Thanks Joe, sorry I don't have any beer dude. :)

I am going to go try and get a falcon xbox on tuesday or wednesday and was just wondering. Too bad they will only give me $8 bucks for Forza 2, I don't even want that game.. :D
Yeah, I read the original xbox wireless (and D-Link gaming adapter) adapter works with WEP but not with WPA encryption standards.
I have the d-link adapter and don't seem to have any trouble using WPA.

for some reason since like saturday night during rock band my 360 controller has been constantly disconnecting

anyone kno what the problem could be?
was tryin to play mass effect today but it constantly disconnected itself and i have no idea how i was even able to play more than 10 mins w/o it disconnecting :bomb:

also yeah i changed the batteries and im using new ones right now and theyre fully charged i tried reconnecting as well and it still didnt do anything

Have any tech websites run any test to see how much strain having an HD-DVD add-on will cause on a system? That'd be interesting to see a comparison in heat/wear and tear on components of a just a plain 360 and one that runs movies.

Yes this problem sucks and I really hope MS actually fixes it. But, something tells me they are not going to fix this problem.

So I finally got money for a 360.. to bad noone here in Phoenix has any.(Premiums)

I called Gamestop, Gamecrazy, Walmart, Best Buy, Circuity city all sold out, and when I ask any of them if they could check the wattage for me (on the halo 3 editions some stores did have those) they have no idea what I am talking about. They don't even know where the LOT number is and that is at Gamestop and Gamecrazy places who specialize in videogames.

But I guess it's not too bad, since they are all sold out they will be getting new systems in which means a better chance of getting a falcon chip.. or maybe I will just get the Halo 3 edition and take it back once they have the Premiums.. :D

I don't know if this is the spot for this thread, or if anyone cares.. I am just venting on the internet. Im sick of waiting for a 360.. I just want to play CoD4..
That's what you get when you live in a town named after a character on Friends...
haha seriously.. I just moved here from Michigan and I thought that same thing.. "Oh man its like that lame dude from friends" :applause:

Nah, I don't want one from amazon, I am trying to get a Falcon chip.

None in Phoenix? That's...very odd. Every big electronics store around the Bay Area has them stacked halfway to the ceiling in big corrals surrounded by PS3s

I recently picked up one used for about $80.

I'm not even playing it, it was just too good of a deal.

You picked up a used 360 for $80??

Toejam if you have a Costco membership, I saw a bunch of 360s at the Chandler mall one the other day. Not sure what chips they have in them, though.

Strange... I guess people in Chandler really like their 360s. I see them all the time around these parts, you could just order it online like someone already mentioned. At least you don't have to pay that 8.5% sales tax.

Or being the Phoenix-area, they were all stolen. Everyone I know in Phoenix has had their car broken into, if not stolen, at least once. It's pretty sad.

doh I forgot about Costco and Sams Club.. oh and I don't have a car sooo, somewhere in phoenix probably has them but not in my immediate area.. I called probably about 10 different stores. I will try Sams after work.

yeah.. that happens to me nearly once a year.
Try fry's electronics, i bet they have some in stock.

oh.. and you didn't mention target or kmart.

True. I visit every couple years for family reasons. And it's the only time I ever had my car broken into. Which is why I pack heat now :) Can't wait to catch someone doing it.

Really? I've never had any trouble and I've been living out here for more than 3 years, I even lived in Glendale and I didn't have any trouble. Is Glendale not ghetto enough?

My wifes grandfather almost got 'carjacked' there last year. He ran into the gas station and when he came out, some guy was trying to break into his truck. He asked the guy what in the hell he was doing and he said he was taking the truck. Her grandfather simply replied, "I think my dog would say otherwise." The guy looked up and his dog (big dog, not sure what breed) was staring at the guy from the other side of the glass, teeth showing. The guy ran off, not sure if they caught him though.

Another friend had his car stolen and recovered 3 times in just over a year. After the third time it was totally stripped. He deemed the car cursed and got rid of it.

I heard that the Arcade version is not backwards compatible and that there is no way to change this fact.

I need to know because I want to get a 360, but I don't have much cash and I need to know if it can play my old xbox games.

if you happen to know please tell me, I don't wanna screw this up and be stuck with out any games to play on it, because as stated previously I'm broke except for the $300 I have.

Yes, you are right. The Arcade and Core versions are not backwards compatible. You would need a Premium or an Elite to be able to play original Xbox games.

the Xbox emulator is on the hard drive. In that way, yes...the straight out of the box arcade is not backwards compatible. But once you buy a hard drive (and you will buy one), you'll be able to use the emulator with that console.

As far as I understand it, you need a hard drive for BC on the Xbox 360. Therefore, the Core/Arcade will not work with BC. I would assume you could later buy a HD and slap it on and it would work fine, though.

Half true.

You need a hard-drive to play Backwards Compatible games, and the Arcade does not come with a hard drive. You can buy a hard drive separately if you want to play BC games on your Arcade console.

Here's a fact you should know: the consoles in the Arcade and Core bundles are EXACTLY THE SAME AS EVERY OTHER 360 CONSOLE, the only difference is what ACCESSORIES the bundles come with.

Everything you can do on an "elite" 360 can be done on a "core" or "arcade" or "premium" 360, you just might need to buy the required accessories separately.

that is what I was hopeing for and I have a hard drive (20 gig).

MS made a 60 GB hard drive? I thought it was just 20 or 120?
that is what I was hopeing for and I have a hard drive (60 gig).
You know it has to be an actual 360 hard drive, right? You can't plug in any old one you have laying around and expect it to work...

If you don't have a hard drive for your 360 (Which would be stupid) Then you can't play regular xbox games on it. It doesn't matter which system it is - Halo, Core, Arcade, Pro, Elite, Without a hard drive they don't play regular xbox games.

sorry I ment to type 20 gig, but I heard that even with a HDD, it still won't let you do B.C.

even so, my problem was solved. My friend who works at gamestop told me he has a referbushed 120 gig HDD for $85 that he'll knock $15 off of for me.

No.

Well I finally got my 360 system over the Thanksgiving Weekend.
I ended up getting it from Game Crazy, as the idiots over at Circuit City seemed to not care enough about the sale to help a customer out, but anyway....

I didnt have enough to go with the elite system so I got the holiday bundle.
With the 2 Games (Marvel UA/Forza 2) Packed in.
What I didnt know untill I opened up the Box was that the games came in a
one double disc case. (Odd)

I did luck out and get a model manufactured 9/24/07
Lot #0736
Team: FDOU

I also purchased the extended warranty

The majority of the games are amazing.
Gears of war looks incredible...

Setting up the network was a breeze.
I absolutly love XBOX Live.
The Download DEMOS option is the Best.

I am trying to work up the nerve to play some multiplayer stuff
but im not use to playing with strangers.. heh

anyway, thanks to everyone who offered tips and suggestions
for my purchase
Congratulations! I see you're playing Oblivion, that's the only game I've been playing the past month and a half.:D
This game looks endless..

I cant see how people find time to play them all.
I was worried that I didnt get CoD4 yet, but by the
time I finish Oblivion ,CoD5 will probably be out :D

MUA and Forza 2 as a free bundle are a great deal. It almost makes me want to cry that I got both of those at full price in the past year :) Forza especially is a great game if you're into the Gran Turismo style type game.

Went to play a regular DVD in my HD Drive and it came up with 'Not authorized region' or some crap like that.

This is a refurbed console (not my original), but it shouldn't affect the HD Drive, right? Never had this happen before, and this is the first time (I think) I've used a DVD in it. HD is fine, of course.

What DVD is it and where did you get it?

Congrats! You can add me to your friends list if you want. I'm a bit new to online myself. Tetris Splash seems to be the only game I enjoy playing with the masses. I think building up a friends list of CAGs is the way to go. There's a lot of jerks with big mouths out there.

Congrats...yeah, playing with people you know is best...or a group that isn't comprised of 12 year olds. Anyway, feel free to add me as well, I'm the onlyone that I know that has a 360 online, so it gets lonely.

Toejam, I went to Best Buy at Chandler mall after work to pick up the Futurama movie and Sam & Max game for PC, and one of the guys was stacking them, so maybe they got a shipment in today so you might want to check there. :)

Is it possible for a 360 to get the red rings of death because its too cold, and needs time to warmup? Ever since it came out of the box, I've gotten the rings everytime I start it up. Its fine after I restart it once or twice though. I've checked all the plugs and cables, and I still get the rings.

Really? Thanks, I am gonna pick one up tomorrow probably. My brother went to Walmart on Arizona and Chandler and they had a bunch also. Hopefully I can find a falcon. Maybe I will see you on CoD4 if you play that. :D
