516) hit 1,064 in a clean attempt, then 1,094 when the car somersaulted after hitting the ground but it didn't fail.  Race tune (131 655 301) managed 1,113.  Then back to rally and hit 1,126.21.

Just to be clear, it was Sony that started that "lie". They created a fake market called "High Performance Consoles" implying that Nintendo does not compete in that market so making Call of Duty exclusive would not affect them. This is why Microsoft out offering COD contract to everyone to try to prove that they are not trying to make COD exclusive to Xbox. They didn't make Minecraft exclusive so there's no reason to think that they would.

MS are just using the definition that Sony created. By that definition Sony does indeed control 80% of UK Market, Xbox 20%. Worldwide it's 70%/30% in favor of Sony. MS are trying to paint themselves as weak in order to that Anti-Trust law does not apply here as MS does not come anywhere close to being a Monopoly. On the other hand it could also backfire if the CMA believes even for a second that MS would make COD exclusive then that would affect 80% of Playstation gamers.

Remember it is Sony that is giving the CMA and FTC all of their talking points. They are trying to sabotage this deal from going through. Sony can either accept the 10 year deal or fight this all way and expose all of their 3rd party deals they have been making over the last 4 years exposing themselves as hypocrites and burning every bridge in the process. Regardless of the outcome, Activision will not do business with Sony ever again and I can see Microsoft getting COD exclusive content and marketing rights going forward, same as Sony has done since 2015.

Turns out it's Unreal and not the Y0 engine but it still has a completely different, and imo much worse feel. Dragon engine felt fantastic and I definitely think I'm gonna miss that. Maybe the combat and gameplay will improve as I play more but off the bat it felt like a step backwards for sure

I Think it's more Unreal skin over Y0 engine since watching Digital Foundry the animation and movement is nearly identical to the original (minus the recasting), but with more added detail (particularly in cutscenes). While it still has some hallmarks of the old engine showing it's age as well (anti aliasing is still not the best, particularly in mid day areas where there's shade and you see weird white corners sticking out). I Think this game is also them just dipping their toes into Unreal since this is their first game using Unreal from here on out since they're dropping the Dragon engine so this is just them getting warmed up with something familiar. Also they're currently working on two other games right now that we know of so the fact we even got QOL and small additions here and there along with some new mini games is a small nice bare minimum. In the very least it's no where as bad as 3, 4 and most of 5.

As for combat, yeah it's slower and I do miss running away from battles mid battle or taking it into a store or restauraunt and making a mess of things, but with Ishin I feel they want more emphasis on dodging and parrying compared to other Yakuza games. So hence the slowness of combat, but with that said Saito/Kiryu still having a dilemma of killing despite playing like an asshole and shooting people until they fall to the ground and continue to shoot at them while they struggle to get up will never not be hilarious to me.

I Will say though, majority of substories be lacking. So be disappointed by that. Most of them are just building up friendship shit.

The shift already happened long ago, but now I'm able to embrace it for games that I end up liking and want to support through customization. The way I see it, everyone's happy.

So I got about five minutes into Wo Long and was bored. I think Elden Ring has actually ruined these type of games for me because the moment I smell claustrophobic game walls closing in, I just stop caring. It could also be that Nioh 2 clicked better with me and I've had my fill of ninja/samurai games for a while. Give the Digital Foundry analysis a watch. It's pretty interesting as I didn't realize how close it was to the original game.

Like bardockkun said, they are just dipping their toes into Unreal which is the perfect engine to use for a remake that doesn't deviate significantly from the original design, especially given how "rigid" the old engine was. I think Dragon Engine still has legs though depending on the game they want to make; I love the wacky physics and seamless transition from going outdoors to indoors. That engine was designed to be used in the city/urban environment.

Now, if they wanted to make a more open world type of game that takes place outside a city or with very little urban environments (like say Saejima's hunting missions in Yakuza 5), then they could specialize their Unreal Engine for that. Or just keep using it for more remakes while iterating on the engine some more for the eventual transition. Or maybe they can just have the old guard keep working on Dragon Engine while the new blood can work on more experimental and quick to iterate projects in UE (after all, RGG is under new management now that Nagoshi left)

I got through the first boss in Wo Long.

-I was level 10 and 25 morale helps a ton.   

-If you quit the game fast enough, you can load up at that checkpoint with the full morale again.

-I used the Wooden Cudgel weapon.

-Wail on him with X and only Press Y for a big attack instead of parry when you see the red at least in phase 1.

-Phase 2, don't hold back attack a lot and block when he does any attack.  

-Press Y for a big attack when your blue bar is full

-He will jump back and that's whey you get ready to parry his attack and do more damage. 

-At half health your AI friend will say something and a new icon will show up right of your martial arts icons

-Press Y+B when that icon is lit up and the fight will be over.

This morning, I bought all the DLC and the upgrade, but I still haven't opened my Series X that I'm saving for my birthday next week.

So, perhaps by then, I'll see what all the hype is about regarding the upgrade.

You're also only really supposed to use your ammo to trigger melee prompts if possible (shooting at a knee cap, head, etc) and then run up to them and melee for easy kills and it gives invincibility frames. RE4 is one of the easier survival horror games, and IMO one of the easiest Resident Evils. They give tons of ammo as well, so while you really shouldn't be wasting it.. you don't need to run from everything (aside from specific situations like that town sequence). That's how the original was anyway, I'm not expecting the remake to be much harder on normal difficulty

Can confirm, at least on PS5, that the performance is awful! I fired it up last night, couldn't play longer than about 15 minutes. Those framerate drops are horrible and are constantly happening

Thursday, neither the daily 50 pointer nor the Women's History Month 100 pointer picked up on an achievement. The 50 point daily worked for me yesterday and today. The Women's History Month card checked off the achievement yesterday and I had checked off the 2 organization punches on Thursday. So everything's checked, but the 100 points hasn't worked and the punchcard itself isn't checked. Haven't tried the Powerful Women one yet.

Silicon Valley Bank has failed following a run on deposits, after its parent company’s share price crashed a record 60% on Thursday.

Trading of SVB Financial Group’s SIVB stock was halted early Friday, after the shares plunged again in premarket trading. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said SVB was one of a few banks she was “monitoring very carefully.” Reaction poured in from several analysts who discussed the bank’s liquidity risk.

California regulators closed Silicon Valley Bank and handed the wreckage over to the Federal Deposit Insurance Administration later on Friday.

Below is the same list of 10 banks we highlighted on Thursday that showed similar red flags to those shown by SVB Financial through the fourth quarter. This time, we will show how much they reported in unrealized losses on securities — an item that played an important role in SVB’s crisis.

Below that is a screen of U.S. banks with at least $10 billion in total assets, showing those that appeared to have the greatest exposure to unrealized securities losses, as a percentage of total capital, as of Dec. 31.

First, a quick look at SVB
Some media reports have referred to SVB of Santa Clara, Calif., as a small bank, but it had $212 billion in total assets as of Dec. 31, making it the 17th largest bank in the Russell 3000 Index RUA as of Dec. 31. That makes it the largest U.S. bank failure since Washington Mutual in 2008.

One unique aspect of SVB was its decades-long focus on the venture capital industry. The bank’s loan growth had been slowing as interest rates rose. Meanwhile, when announcing its $21 billion dollars in securities sales on Thursday, SVB said it had taken the action not only to lower its interest-rate risk, but because “client cash burn has remained elevated and increased further in February, resulting in lower deposits than forecasted.”

SVB estimated it would book a $1.8 billion loss on the securities sale and said it would raise $2.25 billion in capital through two offerings of new shares and a convertible bond offering. That offering wasn’t completed.

So this appears to be an example of what can go wrong with a bank focused on a particular industry. The combination of a balance sheet heavy with securities and relatively light on loans, in a rising-rate environment in which bond prices have declined and in which depositors specific to that industry are themselves suffering from a decline in cash, led to a liquidity problem.

Unrealized losses on securities
Banks leverage their capital by gathering deposits or borrowing money either to lend the money out or purchase securities. They earn the spread between their average yield on loans and investments and their average cost for funds.

The securities investments are held in two buckets:

• Available for sale — these securities (mostly bonds) can be sold at any time, and under accounting rules are required to be marked to market each quarter. This means gains or losses are recorded for the AFS portfolio continually. The accumulated gains are added to, or losses subtracted from, total equity capital.
• Held to maturity — these are bonds a bank intends to hold until they are repaid at face value. They are carried at cost and not marked to market each quarter.

In its regulatory Consolidated Financial Statements for Holding Companies—FR Y-9C, filed with the Federal Reserve, SVB Financial, reported a negative $1.911 billion in accumulated other comprehensive income as of Dec. 31. That is line 26.b on Schedule HC of the report, for those keeping score at home. You can look up regulatory reports for any U.S. bank holding company, savings and loan holding company or subsidiary institution at the Federal Financial Institution Examination Council’s National Information Center. Be sure to get the name of the company or institution right — or you may be looking at the wrong entity.

Here’s how accumulated other comprehensive income (AOCI) is defined in the report: “Includes, but is not limited to, net unrealized holding gains (losses) on available-for-sale securities, accumulated net gains (losses) on cash flow hedges, cumulative foreign currency translation adjustments, and accumulated defined benefit pension and other postretirement plan adjustments.”

In other words, it was mostly unrealized losses on SVB’s available-for-sale securities. The bank booked an estimated $1.8 billion loss when selling “substantially all” of these securities on March 8.

On the regulatory call reports, AOCI is added to regulatory capital. Since SVB’s AOCI was negative (because of its unrealized losses on AFS securities) as of Dec. 31, it lowered the company’s total equity capital. So a fair way to gauge the negative AOCI to the bank’s total equity capital would be to divide the negative AOCI by total equity capital less AOCI — effectively adding the unrealized losses back to total equity capital for the calculation.

Getting back to our list of 10 banks that raised similar red margin flags to those of SVB, here’s the same group, in the same order, showing negative AOCI as a percentage of total equity capital as of Dec. 31. We have added SVB to the bottom of the list. The data was provided by FactSet:

Ally Financial Inc. ALLY — the third largest bank on the list by Dec. 31 total assets — stands out as having the largest percentage of negative accumulated comprehensive income relative to total equity capital as of Dec. 31.

To be sure, these numbers don’t mean that a bank is in trouble, or that it will be forced to sell securities for big losses. But SVB had both a troubling pattern for its interest margins and what appeared to be a relatively high percentage of securities losses relative to capital as of Dec. 31.

There are 108 banks in the Russell 3000 Index RUA that had total assets of at least $10.0 billion as of Dec. 31. FactSet provided AOCI and total equity capital data for 105 of them. Here are the 20 which had the highest ratios of negative AOCI to total equity capital less AOCI (as explained above) as of Dec. 31:

Again, this is not to suggest that any particular bank on this list based on Dec. 31 data is facing the type of perfect storm that has hurt SVB Financial. A bank sitting on large paper losses on its AFS securities may not need to sell them. In fact Comerica Inc. CMA, which tops the list, also improved its interest margin the most over the past four quarters, as shown here.

But it is interesting to note that Silvergate Capital Corp. SI, which focused on serving clients in the virtual currency industry, made the list. It is shuttering its bank subsidiary voluntarily.

Another bank on the list facing concern among depositors is Signature Bank SBNY of New York, which has a diverse business model, but has also faced a backlash related to the services it provides to the virtual currency industry. The bank’s shares fell 12% on Thursday and were down another 24% in afternoon trading on Friday.

Signature Bank said in a statement that it was in a “strong, well-diversified financial position.”
