I thought I read you need to be on Wireless to get system updates....who knows. Maybe I'm missing a setting or something. I've had this issue since Day 1....also already replaced my console once. Maybe my settings are screwed up or something....

PS4 had a pretty huge drop off point from June, (It sold 269k in June) and I find that really odd considering The Last of Us was said to sell really well in its early days. Guess we'll have to see August NPD to see exactly how much of a difference it made.

Agreed. August will indeed be an interesting month. Depending on how well the Madden bundle sells X1 might make a decent showing. Especially when coupled with folks holding off for the Destiny bundle in September the gap might be smaller than it has been all year. On the other hand, September will be a huge month for the PS4 (would not be shocked if it outsold X1 ~2:1). OCT/NOV are when things will should heat up.

Very impressed with how well The Last of Us did. Remasters are here to stay. On the other hand software sales being down 17% YoY which is kind of a bummer.

On a global level, I am intrigued to see how X1 does in China. I expect it to bomb but who knows.

It wasn't that huge of a drop off when you consider June was a 5 week reporting month and July was only 4 weeks.

PS4:

269 / 5 = 53.8 a week

187 / 4 = 46.7 a week

13% drop

Xbox One:

197 / 5 = 39.4 a week

131 / 4 = 32.8 a week

17% drop

 
Does anyone see any possibility of South Park Stick of Truth coming to the Xbox One?

I think no way but with GTA V, walking dead season 2 and Wolf Among Us coming, I figure it's not 100% out of the question.

no and here is why... the development of it was one of the worst a game that has been released has ever had. I don't believe the team behind it is even around anymore if someone was to correct me on it? We were lucky to even get it at all, so i am pleased by that, but having it come to next gen would be a pipe dream I am afraid.

Development had nothing to do with. THQ as a publisher folded due to the number of games like the Stick of Truth that failed to sell.

 
What's the best external hard drive to get right now for the one? I had to uninstall Dead Rising 3 and Ghosts to get ready for the September/October madness. Looking at 1-2TBs.

Wait until BF if you want a bargain. You can easily pick one up a 3-4TB for under $100.

Western Digital My Book or Segate should be fine.

There's not much point of a re-release of Stick of Truth unless it's as a digital download of the original game.  I mean, it's South Park.  The animation isn't going to get much smoother / HD looking.  Ha.

I have not run across a re-release that hasn't made the game look better.  Usually significantly.  But then again, I don't play many of them unless I never played the original.

I bought a 2 tb Seagate that Major Nelson recommended on his site. No complaints so far and it was about $70 on Amazon. Not high end, but I figure when I buy larger I'll get a higher rpm. Seems like every hard drive brand is going to have people that have run into failures at some point.

Excellent for the price. I have an older model of this one and have no issues with it.

$80 for the 2TB or if you can spend the extra $20 you can get the 3TB. 4TB is an extra $40 over the 3TB so I'm not sure if it's worth it because I think 3TB would be fine.

Anyone in the Preview Program now have scratchy audio watching TV now? I'm not sure it's related and I got a new DVR box 3 weeks ago, but it definitely started today.

It's definitely not ok.

Ah . . . I'm still on the 1408 update. Apparently the 1409 update was released to a small group of the preview audience for now, because they're not 100% done testing 1408. Once 1408 goes "live", the remainders will get 1409.

Doh.

I have funky audio through Watch TV. A reboot usually fixes it but eventually it comes back. I am NOT in the preview. I was hoping the next update would fix it.
 
I never had a problem until yesterday and now there's a bigger thread on it in the Preview Forum. They say they will have a fix ASAP.

I got the update this morning and had the scratchy audio issue for the first couple minutes then it went away, not sure if it's completely gone as I've only had it on 20 mins now. I actually thought it was my DirecTV feed and not the Xbox.

Pinball FX2 is really nice on the 'bone, by the way. I keep forgetting to use the bumpers to switch between groups of tables though. Not sure why we can't just do it with the d-pad and/or stick.

Diablo III on PS3 was amazing. But no, being in the preview program doesn't change anything regarding your ability to play with others. I can invite you tonight if you want.

Seriously, though... I did tweet that, but since you've been in the Madden league here, I will invite you when I get on after the Packers game wraps up. But it can take a couple days, sometimes more, for Microsoft to actually send the invitation to your console.

I can't see your gamertag on CAG mobile. Is it the same as your CAG name? I can only invite people who are on my friend list. So you can send me a request, or I can do so in a couple hours if I get your gamertag.
 
So i really want to play sunset overdrive but i dont like that the bundle comes with a digital code and the white xbox wouldnt look good with all my other systems being black.

I have GCU so do you think if I wait long enough I can prob get a kinectless Xbox One and a physical copy of sunset overdrive for around the same price as the bundle?

Also, will Sunset overdrive support local co-op?

I imagine you should be able to get a kinectless system and Sunset Overdrive for the same price as the bundle by then. I mean Target already had a $50 Gift Card with the kinectless unit so figure that's only $10 less than the game would cost.

I'm almost positive it won't have any local multiplayer. They would have announced that by now, and I doubt think the system could handle all that explosive action with two players, as some people at Gamescom mentioned the FPS took some pretty big hits with the 8 people playing together.

I'm not sure how legitimate it is but it does come from GAME.uk and I thought they're supposed to be a pretty huge retailer in the UK. But they have preorders going for an "Xbox One Mini Controller" there's even several screenshots of it and a black model. It's worth noting that it's listed as an "Officially licensed" product. Also worth noting it appears to be a wired controller.

Hmm, if you compare it to the 360 Power A Micro controller, there are some striking key similarities.  I wonder if they are making these.

No question if you can wait until black Friday you are going to nab an Xbox on the cheap.. Microsoft wants to win at least one sales month this year and they are going to push damn hard in November to try and make it happen.
