XBOX Live Marketplace Discussion

It's a Lucas Arts game, I'm sure there's nothing to worry about competition, plus they are 2 entirely different game types.

I don't "get" the tower defense games, but I've heard that SP has another factor to it that makes it different. I sure hope so.

Lucidity on the other hand is an instant buy for me.

Decent version of Bust A Move. Though it should be expected, there is going to be DLC for it as once you buy it (it doesn't tell you about there being DLC until after you buy it), it lists 2 packs of extra single player levels. They didn't completely gimp the game though as there is still 24 levels that are spread out in a triangle pattern and then there is the infinity mode which would be the main single player mode anyways. The online multiplayer is pretty smooth but expect to get your ass kicked by the Japanese

think this is kinda interesting. The people who made Big Bang Mini for the DS released a game in the indies section called Arkedo Series - 01 JUMP!
That looks like a lot of fun, and it's only $3!
just to warn you, that shit gets really hard. And no continues doesn't help either. Fun game though with a lot of charm
anyone play Lucidity?
I just played the Demo and didn't like it. I hadn't heard anything about it but it looked pretty cool. Not my type of game. The girl keeps going and you have to put objects so she doesn't get stuck (i only got 3 levels into the demo and had had enough)

5th Cell (Drawn To Life & Scribblenauts) making a game for Live?

What kind of scale are you looking at on console?

JS: Right now, we're making a $120 million... No, I'm just kidding. [laughs] We're doing an Xbox Live Arcade title next, and it's going to be pretty big. It's going to be really cool. We're very excited about it. It'll be cool.

ummm....yeah, that doesn't look that great

FYI
Weapon Of Choice has dropped its price from its original 400MSP ($5) price point to 240MSP ($3).

Cool game worth the $3 i think.
got this from gamerbytes.com

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/g...-9115-d8025855031e/?p=1&of=0&bt=0&sb=1#offers
this game is pretty cool!! I saw it and wanted to make a thread about it... but there's honestly not much to the game...

I got interested in it coz apparently it made sum1 rage quit and write a review on it:

http://www.destructoid.com/review-jump--151626.phtml

that and coz the game looks gorgeous as all heck.

anyway, despite what the review says, the game is hella easy imo. no challenge at all, but the stage design is good enough for it to be fun for me... which to other gamers prolly translates to the game is hard since I am freakin AWESOME like that.

the game is called jump coz that's basically all u do in the game... there's like 5 swords in the game u can collect and use as weapons but there isnt a single point in the game that requires you to use one... I actually ended up using a total of 2 of them during my playthru.

game is 30 stages. once u beat them, u unlock a stage select mode which rewards you for collecting all the items in the stage (as if I didnt already do that on my first play thru) and once u complete all the stages again you unlock stage 31. FYI, swords are unavailable in stage select/challenge mode.

Stage 31 is the only difficult level in the entire game... lots of randomness and cheapness in certain parts, but still very beatable.

anyway, Big Bang Mini is awesome thus Arkedo is awesome and I recommend this game!! I really look forward to the rest of the stuff theyll be doing on XBL!

another game I want to point out in the Indie game section is Crosstown. Now, I have a hard time recommending it at 400 points but the game is pretty sweet with a really cool presentation. Gameplay-wise, its a mix of Pac-Man (you run around collecting stuff to clear the map) and Dig Dug (you can create your own path through the walls) with a shooting mechanic (which is a bit tricky as if you shoot and it doesn't hit an enemy or a wall, it keeps going down the screen till it hits something). The presentation is really cool, starts off with FMV of someone sliding an old school floppy into a computer and it boots up into an 8-bit game with a tv screen as a border.

Really cool game...just wish it was cheaper

also, really hope Panzer General turns out well

I know this has been discussed somewhere but I can't find it.. Is there a way to add a small ammount of Microsoft points to your account?

I want to buy the Abbey Road album and it costs 1360 space buck, and I have 1300 in my account.

Not unless you find someone that has promotional points in small denomination for trade or sale. If I recall correctly, the lowest you can purchase, is 400pts for $5 through the XBOX Live Marketplace.

the second game in the Arkedo series got released in the Indie game section

hmm they said they were going to keep the 8-bit look but this one doesn't have the pixelated graphics

A developer friend told me that part of the rule changes are that no new Indie game can cost more than 400 points, unless it already does. There may be a cut off date, like in a month, that it's enforced though.

Oh and if you update your game that happens to cost 800 points, it will automatically drop it to 400 points.
Did anyone else get accepted into the XBOX Live Rewards program?
I think I became exempt from that when I downloaded hundreds of demos but only bought a handful of games . Short answer, no. Did you join?

Did you know you can still go to the old Video Marketplace by going to the Video Marketplace tab, going over 1 or 2 spaces and then pressing Y? I'm amazed they didn't remove that.

new Johnny Platform game was released. 100 stages in this one. Wish it was a buck like the first game but $3 isn't too bad. Stages are more complex and get harder faster than the first game.

Also, the demo of Qix++ is quite solid. Going to have to wait till the weekend to buy it

Shadow Complex will 800 points from Dec. 21 to 27th
The Maw will be 400 points from Dec. 28th through that week

Also, Gears 1, Lost Planet Colonies Edition, DMC4 and VP: Party Animals are coming to GoD.
