have in my possesion a copy of the coveted Black Label Version of Final Fantasy 7 on the Ps1. The discs are in good condition, with some light scratches. Box is in great condition. The only thing missing is the back label and I bought it like that. I initially paid 500, im asking 300 OBO.
If he paid $500, then he got screwed. I don't even think sealed copies go for $300 on ebay.
I have in my possesion a sealed copy of The greatest hits copy of Final Fantasy 7 for the ps1. From my experience, sealed black go for $300-500 on eBay, varying based on the current trend. For a COMPLETE, MINT black stripe, I get $100 EVEN, and this one doesn't even have the "back label" (which I think in civilized society we call the "back artwork").

edit - just looked at the ad: WOW, he did say 500!!! I buy them for $50 and those INCLUDE the back artwork. I'll give him $45, which is my "missing a piece that's not a disc" price :p

The LOW for sealed GH's, on eBay, hits around $125, and the trend peaks at $200.

Where the heck have you been selling your copies? I've been lucky to get $80.00 on eBay (shipping included). I was getting $100.00 easy back in March but that train went off the track when people stopped caring about Crisis Core at the end of April.

He called me minutes ago (I had contacted him days earlier) and told me that he checked the prices online at (dkoldies?) and that the lot was worth over $500... but since I was first... he would let me get the lot for $200!!!

Don't get me wrong, i love Craigslist but it has really become a joke because of all the morons who post overpriced junk. Along with all the flakes and time wasters, nigerian scammers, and the dealers who will offer you LUNCH MONEY for your rare stuff. (ie - offer 3 bucks for sealed chrono trigger ? yea......right)

craigslist staff better step up to the plate and weed out the dumbasses before the site hits the gutter. oh wait......it already has

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas - PS2 - Hot Coffee Edition - $50 (East Dayton)

This is the Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for PS2 version that created a big stink because users were able to manipulate the game to show sex scenes. This is a collector's item now and not many are available after Rock Star was forced to put out a clean version. I will not sell this game to minors.

Only contact if serious, please.

I bet the only reason he's put it up for sale is because Gamestop would not take it.

notice how these people always say "i have a shit load oof games yea!!!!!!!1111" yet, they NEVER list what the games are.

"nes system with a bunch of games, 400 bucks or best offer".

alright, okay, we get it your selling an overpriced nintendo. What are the games?

Just another overpriced backwards compatible PS3..."only" $1,000
100 bucks for 2 sega genesis systems and some common games (notice how they're mostly sports titles)

http://nh.craigslist.org/ele/1023119233.html

I'll give him credit for the good quality pictures though :whistle2:#
I like how one console is 16 bit.

wtf is the other one?

And yeah, I'm constantly e-mailing people asking for lists of titles - if they say they don't have time, how much will I pay with "x number of games", I offer a quote under the assumption that they're worth $0.75 each - if the person rejects my offer, I tell em they can send a list.

Jesus christ! i can't believe how many people are still trying to scalp wii's. Today just doing a search for 'wii' pulled up about 15+ fit's for $120-170, and a couple USED wii consoles from 300-575

Last month I sold my year old 40 gig PS3 with regular Sixaxis controller, no games, no blu-ray discs, for $300. Guy didn't even ask to test out the system or anything. Didn't even check inside the box to make sure it was a PS3 and not an 8 lb barbell or something.

I was happy to get $300 for it because I got it for ~$270 new over a year ago.

Also sold a 360 wireless adapter for $75. Met the guy inside a gamestop, which was selling the same used wireless adapter for $70 (and would thus have a 30 day warranty). Due to traffic, he beat me to the gamestop, but I manueveured us outside and sold him the wireless adapter before he got a chance to see that they sold them used in Gamestop. Think I paid ~$55 for it originally.

Yeah, people on Craigslist are usually dumb. Plus, you get no warranty, so unless it's just a game or something small, I wouldn't risk it. I don't want some loser coming to my house to test their console before I buy, nor do I want to go to their trailer or the PJs to make sure their shit encrusted console works properly.

I have a rule when shopping on craigslist never to spend more then 100 bucks tops beccause of the as-is no refunds warranty thing, and I make sure I test out everything I buy before hand. If the guy doesn't like you inspecting the loot first hand then there must be a reason.

My prices, for craigslist, are configured such that if the system, or a fair portion of the games don't work, I still make a profit.

For larger/higher demand items (like Wii's) I insist on picking up and testing before payment.

Wanna have some fun with that guy with the modded xbox? Ask him if he knows the manufacturing date, dvd rom type, and what dash he uses, etc.
Here's an ebay reseller most likely looking for stuff to flip. They want any free computer stuff they can get and will pick up. Catch? Its gotta be free.

And its in the wrong category.

http://boston.craigslist.org/nwb/sys/1029641865.html
Scrap flippers are the ones that get to me. Try to advertise if they're doing a favor to people, or even charge for removal.

Someone on our local fucking freecycle (my wife runs it) asked for an "aluminum swimming pool" - not "an above ground pool" or a "swimming pool" - no, he specified an ALUMINUM one.

grrr....

Oh - found this gem a few mins ago:

http://rochester.craigslist.org/tag/1029787076.html

Thought about e-mailing him saying I'll take them for $5.00 just to be an ass, because this is ridiculous...

Yeah, there is this one guy who says he runs a "non-profit" donation drive. Never mentions anything about the name of his so called donation group. His ads always look like this -

Title: looking for unwanted electronic items

"looking for any unwanted electronic items such as old laptops, ipods, game systems, video games, computer parts, cd players, stereos, audio equipment, old radios, cd's, dvd's, mens watches, vinyl records, books, vhs tapes, cassettes, computers, flat screen tv's, LCD monitors, etc. I won't pay for any of this stuff but if you're gonna throw any of it out let me know and i'll take it off your hands"

"NO CRT televisions or vcr's please"

hmm, wonder why he doesn't want vcr's or tube tv's for? Oh, I know why, because they are pretty much WORTHLESS for re-selling.

Next time he posts i'll share the link. Suprisingly nobody flags the dumbass. I'm gonna screw with him on email next time I come across one of his ads.

EDIT: here's one of his ads. I feel like beating the shit out of this guy with a stick.

http://boston.craigslist.org/nwb/sys/1028866790.html

$750 for a TUBE television? You can get a good sized LCD for that price. Terrible deal even if it is HD.

But it "brings a table"! How can you not want it?

I wish I had a link to the post, but while I was working at Epic Games back in November I found a guy selling "Gears of War 2 and other popular Xbox 360 games" for $15.00 a piece. In the listing it said "If you bring your own DVD-R, I'll even give you half off."

I forwarded that shit to our legal department right there and then and the guy got SLAMMED with legal charges within the week. It was awesome. Haven't seen a post for bootleg 360 games since.

The feds need to start cracking down on these bootleggers making profit off pirated music cd's, movies, and xbox games.

If you see one with a phone number call up and pretend your the sheriff for the county police and you're cracking down on bootleggers.

Watch how fast the ad gets deleted :)

Ah man, I just LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE those assholes. Now I'm not advocating this or anything, but if a person really wanted to fuck with these clowns, through a remailer/anonymizer or even just a throwaway email account, send him an email telling him you have a ton of free stuff (make it really tempting but not obvious that it's bogus), then send him to the worst ghetto/public housing complex you can find in your city. Tell him that you'll be home late (after 8 pm at the very earliest), and he should come get the stuff then.

There's this similar asshole in LA begging for "old video games" for free for "his neighborhood kids since he set up a recreation center for them in his house". Yeah right. Want to send that bastard down to the projects in South Central to get his dome smashed in.

LOL, flagged off. Just wait for the inevitable reposting (shouldn't be more than a few minutes) and send him on a wild goose chase. You should email him and ask him "where he's located, because if it's not too far you can just bring some stuff to him to drop it off". Then, once you get a general area where he is, send him as far away from there (using another email address) as possible. Dude is posting in Boston but saying he will hit New Hampshire, yeah? See how far he's willing to go.
