Oh and this lady has been posting multiple daily ads for this damn loose, no doubt busted ass Unicron for months now. Started around $50, then went down progressively by $5 increments each month and is now asking $20.

And apparently, it's made by Lego, not Hasbro :booty:
Haha this dude wants to trade one of those el cheapo made in china knock off mp3 players for a PSP. Not worth it IMO.

They sell these things at those discount stores lol
Uh, by 'knock-off' do you just mean it's not an ipod? Cause amazon carries this mp3 player; it's not great (and not worth a PSP) but it looks like a real mp3 player to me. Runs about $65. (Although the reviews at amazon sure don't recommend it)

NITENDO PS2 - $100 (Rochester-Monroe Ave)Nitendo PS2, (2) dual shock 2 controllers, 4 Games included, (Ghost Recon. Grand Theft Auto, Outlaw Golf and ATV Fury), VGC, very little use. This price is firm, as the extra controller and games are worth over $100.00

Not only is it a "NITENDO" PS2, but he somehow thinks that a stack of games that are only worth about $10.00 IN STORE and an extra controller are worth over $100.

What an ASSHOLE, stealing a little kids DS. That's lame.

That's terrible that the guy stole your son's DS. He gave me an offer of $50 for my Gamecube and then when he showed up, he would only give $10. Stay away from this horrible person.

Hello, THIS GUY CALL ME UP AND GAVE ME A PRICE AND WHEN HE CAME TO MY HOME HE TOLD ME A LOWER PRICE THEN HE LEFT AND MY 7 YEAR OLD SON SAID HE TOOK HIS DS AND PUT IT IN HIS POCKET HE WILL NOT CALL ME BACK DO NOT SELL TO THIS GUY
and of course, all his ads are gone...

Stuff like this reminds me of the creepy people out there.

I forget sometimes too how bad some people are. I usually try to bring people w/ me any time I do a pick up or sell some stuff.

There was one time I actually left a deal when the guy was urging me very strongly to come down to his basement to see all the games he was selling. I got a weird feeling out of it and decided it was best to head out before ever getting past his front door. I told him too.

I usually meet people at my house or down the street at the shopping plaza, there are some weirdos over here but lots of nice people too. I was never robbed by anyone from craigslist but I did get cheated once, it was a small loss but never again. I bought something and it didn't quite work as the person claimed it did, but it was my fault for not testing it because I was in a hurry. But no more. I try to be a nice guy and trust people, but now I test stuff out before I hand over the cash and if it's broken I just walk away. If they have a problem with you testing an item out, then there must be a reason.

What sometimes puzzle me is when someone starts demanding me for my address or phone number. What could they possibly want to say to me that they can't say in an email? If something doesn't seem right, I just hit the delete button on them or hang up.

You have to trust your GUT. There's all types on craigslist, you never know what can happen.

I just sold a boxed Super Scope on Craigslist. Guy decides to drive an hour to get it (I guess he had to be in the area for some reason). He walks in, I hand him the box and he walks out. Doesn't even open it (enjoy your bricks). As he is on the porch I'm like "Uh, do you have the money on you?" Oh snap yeah and he hands me the money. I'm sure he did just honestly forget but it was kind of weird just watching him start walking out.

I do this all the time, usually laughing as I hand them the money and saying "sorry, I'm an idiot, not a crook!"

If he immediately reached in his pocket and pulled out exact change counted out properly, then it was probably an honest dumb mistake.

Well yeah, probably.

I actually stopped 1 house away after leaving a yard sale and pulled out my cash to count, b/c I REALIZED I hadn't paid someone.

But I leave a business card with most sellers, so it's not like they can't find me if they want to!
Theres so many modders in the OC area.. everytime I look for a Wii or DS related ad, Half of it is mods, backups.. Eh..
Sounds like every Dreamcast item I ever find in my area. Most of the time they'll proclaim "Dreamcast with 50+ games!" then I'll look at the picture and it will be a CDR spindle with a bunch of burned games. Sigh. Just once I'd like to find some actual DC games on CL.

LOL, it's hilarious. Man it's some seriously juicy stuff. Just search that section of craigslist (Tampa Bay -> Pasco -> Electronics) for "Jeff" or "David"...here, I've edited it to be in order of the postings:

RE: Avoid Jeff / Rachael Lynch for Xbox 360 mods - Liar Thief - $25

I bought and tested a good used system with a Microsoft seal. I bring it to Jeff in Port Richey to get modded and he uses a computer with the wrong chip set for the mod. I overheard him talking about needing to get long screws for another job. Jeff gives me back my Xbox 360 unmodded. I get it home it and discover it wouldn't read disks at all and later discovered the long screws were missing. I take it back to him. His wife Rachael then tells me it has the wrong drive. Now the story changes to the laser drive is burnt out. Now I have nothing but a loss!

Also, make sure you ask for paperwork including serial number to see where their new systems they offer for sale come from.

Now they have graduated to extortion! Jeff / Rachael threaten to make false complaints to my employer if I keep posting the truth about them. Criminal charges will be filed against them if they carry out their threat.

You and your mail order bride are no threat to me and have not slowed business at all for me despite your efforts with all of your little posts, I still do just as many mods, and just as many repairs everyday ...... as for your 360 missing "screws" .....you must be missing a lot more than screws considering you never even picked up your broken piece of shit xbox.
So type your ads daily or for that matter hourly, I am not going anywhere, I've done mods on here for 4 years and regardless of what you write my ads will be on here every time you look for them.

It's sad I have to stoop to your level, but since you know where I live and aren't man enough to come talk shit to my face I can play your game all day long.... and do exactly the same (No need for me to threaten your employer, now everyone knows where you work.)

Jeff
"the xbox modder in Port Richey "
Whose name and number (By the way) Have always been in my ad, I've never removed it, I have nothing to hide.

(Jeff The XBOX Modder)

-----------------------------------------------

Don't worry David, I've forwarded a host of little Jeffy and Rachel's ads and contact information both to Microsoft as well as local law enforcement. I'm sure Microsoft won't look too kindly on their shennanegans. But thanks for your confession, below, Jeff!

You can call Microsoft, 911, or your Mother if you want I could care less, You know my address and phone number and I'll be home all day feel free to stop by.....anytime.

Any complaints made against me are obviously just made because of fear of competition, we rarely go to other peoples houses unless they refuse to deal otherwise. We have been getting messages from a person continually saying “give it up” it is likely that this person been the one spreading rumors. I believe our argument was originally that we told him we weren’t interested in a “Nintendo 64 with 5 sports games for $200” and he said very mean words in the next message and complained that our ad said we “buy anything for price.”
If anyone still thinks we steal from children please E-mail us.

Hello,

Send us an E-mail, we buy electronics and videogames, both old and new, in big lots and small lots and give you fair prices for everything we are interested in. We also buy weapons, scooters and collectibles so just try us if you have any questions. Even if you want some help just trying to figure out what something is or what it is worth, please don't hesitate to send us a message. Below are just a few of the things we are interested in (some tags may appear next to items)

Thanks,

When E-Mailing us please: Make the subject clear, attach pictures or send a link to Amazon of your item, and please give us a starting price of what you think it is worth (Aka we are not buying a game cube console for 300 dollars)

I saw that too, is he implying he will buy a gamecube console for $250? It's really gotten out of hand here on CL Boston. At least 4-5 "will buy games ads" and now tryinig to be sneaky about it by just listing specific examples that cover a huge swathe of games like "Looking to buy nintendo, sega, playstation etc.)" and the "want to buy Marvel vs Capcom PS2" of which they offered me $10. Haven't seen anything worth buying since I scored this find (http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/ele/1076678495.html, see ps1 games from post above).

I have a sneaking suspicion that all these overpriced ps2, n64s, nes' (haven't seen a snes in awhile) are just leading people to overprice even more. Also, the "make me an offer" is getting out of hand.

Here is my listing if anyone is interested, http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/tag/1082654196.html, I know most of the prices are near or above ebay but when someone wants somethinig they normally want it now. I will give good discounts if you mention CAG. I'm also looking for a PS3 controller in mint condition (doesn't matter if dualshock) and open to other trades.

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/wan/1082191430.html

I'm interested in purchasing a few Super NES games I missed when I was a kid. Here is the list, and how much I will pay for each game:

Kirby Super Star: $10
Chrono Trigger: $20
Mega Man X2: $15
Kirby's Dreamland 3: $10
Earthbound: $40
Mega Man X3: $25
Super Ghouls and Ghosts: $5
Lufia 2 Rise of the Sinistrals: $15
Looney Tunes B-Ball: $5
Super Mario RPG: $20 (actually did have this one, now somehow it's gone)

Don't bother contacting me if you are asking more for each game. These are my set prices and there are no negotiations. Take it or leave it. This isn't ebay people. If you want quick cash and have any of these, I'm your source. Thanks.

I don't think your prices are that bad, Niename. SNES Megaman X is a little low, NES Metroid is a bit high. FF7 a bit low, Silent Hill a bit high.

"Castlevania: Symphony of the Night $10" - listed under N64? This came out on the N64?

Whoops, that should just be Castlevania. I know on some I can get more on ebay but the 15% fee plus paypal plus shipping just kills me. Silent Hill is priced high until I can get around to playing it. Thnaks for taking a look though.

In response to something I posted a long time ago about sliding shrinkwrap onto SNES games and selling them as "still in shrink but opened", here's a poignant example as to why you should always do this with your mint boxed SNES games before you sell them:

Chrono Trigger in Box (no shrink):
http://cgi.ebay.com/SNES-Super-Nint...3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:3|39:1|240:1318

Chrono Trigger in Box (still in shrink but opened):
http://cgi.ebay.com/Chrono-Trigger-...3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:3|39:1|240:1318

The guys at my local Play N Trade always get confused when I buy new copies of SNES Vegas Stakes from them for $4.99 and then trade them back in the next day. This is why.

I know this is OT for this thread, but it is stupid that people will pay $120.00 more for a game due to the false illusion that something is more mint than it is. I know the guy said the CT was still "Brand New" but I bet they'll find a save file on the cart when the new owner puts it in. I also posted it in here because I made my previous comment about this somehere in the thread.

That's interesting indeed. I wouldn't consider that new and shrinkwrapped since the shrink is open, but apparently that small amount of plastic is enough to warrent $120 extra. Incredible.

Rochester NY Electronics (rochester.craigslist.org/ele) is starting to get ugly.

Basically, if you price shit unreasonably, you're going to get publicly berated.

And then people are replying with "These replies aren't what craigslist are for!"

I'm too tired to quote any/all of them, but basically Rochester electronics looks like someone took a dump on it.

Yep, translated perfectly. Some things obviously might be hard to test, like a computer component or an old video game accessory. Plugging in a television isn't exactly that difficult.

Your selling a 36" Tv from like the 1800's for $349?? your crazy if you think anyone is gonna pay that. You really must of made a mistake this item should be listed under the FREE section in CL. Tell ya what put the thing by the curb and maybe someone might pick it up that would be the only way you would get ride of it. And o i forgot you have a manual and its got PIP gee that really jacks up the price on it,it does something my cable box does and my tv dont even have PIP. GOODLUCK!!!

2700 for a used 50" plasma is a joke. A samsung 50" plasma at bestbuy is 1599.99. DUMBASS.. Same with the $200 tube tv that is 24". No one will ever pay that.

Completely ridiculous imo. I'd certainly pay more for a sealed copy, but I'm not gonna pay more for an opened copy just because it's got plastic on it.

Am I missing something here? This guy is smoking crack, some good titles, but nothing is complete. He wants $650!!!!!!

LOL, he just wants the upper range of what all of that would sell for, if sold individually on eBay. You should post a response saying "you're looking for ebay, not craigslist". Nice collection, though.
