Yet More Craigslist Stupidity!

People who don't realize the real price of video games amuse me. I always laugh when older people try to sell their kid's video games and expect the price that they paid for.

I'll sometimes say that as an indication that I haven't handled the discs much so there wouldn't be much of a chance for the discs to get scratched.
 
used is used correct but i do get what mguiddy is saying. it sometimes can mean the game has no finger prints or it is not raped in anyway . so you both are correct
 
I don't know if this person posts here or not, but this is a RIDICULOUS craigslist ad. I would say it's the height of stupidity.

Here's the ad:

"PS with 3 games, two memory cards, two controllers $70 O.B.O., PS2 with 12 games including Guitar Hero 2 and Guitar, three controllers, 2 memory cards $250 O.B.O., PSP with 3 games, 1 video, and a carrying case $135 O.B.O., Game Boy Advance SP plus 3 games $50 O.B.O., Nintendo Game Cube, one controller, 8 games $175 O.B.O."

Nothing too bad, right?

Well, I e-mail the seller with the hopes of getting further clarification on the ad.

Me: Which games for the PS1, PS2 & Gamecube are for your sale on craigslist?
Seller: Were you just interested in just the games, or the whole thing, PS2 and games, etc.?
Me: I was just curious concerning the games.
Seller: What do you want to know?
Me: What games you are selling.
Seller: We are selling the games with the PS1/2 and Gamecube as a whole. If you are interested in these systems with the games, I can tell you the names of the games for the systems, but as of right now, we won't sell the games separately.


OK, maybe the ad is a fuckin' lie and they don't have shit.

Just tell them you're interested in getting everything so you can get a list of games, probably all shite games anyways.
 
Man these people make southern Illinois look soooo bad (I grew up in southern Illinois.) I'm embarrassed by how stupid of some these posts are, but they are very intertaining. Keep them coming RIJ!

God what an idiot asshole seller. JUST ANSWER THE FREAKING QUESTION! I can't believe he went back and forth with you like that - "What do you want to know?" Uhm, the names of the games you are selling, dumb-dumb!

I can't stand it when they don't list the games. Especially when it's under 10 games total.

No funny ad to post, but I do have a funny experience from a couple of days ago. I am trying to sell a 7600GT with a Zalman fan installed on it. I have an asking price of $100, but I certainly don't expect it. I just start high and clearly put in the ad that I might accept lower. Never had any problems until now...

So, a fellow e-mails me, and he opens with a Newegg link to an XFX 7600GT, which was like $80ish up front and had a $20 rebate. He tells me this was the card I was selling (thanks for reminding me), and that I would never get what I was asking. He was "kind enough" to offer me $25, becuase "that's all such a card is worth."

For laughs, I decide to open a dialogue with this tool and see where it goes. I e-mail him back that the card's value is still in the $80s. Plus, incase he missed it, it has a $40 HSF. I informed him that I am very knowledgeable when it comes to PC hardware, and he tried to pull a fast one on the wrong person.

His reply consisted of nasty words and "advice" pertaining to 3rd party HSF...that they don't do anything and are a complete waste of money.

I've led people in circles before on CL, since people want the 'good stuff' and won't buy everything as a lot, even when you say you're not gonna break it up and sell it seperate and WON'T negotiate on price.

How hard is it to understand 'price is not negotiable'?

Albeit, those prices ARE a bit high, but I can't blame them for not wanting to lowball themselves and end up getting nothing for their stuff. Sure, it could be that they have all of the yearly Madden titles for each system plus one or two other sports titles and maybe a GTA game, but you just never know what people have until you NICELY ASK.

Express interest in one of the system/game combos, see what they say, repeat till you have an idea of what they are selling for those higher prices. And, if it happens to be all sports titles or crap titles, just be CIVIL and say 'thanks but I'm looking for some other titles'.
 
Just finished a trade for a copy of Xenogears Black label still sealed for 30 bucks and a used copy of resident evil 4 Wii edition. Good deal or no?
