Your collection - post a photo - show us what'cha got!

Wow, great collection kermit036! That probably took a lot of effort, but if you wanted it for your personal log that's cool. I'm sure we'd all settle for spine close-ups on a shelf next time

LOL! So true.

Update. ALL my games are finally cased up. Been months since that's happened. Also got the slide out shelves all done. Next up, new rack for modern game systems as my entertainment center is pretty much packed :/

And a quick, crappy panoramic shot. I'll upload some close up shots later. I don't think I've ever really done that before.

Very nice shelves Wiggy. Are the consoles all hooked up on the pull out shelves or do they just stored there until you hook one up?

And thanks everyone for your great comments. I took pictures of the covers since I thought taking pictures of the spines would get boring/ blurry text is never fun. As for the rest of my collection I've already taken pictures so more covers will be on their way along with more spoilers. haha.

@Techman: Battletoads on the Game Boy is my girlfriend's game so I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Went back to school. Nothing new added gaming related, but I this cool LED light strip with a 24 button remote with a bunch of colors. I've been using a slow color change option. Only $15 eBay :)
Fantastic job, wiggy! It really looks great.

That's beautiful on so many levels.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thanks!

Just stored. I had planned on running power and a couple of switch boxes in the cubby hole, but there ended up being too many damned consoles to deal with. I DO plan on adding some track lighting above and some rope lighting inside the slide-out shelves ASAP. So damned dark down there...

Again, you've got a great collection there!

Yes, this.

Here's yet another crummy panoramic to illustrate the layout.

And here's the actual layout.

AND, I went to the hardware store today to see if I could find a cool drawer pull for my controller drawer. I couldn't, so I made one ;)

Yea, there's this nice lightbulb on Kickstarter that's similar. You can network multiple bulbs, and set colors, even to music. They're a bit pricey, so it's holding me back.
I forgot to say. It was beautiful Wiggy. *Tears
That bulb is kick-ass! I've also been thinking about buying one for a while now, but like you, the price is what's holding me back :(

Haha! I took a bunch more pics too, just gotta edit and upload them. Getting this whole thing put together really makes me wanna just paint it now, but I'm not too excited about taking everything back off the shelves after having just slapped everything up there.

Maybe I'll be inspired this weekend. I do plan on building a few other things anyway...

Very nice, Wiggy. Especially that custom drawer pull.

I also want that Light FX, mainly because it's supposed to sink with music. I'm hoping they'll be able to mass produce them and bring the price down.

Edit: LIFX, not Light FX.

If I could divorce my wife and marry wiggyx's shelving unit I would. Any chance you would make a house call to Pittsburgh? I have a simple shelving unit I would like to build in the on corner of my living room.

:)
i would hope so after a year or two of work!!
Hey now, a year of it as a thought in my head and a plan on paper, then just a couple of weeks of on and off work to slap it together ;)

Yeah, same here. Such a cool item.

LOL!

Well, I tend to make it down that way about once a year because my mother really likes the botanical garden. Usually in September...

Thought I'd post up what I've acquired so far throughout the years. Many of them are incomplete or need covers printed. I usually only pick up what I like. I'm missing quite a lot of titles but, I'll slowly hunt them down. Anyhow, hopefully you enjoy clicking on through.

I do have a Genesis too but, that's tucked away right now.

Oh yeah, thanks for looking as well.

Great collection... you've given me ideas for a lot of games I need to get. I see you're missing .hack Quarantine... I'm glad I didn't put that one off.
Some good stuff in there!

I just printed a bunch of covers for some GCN games that I grabbed at the ol' GameStop closeout :)
Bah... don't talk about their GC clearance. fucking pissed about that sale... nothing good in stores and only 3 out of 11 games I bought online work.

That blows :/

I think of it as (nearly) free GCN cases either way. They're hard to come buy these days, so I'll take em where I can get em ;)

Damn, that blows. I was actually swapping cases in while in the store to make sure that I got only GCN cases. The two girls working didn't seem to give a shit LOL!

Yeah...kind of wish I picked that one up all those times I had the chance to. Oh well though, I'll get it later down the road hopefully.

That was one of the reasons I never imported one, they were expensive back then and still expensive now. Are Gamecube cases really hard to come by now? I'm glad I amassed my collection years ago, I would have loved to have a few of the cheaper titles to fill the gaps but it's ok.

The closest one that kinda looked the same from the outside of the Gamecube case was the old Blockbuster cases (with locking mechanisms). Of coarse they were the full DVD size and had blockbuster on the inside. They look better than the PS2 or black generic CD/DVD cases with rounded edges.

Yup, and as Vinny describes below, aftermarket replacements basically don't exist.
Yeah, Nintendo's store is sold out and there were never any good third party replacements for them.
I've actually started re-sleeving even the most beat cases. It's not like they're gonna get less rare any time soon, so I figure I may as well make some lemonade with those GamStop lemons ;)

Man I haven't posted updated pics in quite some time...

Here is JUST the PS2 portion of my collection since I am trying to accumulate the collection I want. I was thinking of starting a thread to discuss future rarities as well as hidden gems I may not have. I do have a small list of games I know I need. Anyways here we go:

IMG_1122_zps0912f91c.jpg

Funny story about Britney's Dance Beat. My cousins and I rented it as a joke and were actually midly entertained with it. They decided to get me one as a present lol. Nothing too exquisite here. My Disgaea 2 is sealed though. Blood Will Tell was the difficult one in this picture for me to get. Same with the 2 Eureka Seven games and Dual Hearts.

IMG_1127_zps30e83ebb.jpg

MGS 3 LE obviously is the one that sticks out here. Kuon and Hunting Ground were both a pain in the ass to find at non-inflated eBay prices.

IMG_1128_zps8b6b03a7.jpg

PSO Ambitions of The Illuminus and Skygunner were the pains to find in this picture. Thanks to a trade with Vinny I finally got that damn DDS Deluxe and since I had a sealed copy of the DDS 2 cover variant that fit in well with my sealed DDS1 in the box :D

IMG_1129_zpseb1d4e86.jpg

Tsugunai and Wizardry. fuck both of you! Such pains in the ass to get cheap AND complete. I have sealed copies of both Tales Games, Xenosaga Trilogy, and Wild Arms Alter Code F. :D

IMG_1130_zpsa43b5c60.jpg

This game gets its own picture because the lenticular cover is so awesome. I really regret not snagging a sealed one of those at BB years ago. Still awesome. I baby this and actually might be seeking another copy of Xenosaga III to play so I don't have to open this.

I will post pictures of my other stuff soon. :)
Amazing collection. None of the Jak games though, do you have the ps3 collection?
Honestly I totally forgot about the Jak games! And I do still need to get the collection on PS3.
Awesome collection Zxt , I could only wish I could ever achieve such a collection. MvC2 ?
My luck with MvC2 has been bad since I sold mine back when the game peaked. I remember selling my pristine copy for like $125 and the same day I sold my mint Gitaroo Man for $100. I have since replaced Gitaroo on the cheap but I can't ever seem to find a compete MvC2. I noticed the price is much lower now on eBay and will eventually pick one up again.

MvC2 on the DC is the way to go. Screw the PS2 version :p

Let there be light!

It's worth mentioning that it only took a $16 light rope kit, a $2 baggy of wire tie downs, and a handful f zip ties to make that happen. True CAG style ;)

LED lights really had to any type of shelving. I stick some overhead LEDs in one of my cabinets just to help me see and was amazed at how good it looks.

I didn't realize ropes could be had for that cheap though, otherwise, I would have gotten those instead.
