Yet More Craigslist Stupidity!
Well, what I did was post an ad about his scamming ways along with his address and phone number. He found out, and called me at 2 am and woke me up. I said meh and hung up because I didn't really feel like talking to him. He said he would curb stomp me and that I'm not getting my money back because he already spent it. So, he was talking slow on the voicemail, weighs about 120 pounds, and he for some reason spent 45 dollars in the middle of the night. Sounds like he shot the 45 dollars worth between his toes.

I am thinking about going to his house. I'd like to see him fulfil his promise to curb stomp me because I don't think he can. I'm not the most intidimating guy as you can see from the self avatar, but I sure as hell weigh more than he does.
This makes me more inclined to call this guy. I just don't know what I'd say. :bomb:

If he is some crazy heroin addict there's also approximately 104% chance he is bat shit crazy and therefore most likely wouldn't think twice about stabbing some clean cut looking guy who he is arguing with.

I think this is one of those things I would just let go. Harass him for a while via phone and email if you want but if you think he is seriously some hard up addict I wouldn't show up and try to show him who's boss.
I offered this twat $850 for everything. Hopefully she writes back and I can string her along.

I should offer her $2000. Put that in your crack pipe and smoke it babe!
LOL, too bad...I'm going to outbid both of you and offer her one MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLION dollars for that faaaaaaaaaaaaaabulous lot.

I think you are right. I did tell him that he better pack some heat if he plans on fighting me, well aside from trying to stab me with a used needle.

I am going to drop it in a sense. No need to endanger myself incase he is crazy enough to attempt murder on my ass. I will sign his number and address to all kinds of crap, though.
man, everyone on my craigslist completely overvalues their gaming stuff. i always put up ads for games and i always get emails back wanting like $10-20 per N64 or SNES game. ridiculous.
seriously.

and for the people who just post ads, maybe theres a reason your regular xbox + 8 sports games isnt selling for $200

I've discovered a new method of entertainment and to suppress the madness of boredom as I'm surfing the craigslist ads. Well, I've honestly only done it twice, but it worked both times and I got a laugh out of it.

If I find a listing for games with semi-ridiculous asking prices, I will call or email that person and tell them that some crap game or games they are selling is priced "WAAAAAAY too low" and should be priced MUCH MUCH higher. "Oh it's worth 5 times what you are asking, easily."

I tell them I'm too far to come and get the game they are selling, but I just wanted to warn them so they don't get "ripped off".

I.e. cart only Karnov, Casino Kid, Super Mario Bros. and others, asking $5 each. I tell them Casino Kid and Karnov are worth at least $30-40 on the open market, and sell for over $50 on ebay and amazon, even cart only and with shredded labels. "OH REALLY?!? THANKS FOR THE HEAD'S UP/WARNING"

few weeks ago a lady had an atari 2600 with a bunch of games included for $15, seems like an ok deal right? So i send an email about it, and this old hag says shes raising the price to $50 because alot of people emailed about it. I said "no way, only a nutcase would pay $50 for an atari". That was in may. Today I get an email saying she wants 15 again. Looks like all the "interested buyers" flaked out. Haha!

says she never asked for 50, well, I still have her emails when she said it.

I don't deal with CL because it's too much hassle and there are too many idiots. To be honest I'd rather buy at Gamestop

I have to say I agree with you, I'd much rather deal with Gamestop where I can see the condition of the cases and games, and work the deals easily to my advantage. Unfortunately, they don't sell vintage/classic games.

So if I want those, I have to go elsewhere, and among the limited options one of the "better" ones for these is craigslist.

I don't usually buy newer games/current gen games on craigslist unless it's a completely insane deal to be had, and it's honestly just too time consuming to search for and sift through "XBox 360" "X360" ads, "PS3" or "Playstation" ads, "Wii" ads. Just waaaaaaaay too many ads on LA's craigslist to keep up and go through the full section. So if I spot something as it comes up that's a fantastic deal, I will jump on it. Otherwise, it's a bit more targeted keyword searches and trying to keep up with the newest listings.

But as with anything else, the really good deals are gone like that (snaps fingers). So you gotta hustle.

Did any of you guys get an email pretending that they're interested, and once you responded, they didn't respond back, and suddently you got hit with more junkmail..

Here is an example of the email that I received earlier. Their mistake is using 2 names or email but the msg is identical and generic.

Season Schott and Aracelis Chong sent me this

"Hello there, i saw your ad in orangecounty and am just wondering if
its still avaliable/or you still need it? Please reply back.

Sincerely"

fuck, I get those scammer emails at least twice a day, whether it's a car I'm selling, video games, whatever...and it seems even if I put "serious inquiries only", "pick up only", "cash only", or hell, even "if I get one fucking scam email I will take your address, find out who you are, and kill you" I still get this shit. And it's starting to piss me off. :bomb::bomb::bomb:

Well, $10 isn't horrible for that N64. I guess it does need work, but if someone were to just need a replacement console and just switch out their expansion/jumper pak and use their power cord and A/V cables it would probably work. I suppose if one of my 64's broke (shit, I have frickin' 9 of 'em) and I needed one real bad I would buy it for around $10. But since I'm a cheap ass, I would try and talk them down to $5. :)

This one isn't priced bad, it's just kinda funny.

I have the original Nintendo Box with 3 playing pieces....sorry don't know the correct names of all of this...but I tink I also have 4 games as well, one being Mario brothers. Perfect for any age to play. Easy enough for elementary to middle school kids.....Fun enough for adults to engage in as well. They have been kept clean and in storage for many years in clean, non-smoking home....and now decluttering household.... all pieces in excellent shape. No photos. E-mail with phone # if interested and I will call to set up a time to look at it.

Look at the description for this....this isnt so much stupid, just a waste of time.
actually, i find it quite the opposite: a clear, intelligible, somewhat interesting read on both the history and details of the particular items they're selling. while i personally wouldn't take the time to type up such a long post for a $20 GBC package, i'm pleased that they did, and i wish every CL poster would put half as much effort into their listings. as if that weren't enough, the price is actually reasonable!

100% correct. I hate the internet for spawning the "too long, didn't read" type of user that automatically discounts anything longer than a couple of lines long.

http://delaware.craigslist.org/ele/1228481940.html

This person is offering a ps3 and 60 blu ray dvds, with 10 games...(the works) for only 350. I emailed her right away (who wouldnt) and offered full price. Told her I can meet her anywhere, anytime, anyday. She kept trying to push me to give her paypal and her ship it....heh...she lives 15 minutes down the road. WTF I told her I dont believe in paypal...and I dont own credit cards (all lies) and she still tried telling me to use my bank card and send her half now and half later. SO...I emailed her a few more times (benefit of the doubt) told her that I only deal in person, and I also sent her the Fraud page of craigslist...)..you know where its highlighted to ONLY deal locally. heh.. she said she would meet me saturday in front of babys r us (doubt she'll be there) So...i got to thinking about it...and made another email account...emailed her...asked her a few questions...she says she'll drop her asking price for me and its still available (Scammer!!!!) oh man...my hopes were really up for this one! I was gonna resell all that crap and make a mint

Here, this must be his cousin. Check out THESE prices for a mindfuck...

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/tag/1233148352.html

BTW I emailed this one and asked where he came up with the insane prices, I mean, $60 for a shitstained SNES console??? $80 for Mario RPG cart only? $35 for SF2 with a beat to shit manual??? And there are more and more...

The main thing to do on my craigslist is to list your console and/or games for a ridiculously high price every 3-4 days and never change the price. Rinse and repeat for a few months, and wonder why it's never being sold.

I've seen this post up for at least 2-3 months now.

PS2 Bundle including:

-5 controllers(1 wireless and 1 with a fan)
-2 8mb memory cards
-codes book
-ps2 carrying case
-20 games as pictured (includes ncaa football '05)

all for $150

i love how it says "includes ncaa football '05" like that's a huge selling point. oh shit! a 5 year old football game? fuck it, here's $200!

p.s. all 20 games that are pictured (including ncaa football '05!) are sports games. every single one.
