Was cleaning the closet to put Lego Town Hall and Monster Mansion in there. I'm so glad I haven't bought the Hobbit sets (and that they're all that interest me of sets announced for the future).

Sorry for the bad picture, but my closet isn't deep enough for a good shot.
Sweet! Don't think I've seen you in the Lego thread?
Ah, that could be it. Thanks for the help.
Both of them came complete, and since the cover art for both is reversible it'll be nice to have a good reason to keep two to display each side of the cover.

Also, digging that Christmas tree.
You know, your question actually made me dig my Deluxe Edition and also the extra regular edition I have in my trading bin, and I think I was wrong. It appears as though maybe there were two variations of the disc art. See these two auctions:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Growlanser-...1866?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item4d069a379a
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Growlanser-...9909?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item257855a9d5

Both of my copies had the B discs.

EDIT* Also, didn't realize this game had a reversible cover.

Interesting, interesting. I guess I'm pretty lucky I got a copy of both disks.

Yeah, I wouldn't have realized the reversible art either if I weren't so picky about checking the condition of the cover art. A blessing in disguise, I suppose. Like I said before, it's definitely nice to have the different disks to go with the alternate cover.

Crap, where am I gonna put that damned game?!

Well, it's absolutely full now (as are the rest of the shelves not pictured here that have been packed for some time now). Time to clear off the shelves and get started (for reals).

It's gonna take me more than a couple of days to build it, folks. So I don't wanna hear about it on Thursday when it's not done (Squarehard and Vinny). Plus, I've got to move a stupid-ass lightswitch (it's behind Populous on the SNES and is a pain in the ass) and add a couple of outlets for the consoles on the shelves. I plan to have them hooked up where they sit, nowhere near the TV :)

Looks like I have more material for the next comic strip.
WD had a habit of putting different disc art on many of their games... but as far as I know, WD's release of Generations didn't use different disc art. The only thing I can think of is that one copy is the standard release, and the other is a copy that was taken out of the Deluxe Edition.

Man, I love set ups like this. It really feels like a true gamer's room.
I wouldn't call that a gamer in the slighest. That's a hardcore collector but far from a gamer. I'd imagine anyone who works 40 hours a week wouldn't have the time to play 1/4 of that. I have a tiny backlog and unemployed a extremely long time and I still have a bunch of sealed PS3 games. I'd bet if you asked if how X so game was half his responses will be he never played it. Or he booted it up to the title screen just so he could literally say he played it.

That collection is to the point that if you just keep adding to it all that will happen is you'll look at the item till you die or resell it. You'd have to retire in your 30's to actually play all that.

Awesome, I look forward to hearing about all of the appliances you fixed around the house when you should've been working on the shelves.

Aww, you know you love us. And seriously, I'm looking forward to the new shelves. If they're even half as nice as your mods, I know they'll turn out great.

You know I love you guys :)

Thanks! Seeing how the old shelves were installed, I think it's gonna be a lot easier to make mine than I thought. I'll just make the entire thing out in the garage, and then move it downstairs in pieces. Hopefully I can reuse a lot of this material that I'm stripping out. We'll see...
unless you are going bankrupt why would you???
Not any more. Money situation looks better then it did.

So I've been looking at all the collections and finally decided to share mine. All my dvd collection (behind blurays) is in order and some games in one of the closets, but I never got to sorting out all my other blus and games I have everywhere else. I was suppose to purchase shelves, but never got around to it. It's all one big mess that needs some 'fixin' :hot: --- In the first closet (everything out of order) the games & movies run three levels deep. The second closet starting with Seinfeld, the stuff only has 2 levels of games, blus, dvds.

Yep, sorry I dont know what photobucket did, but I changed them

Man, that's a lot of sealed DVDs/BDs. I think this is the first time I've seen those sealed in any collection posted on CAG.

A lot of the stuff is sealed, but some do have the plastic on them even after I open them. I cut the bottom off and slip the dvd/blu/game off it and then when I'm done playing it I put it back.

I converted all of my dvd collection to digital so I have all the movies on a NAS and play them on the ps3 so that's why a lot of them are sealed.

You should see mine ;)

See, I'm not the only bastard that needs new shelves LOL!

Nice lot of goodies. I hope to see 'em on some proper shelves at some point :)
You sound like Sheldon Cooper.
also sounds like my mother.....many times we had variations of this conversation

Me: "Mom I you cleaned my room I cant find this"
Mom: "oh its in this box over there"
Me: *I pull it out with her standing and put in back where it was*
Mom: "IT DOESNT GO THERE"
Me: "YES IT DOES"
Mom: "Well if you would clean your own room I wouldnt have to"
Me: "It still wouldnt go there"
Mom: "But that box is perfect for it see how it fits so neatly"

we both proceed to rage for however long this argument would continue. usually until she realized i had homework to do or something else random would interrupt us. *cues the dogs we used to have*

this was a long time ago i have been a teenager for years now lol.

yes she is an OCD neat freak. and much like sheldon she isnt a neat freak things just naturally go in that one spot she has designated that no one else knows about. makes perfect logical sense lol.

I may be relocating my entire collection to my new place. I am still on the fence, since I live in a condo. Not sure I want my boxed stuff and CEs there.

Man, I'm still fearing my movie. The games are going to be bad enough but those guides... holy crap, that's going to be a workout. Plus I need to find boxes for all this shit. I'm also wondering how much I'll pay in renter's insurance to cover all this crap.

It would have been nice move down to/live with my parents but I can't pass up the Chicago job offer.:whistle2:/

The insurance is pretty cheap actually. Much lower than car insurance. I have condo insurance, but I believe renters insurance is about the same cost. Right now I have an extra $25,000 for personal belongings, but I might up it to the next tier if I bring over some 'good stuff'.

I really need a way to establish a value for my collection other than an excel sheet or something.

Vinny- So you are relocating to Chicago? Make sure you swing by our CAG meetup. We plan it every year, but it tends to be every 1-2 years.

I have everything on an Google spreadsheet. I'm wondering if I can't incorporate some formula to check eBay prices and update automatically, but I have no idea how long that would take to figure out or if it's possible.

I live in Rockford now, I'll probably move to the suburbs sometime in the summer. I don't start until October so I could technically lose my position or some other things could change.:whistle2:/ My job is downtown and rent there is ridiculous. But I need to figure out the trains and whatnot that would work with a decent place to live. Someone told Oak Park would be the best... but I have no idea about anything regarding living & working in Chicago/the suburbs.

Have you always been in rockford? For some reason I thought you were on the West Coast. The best advice I can give you is use the Metra if possible for your commute. I lived by Lawrence and ashland and it would take a hour or more by 'el' or bus. The same route was 15 minutes by metra train. Don't bother driving. I worked downtown and had a 50% discounted rate and it was still $24/day to park...and that was 6 years ago.

As far as neighborhoods go, you may want to post in the Chicago thread. It all depends on what you are looking for in terms of space, safety, and cost.

Yeah, I've lived in Rockford for the last 17 years or so (basically since my family moved to America)... not sure where you got west coast deal from. I pretty much decided on commuting by train though based on everything I've heard from my friends at NIU who live/commute from Naperville and some other suburbs.

I didn't think about asking in the Chicago section for living advice though... I'll have to do that sometime. Thanks for the tip.

I know this is totally out of context from the thread, but how's life on a Condo? Do you like it or would recommend over a house ??
This got derailed pretty quick. I'm not complaining though. Haha. :p
its wiggys fault for not building shelves....

i bought a condo a couple years ago and still live in it now. there are ups and downs. i wont live in one again. too many regulations.
I know this is totally out of context from the thread, but how's life on a Condo? Do you like it or would recommend over a house ??
I think a house would be a better choice.
I don't like the idea that my home could be destroyed by someone else's negligence. Basically my condo is like living in an apartment noise, rules, and assessments are the negatives. No outside upkeep, water included in assessments, cost of unit are the pros.

I would have preferred to buy a home, but I had a unique situation. I have been unemployed for several years (no govt aid of any kind), have no debt, and I bought the condo with cash because it was $38,000. I would definitely prefer a house, but in my case it was cheaper than rent if I live there for 3 years.

Eventually I will sell this place an upgrade to a house.

On topic: I bought 3 new shelves today. I have the cheap ones in my closet and I think I am bringing over my Oskar shelves. I will never have sex again once everything is in my 1 bedroom unit crammed with an unhealthy amount of video game stuff

Wow man thanks for the advice, really appreciate it :D . I am trying to decide on what to do, but a house is a big commitment and not an easy or light decision choice, so any advice I get is really appreciated.

Dang seeing the collections around here make my backlog look minuscule :hot:

You keep buying things and somehow, we keep not seeing pictures...:whistle2:k
You keep buying things and somehow, we keep not seeing pictures...:whistle2:k
There is a reason for that. Most of the thread would have a hissy fit if the stuff isn't in alphabetical order and properly organized. ;) Right now I am just filling the shelves, so I don't have to move stuff once the snow drops. (Got some snow a couple of days ago.)

My new mattress gets delivered tomorrow, so I won't have to sleep on a sleeping bag anymore.

I am also figuring out room configurations, so I don't have to move the shelves once I build them. Unfortunately, I already have to move my biggest shelf because of a change in layout. #-o

I realized I have 9 Killzone Helghast Editions today as I was going trough stuff. I knew I had at least 6, but there must have been a b2g1 sale at some point.

Most of my stuff is boxed up anyway, so all you guys will see are cardboard boxes.

Maybe I'll have a progress photoshoot, so you can see the magnitude of the move.

Basically I am trying to get all of my video games, CDs, VHS, Blurays, and DVDs to the new place. I am leaving my comics, toys, and ebay store stuff at my parents house.

Sorry these are kinda random thoughts...
