CAGiversary!
Since school is back in motion, that means that NCAA Football is back as well! Big upsets in the first week with Miami losing a close one to FSU (Miami should've had that, just sloppy play by the recievers dropping everything) and Oklahoma losing to TCU.

This thread's just for people who wanna root for whatever team they like. Let's go Trojans!

BUSH + LEINART= 3 PEAT`

Cmon Cal. I think Cal's gonna beat USC at the end of the year. Their starting qb broke his leg and is probably out for the year, but Joe Ayoob (reppin Marin County) is gonna step in.

Carnegie Mellon's gonna rock the DIII this year. 1-0 so far and we'll have no problem with steamrolling Grove City College next week! Let's see if we can shut those suckers out too.

Miami & FSU both played like shit tonight. Why are they ranked so high? I know it is the first game of the year so I will give them a little slack but look for both of them to be ranked much lower next week.

hell yeah man Trojans all the way

fuck leinart. Sonnavabitch sould have went pro. I hope he fucks up. And the big game in Florida sucked. How do you block a punt, get the ball inside the 5 yard line and not score a touchdown. At least they both sucked equally and the game was close.

The stats for the game was funny.

FSU and Miami both need work on their game in BIG time. The game tonight looked very awful especially QB weatherford, who looked very shaky throughout the whole game
Pitt looked like ass, but prob will turn it around to make atleast a bowl game
I loved seeing Notre Dame whip some ass. We just made Pitt look horrible. I had some worries about the defense since we only had like 3 guys coming back, but those fears werent as warranted as I thought. Next week will be a bit more challenging, since we are playing Michigan in the Big House, but I'm confident my Irish will come out with a victory against the Wolverines on Saturday.
leinart not going to the pro's last year = jason white vol. 2
You can't really say that because of the fact that White was coming off of knee surgerys as where leinart has potential to be an alright pocket passer in the NFL.

I live in Michigan and don't discriminate against either big school so GO Michigan and Michigan State.

WTF? Carnegie Mellon actually has a football team and Division III no less.

I was at the FSU-Miami game...bad game for a football fan...GREAT game for a Seminole fan. We'll be fine this year, we just need to work out some quarterback issues. The Citadel game next week should take care of that. Our defense is, once again, one of the best units in the country and our running backs are also spectacular. Miami will be fine too, they are just in the same situation we are, young inexperienced QB, great running game and defense.

Cant wait to see you guys November in the Swamp, gl.

Miami's O was fine just minus the shitty o-line and dropped passes. I'm really impressed by the rookie. also, Marcus Vick, any idea where this guy would get drafted? I mean his arm is aiite but running skills aren't as good as Vince Young. Knowing that he's vick brother he'll get drafted 3rd round.

virginiatechar6wh.jpg

You damn right! :D

Marcus Vick still has a lot to prove on the field and off. He doesn't seem to have the freakish arm strength of Mike, but he has really nice touch on his throws. My brother-in-law has two cousins on the team too!

I am a University of Maryland fan. I guess they will play against a few of the teams people have picked in here so I hope I'll be able to laugh at you guys later on in the season (yeah right).
USC will be playing in the Rose Bowl BABY
The hopes of a 3peat will be put down in South Bend on October 15th.

As long as someone beats USC this year I'll be happy.

As for the Miami - FSU game, I was there. If you are a FSU fan, you don't care how ugly that win was. It was a win. We (FSU) have lost so many games over the years to them in just this manner, it was nice to see the roles reversed for once. Our passing sucked, that was clear. Both Weatherford and Xavier Lee will get work in the next game. I'm hoping they just had the jitters since they are freshmen in a big game. There is also another way to look at that game. How about both teams D? We got 9 sacks against Miami...a new Miami record. Thats one thing I'm pumped about for sure.

man, I had tickets last weekend to the UofL at UK game. It was absolutely incredible. The stadium was packed. There was over 70,000 in Commonwealth Stadium and I had 15 row endzone seats. Loudest I ever heard it in there. Too bad the Cats lost.

well, this is a little late, but my beloved Auburn Tigers lost. I had really good seats for atmosphere, 3rd row in the 3rd section, but because we were so close you couldn't see anything.

to recap the game, we couldn't get anything done offensively and are defensive played well, especially in the 2nd half, but not to the speed they should be playing. it's hard to win games when your QB throws 4 interceptions.

i still have hopes for this year, i think we could still win the west, but if we continue to have poor QB performance and a running game that doesn't show up we'll be in trouble.

well, it's another saturday and this thread deserves a bump.

Auburn just beat MSU, so they are 1-0 in the SEC and 1-1 for the season.

Big upset in the Michigan/Notre Dame game. ND just might have some magic this year.

I didn't watch the game, but espn.com said Oklahoma struggled against Tulsa. I wonder what their deal is?
Big upset in the Michigan/Notre Dame game. ND just might have some magic this year.
I don't really follow football, but I'm running this broadcast at work right now, as that's my job, and those two calls in the last quarter were fuckin' bullshit.
I didn't see the game. what happened?
1. Michigan fumbled on the goal line.
2. ND didn't fumble on a QB sack.

The original call was the opposite of what I wrote above. The right call was made after the replay. The replay booth did a very good job in this game, as it was clear the original call on the field was wrong in both cases.

P.S. Go Bucks!

Wellk, there one one play on the ND goal line. Michigan is trying to just pound it in. The end up in a dog pile, and one of the ND players grabbed the ball out of it. There was debate as to whether the Michigan player had control of the ball when the play died, or if it was loose. It was ruled that he didn't have control of the ball, so ND got a touchback. In the second challenge, Brady Quinn was rolling out running away from the pass rush, and he was tackled. After he was down, the ball popped out, and Michigan was convinced there was a fumble. He was down long before the ball was loose, and thats how it was ruled. Then, in an excellent show of maturity, the Michigan fans started to throw stuff onto the field. The endzone one was iffy, but I believe they got the call right. There was no question about the fumble though.

V-tech has a great team this year. they gave Auburn a hell of game, or really a hell of a quarter, last year at the Sugar Bowl. I see them taking the ACC again this year.

does anyone have predictions for the Ohio State/Texas game tonight?

Ohio State because they have a history for winning big games.

But it'll be a bad day for the big ten if they lose, Iwoa keeps losing, and Michigan already lost at hoome.

HAHAHA! Notre Dame is back it's about time! They have one hell of a scedule left though. National Championship game here we come! ;)

the bolded games are the reasons why ND is not going to win a national championship. they have a good team and will surprise some people, but they will not make it past those two teams.

Looks like it was a bad day for the big 10. it was a good game, but i was unimpressed with texas. maybe it's that i don't like them for what happened last year, so i could be biased. i just don't think v. young is that good of a qb.

well, interesting day for college football. it seems that there aren't many college football fans of CAG.
Virginia Tech beat the fool out of Duke. Not surprising. :)
Not suprising at all. Duke is the ACC doormat. I was impressed with the insanely small amount of yards of O that VT allowed. I know, it's just duke, but thats some good D.

I got home from the FSU game not too long ago. Stomped the Citadel 63-10. Looking forward to the next game against BC, should be a tough one up north.

The Texas vs Ohio State was a great game, and kept me watching till the end. Vince Young did not have his best night, but Texas got lucky by stoping Ohio in the redzone. Not a bad day, I watched 3 great college football games and my astros won. I wish every saturday was this good.

I follow Kansas State, and they had one hell of a sloppy finish to today's game. Entertaining, but sloppy. Looked like KSU had it locked in for a win, but a few boneheaded plays later looked like Marshall was going to win, and then on the second to last play KSU picks off the ball and prevents a short field goal attempt that would have gave Marshall the lead.

I was joking, if they can win all those games i'll eat my Notre Dame hat and post a video of it here! Charlie Weis is getting things turned around faster than i thought he would though. He'll get some good players in recruiting to mix with what they have and they will be back.

Texas D is a beast, as is Vince Young. He made a couple mistakes but he is so freaking dangerous with the run option your entire defense has to be aware of him taking off and he made good decisions when the game was on the line. I wish they'd mix in a actual running game though, it's Texas I know you got some horses down there use them! Don't get me wrong I LOVE running quarterbacks I just dont wanna see this guy taking all these hard shots and end up shortening his career, but Mack Brown wants the guy to win the Heisman so stat lines like today (18/29 270yds 2 tds 20 rushes 76yds) will continue to show up every week...

Saturday was a shit day for the big 10

It is to bad that the only big 10 team that gave a fight was OU. Iowa fucking rolled over and gave the clones an easy win. Mich looked like shit (but I did not see the game, just the highlights. I was tailgating for the Iowa game). Then when I got home I got to watch a good game at least, the Texas vs. OU game. I normally always root against Ohio State except when they are playing a Big 12 team ;) The Bucks and the Longhorns both looked great, I just hate to see the Big 12 win against the Big 10 and it happened twice on Saturday.

I saw the Iowa/Iowa St. game. If that game is ANY indication, why the hell are the hawkeyes ranked?? They looked horrible!

Anyone know why the hell the Irish are 10? i mean michigan is good but really overrated and pitt's 0-2
Anyone know why the hell the Irish are 10? i mean michigan is good but really overrated and pitt's 0-2
the same reason why Oklahoma was in the national championship game the past 2 years. they have name recognition and people expect them to be succesful. a team like notre dame start the season off 2-0 and jump up 20 places, while an average team can do the same thing and move up four slots.

There is no way ND should be #10 in my opinion. Yes, they beat two ranked teams on the road, but they still have a lot to prove in my eyes. They get some credit for the Michigan, not so much for Pitt. I think they should be in the #15-20 range. They have been so bad the past few years, I just don't see how you can be that much better in a single year. I see them losing at least 4 games this year, maybe 5. I think this is just a 'ND is doing good, lets jump on the bandwagon' deal.

Some exiciting games yesterday.

MSU beating ND and the triple OT game between Miami and Clemson were wild.

I was surprised my Hokies beat Ohio so thoroughly. I thought they would win, but not 45-0.
USC wins again. Why doesn't Leinart and Bush just stop picking on teams and go to the pros.

Yeah, USC is stout for sure.
