Hey I also have a headset question.

I recently brought the Turtle Beach Ear Force X2 headset and when I hooked it up to my TV I could hear the game sounds and I could hear the other people chatting but they couldn't hear me. I checked to make sure and the mic wasn't muted. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

360 and the PC
how?

I followed the instructions and downloaded that Zune software and enabled media sharing but my system would not detect the 360 on the network :( (everything is wired)

Is it even worth streaming stuff to the 360 if both are next to each other?

uh no.. im not messing with that... there must be some other way... my cousin claims he already linked it to Vista, but im on XP home.

Possible Solution.

Use Tversity instead?

Works great for me,and syncs up with both my PS3 and my 360.

Sorry if this has been asked before (search is broke for me).

Can anyone reccommend a good list of Region Free 360 games, or one that shows Region compatability for games?

Someone mentioned one in a post ages ago but I can't remember the website, looking at Play Asia is ok but I wondered if there was one that was layed out a bit clearer and updated regularly.

So I just got around to purchasing a Premium with HDMI, but found out that wihout the audio adaptor, I wouldn't be able to get Digital audio from HDMI :(

The cable alone was 45$ so I decided to cancel my order and purchase the Elite set because it supposedly comes with the adaptor and the HDMI cable

Can anyone confirm this for me before I have to cancel my order again

Thanks :)

This site constantly updates and tells you about compatibility:

Hope that helps!

Yes, the Elite set has the Digital Optical adapter. It's flat and will fit in easily under the HDMI cable. This is how my Elite is set up at home since I didn't want to buy a HDMI reciever.

Is it my 360 or does everyone else hear like a crick and cracking sound as if the plastic inside the 360 was expanding and contracting?

I hear this quite often hmmmm......

Sometimes.....my xbox shows the RED RING OF DEATH but pretty rare tho. However if i reset the system it's all good. Has this ever happened to anyone more than once? I have a feeling that it will soon become permanent if I don't get it checked out.

I've gotten it 3-4 times...had a launch unit...still alive. Check to see that the cables are firmly placed, A/V and Power Cable.

lol but it happens within the first minute or so of boot up. Heck occasionally I will hear that crick and cracking sound and I look down to see if the thing is about to explode from the internal pressure :p

question.

if i sell my 360.... will the warranty still be valid.

what happs when new owner calls microsoft and gives them the serial number that is under my name

good question.

Probably they will be SOL since it's under there name...but they might just give you a break and fix it for you anyways.

Thanks to another CAG and his posting about the Microcenter deal for the 360, I managed to get my first 360 last week. It's a used model made 6/06. So far so good, the unit is playing fine. Over the past few months I have been picking up a few games here and there cheap such as DOA4, DOAX2, Perfect Dark Zero, and Viva Pinata. I already found two cousins and my other friends who have the 360 and they are bugging me to get EA sports games (Madden) and Rainbow Six:Vegas and Halo 3 when it comes out. I looked up most of these games and tried out a few of them via the demo downloads. Ace Combat 6 looks like the one to get when it hits next month.

I am sort of tight on money right now and would love to get that NBL 2k7 game but can anyone recommend any games for the 360 30 or less (less would be better) that are good to play?

I have also purchased a few Live Arcade games (Worms and PoP Classic).

Ridge Racer 6 is incredible (if you like Ridge Racer games generally). Lost Planet and Dead Rising should also be cheapish, as would be the first GRAW.

I forgot to mention, if a 360 game is also on the PC, it is most likely I have it. GRAW1 and R6:Vegas are two that I know I have.

Dead Rising is still 30 bucks in my area.

btw, I am running the 360 on my 22 inch gateway monitor using the VGA cable and this thing looks amazing :)
NBL 2k7? Is that new?
it's fairly new, came out 2/07 and its still 60 bucks :(

I expect Halo 3 to be stuck at 60 for a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG time :(

I'm about to pick up a 360 (whenever another appealing deal shows up within the next 2 weeks) and I am concerned about system failure even though I will be sure to get a new one with HDMI (and the heat sink of course). So, does the system's 3 year warranty apply on all NEW systems or just the old ones?
Thanks-

Hey i'm new to cag just got my XLB gold membership revoked. I need to know where you can get free 1 month live codes. I know how to change my e-mail and get one month live for free but i dont want to loose my achievements and friends list i'm too friggin lazy to do so. If anyone knows where I can find them it would be a help...
Anyone have an answer?
Just purchase the 3month ones if you can't afford a whole year. I don't think that they sell the one months but I could be wrong.

Well here's the deal I just waisted the last of my money buying skate and don't get paid till next thursday. I know its not that long of a wait. But with me getting skate and finishing the payment of Halo 3 it'll be tricky. Besides I don't wanna miss out on CoD:4 Beta it took me forever to get the thing.

Did they remove the billing records from xbox.com? I can't seem to find the list where I spent points, added points, etc anymore.

For anyone who traded their 360 in via a store warranty - how did you get your saves, etc? Did they let you transfer them over, or did you have to buy another HDD and swap it out?

I saw a video awhile back about how to take out the 360 hard drive and replace it with a bigger one... anyone know where the link for it is? Also for those who did put in a new drive, can I re down load my two arcade games and profile or am I SOL?

Do the HDMI-based 360's upscale SD-DVDs to 720p/1080i (or whatever your TV supports)? I know when the 360 is connected via component, it only upscales to 480p.

Thanks!

Yes, on HDMI and VGA it will upscale to 1080p.

wait...

the 360 displayed on a VGA wide screen 22 inch gateway monitor... how do I know if it's running at 720p or 1080p? This is a dual input monitor so with a few slides of the finger I can switch between my pc and 360 with ease.

Up to 1080p if your monitor supports it of course.

Thanks, Trakan.

With that, I might get rid of my $500 upscaling DVD player, I mean, my PS3, and my current 360, and get an Elite.

I'm assuming that if I played a SD DVD via my HD DVD add-on that is connected to an Elite using a HDMI connection, it would upscale it as well?

when using vga you will have the option of selecting various resolutions...1920x1080 is 1080p.. i think they also have 1360x720 or something like that

yes I have seen those resolutions on my 360 settings... However at 1920x1080 it looks the same as 1280x1024

I don't know how the hell my monitor is allowing the 360 to set it that way, since it's max res is 1600x1050. I will set it back to 1280x1024 just to be safe.
