• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I got an email from Microsoft Rewards today that "We're reaching out to let you know we ran into some issues trying to process your recent order. As a result, we've canceled your order".

That should be referring to my monthly $10 auto redeem. Looking at my balance though, I have $10 expiring July 29, which I think would be the correct 90-day expiration date for a reward redeemed today. Can anyone confirm the expire date on their auto redeem from today?

Ever since I started transitioning my collection to all digital this year, this has been the single-most rewarding aspect each month. Last month I grabbed Mummy 4k and Mallrats; 12 Monkeys and Snow White this time. Still have over 4k points for the next few months, but did just abuse D2D to pick up Conan the Barbarian for $2 and some more points. It's still insane to me how cheap and easy it is to collect movies this way following a rule of $2 HDX/$5 UHD.

I got an email from Microsoft Rewards today that "We're reaching out to let you know we ran into some issues trying to process your recent order. As a result, we've canceled your order".

That should be referring to my monthly $10 auto redeem. Looking at my balance though, I have $10 expiring July 29, which I think would be the correct 90-day expiration date for a reward redeemed today. Can anyone confirm the expire date on their auto redeem from today?

That's when my $10 from today is expiring.

Deathloop, Ghostwire Tokyo and now this makes me very nervous about Starfield.

Deathloop and Ghostwire were PS exclusive before, so that's not really on MS. I liked Deathloop and have not got around to Ghostwire yet, but seems like a dev trying something different. I know people want another third person action game such as the one genre at Sony, but I like the variety. Even if a bit janky at times.

Ever since I started transitioning my collection to all digital this year, this has been the single-most rewarding aspect each month. Last month I grabbed Mummy 4k and Mallrats; 12 Monkeys and Snow White this time. Still have over 4k points for the next few months, but did just abuse D2D to pick up Conan the Barbarian for $2 and some more points. It's still insane to me how cheap and easy it is to collect movies this way following a rule of $2 HDX/$5 UHD.

Now I just need to be on top of Vudu GC deals, or apple credit for MA deals on movies that might get a 4k release.

This has pretty much been my method as well. While I have a lot of non-MA content locked into VUDU, I think Apple is overall a better place to buy things considering they now have a Roku app and free 4k upgrades.

MS also gets a nod because you can get $10 auto redeemed every month, $5 for $10 Xbox credit at Gamestop once a month, plus the 3 movie punchcard for 2,500 points

See and that’s stupid. To me, even with the “budget” price it certainly felt every bit of a AAA game experience and think it will be remembered come awards time. Deservingly so.

Damn. I got excited a lot of the games I never see on sale were going to get picked up.

I usually have a reasonable number that bumps up once or twice. It'll be like "21 games on sale" and then bump up to 23 or 24. Never checked if the numbers matched since they seemed accurate.

Played some of Redfall and it’s not horrible but not great either. I’ll probably play though it when the 60 FPS patch comes. Would have lived with 30 if it was incredible but no longer have the FOMO if I wait.

Might bite on Guardians of the Galaxy in this week's sale since I didn't finish it before it left Game Pass.  Tetris Effect: Connected is another possibility.  I finished the achievements a while back, so that's not hanging over my head.  Can just rely on Tetris 99 for my Tetris fix.

You remember Mass Effect, right? Imagine Mass Effect, but clunky instead of tight, plain instead of beautiful, and with characters that are thoroughly forgettable instead of compelling. It's like a Mass Effect that never came out of the ocean and grew legs.

Started Vampire Survivors last week, and actually bought it along with the two DLCs, it's really fun so far, not even playing for achievements really they just pop anyways, since there's quit a few lol. Not regretting my purchases.

As for B4B I bought the Deluxe Edition..I think two weeks ago? For $7.70 on Gameflip..just in case the main game leaves GP... so me and my buddy can jump back in soon.

Redfall being a bust was pretty much expected as it never looked great. The only real surprise here is the state it was released in. That is actually mind-boggling for a first party release and not acceptable. As for who to blame, uncertain as Arkane has never impressed from day one with Dishonored lacking a finite identity and shoehorned morality system that amounted to nothing. Redfall has been equally called out for not coming together as a game, but is now more blatantly obvious given the scrutiny.

I'll play it because Game Pass, but it was never getting a purchase in the first place.

All this talk about Redfall being medicore and I'm just mad at all the 17 point achievements (20) they included in the game.  I haven't tried it yet and I'm probably not going to rush to play it anytime soon and just focus on games I bought recently.  Jedi Survivor (PS5) and Dead Island 2 (XSX).

As for other gamepass games, I am really excited for Ravenlok, I really enjoyed their previous games Echo Generation and Riverbond.  I also need to play the Last Case of Benedict Fox, Ghost Song and finish Gungrave Gore which I have been enjoying.

Different set of expectations. Redfall was revealed and hyped at a couple E3's, Hi-Fi Rush was shadow dropped the day it was announced. Redfall is the first $70 game from Microsoft (they picked a hell of a game to go next gen pricing with), HFR is $30. I realize none of that matters to us that have an Xbox and sub to GP already, but the bigger releases are meant to be system and subscription sellers. I don't think Redfall's critical reception and bad word of mouth are going to do either.

Xbox fans are starving for some good news, between the Activision deal being 99% dead and Redfall being a dud. Many are hoping Starfield isn't released as a giant technical mess. Hopefully the June showcase is big. Give us more than a Sea of Thieves trailer and a closeup of Senua's face!

It’s kind of funny you say that because there were a lot of articles when Hi-Fi Rush came out that said it was exactly that. Good news for Xbox fans when it needed it. Wasn’t just some $30 game Microsoft put on GamePass. But brush it off however you want to fit your narrative.

Hi-Fi Rush isn't some sort of 'gotcha' when it comes to the state of Microsoft's AAA output.  I acknowledge that Hi-Fi Rush was a bright spot for Microsoft and will just conclude that they need more of those and less Redfalls going forward to build momentum and change perception.

I never got the impression Redfall was supposed to be a huge release nor a system seller. I was interested in playing it but never saw enough of a PR push to make it be a spotlighted game.
