Nice of them to let us know that you're supposed to get 20% off.

Got an order in at Walmart. Ordering a copy from Best Buy (if the website would load...) just to be on the safe side in case Walmart cancels. I'm just going to do a return/rebuy to get GCU on the explorer edition once it comes in. Unless they disallow this now?
That should work as long as they didn't recategorize it as a non-eligible SKU.

Each Walmart around me has about 10 for $49 according to brickseek.  Should have a couple of days or at least tonight to pick it up for anyone that wants to try the stores.

Is gcu disabled site wise? I'm having issues on stuff not even on sale
yep I was going to get mario for the switch with the zelda2ds but nope Ill wait till next week i guess

Yet on the game it doesn't show up it says jpin and save 20% today

it should but i think they limited to just the small amount of preorders they allowed, i picked it up anyway since it seems to many people are chasing this
The 20% off is for all physical game preorders except collectors editions. Some people got it, but likely in error.

I didn't originally but was able to request a 20% refund once the game shipped.

I expected the 2DS to be more sought after, but there's a ton of em at my Best Buy.
That ugly green won't be sought after by anyone other than a true Zelda fan.

Especially with it being the old model 2ds.

It will be interesting to see if these were Black Friday exclusives (and rare) or way over mass produced and discounted in the near future,

Was able to snag an Explorer's Edition from Walmart when it was $29. Unfortunately had to pay shipping, but my order went through and shipped out today! Not a bad deal for $35.

I feel like Walmart is starting to turn into a pretty solid online site to order from. I’m starting to prefer them over bestbuy, just wish they had a GCU type program.

I changed my mind on an item recently and the return was as effortless as amazon. Their physical stores still need a lot of work, but the online portion is turning out pretty great.

I didn't need anything really this black friday but if walmarts 2ds zelda one had went up I would have gotten it but I've been checking over and over since yesterday and it has said out of stock. Nier automata only other thing I really wanted at $25 but it too never was available online and I've been looking since early yesterday on it as well. Gamestop I had chance to get the 2ds yesterday but no discount for me there so not really worth the $85 with tax to me with a game I already have physical copy of. Might just end up getting a refurbished Nintendo 2ds through nintendo online for $60. Good thing about that is don't much have to worry about dead pixels and everyone says they look pretty much new. Probably just remain happy with my original launch ambassador 3DS though.

Has anyone opened the Explorers Edition? Is the book just an abridged Prima guide? Or is it unique stuff?
It's unique stuff, but nothing all that special. It's pretty much just an intro to the Zelda series, then this specific game, followed by a bunch of tips and tricks and explanations of in-game stuff. It's sort of just a lengthy squarebound game manual.

The map included is cut with pretty cool wavy edges, and is double-sided. One side shows the world map, the other has a detailed map of the Great Plateau that shows where some secrets and locations are.

Also the game is the "not for resale" version with the Guardian on the back from the Special/Master editions, for those hoping to trade it in. Might have to ditch the case.

I'm annoyed that BB didn't sell this with GCU. My wallet, however, is relieved that this has forced me to exercise some self restraint.

I don't see how some words like "Not for resale" is stopping anyone from selling/trading game

That's never stopped a trade-in. They just manually search for the title just like when they're taking a game without a case.
Dunno about "never", as it has happened to me before... with this exact game. Depends on the employee. Just figured I'd offer the warning.

Picked up Zelda Explorers today for me and the 2DS for my son. I’m almost sad, knowing he will pulverize it, because I love the look of it.

My hope is that when the Black Friday ad expires tonight, we'll be able to apply GCU to the Explorer's Edition. It shows in stock at all of the locations near me as of Saturday morning, so fingers crossed!

2ds and Explorers Edition is available for in-store pickup at Best Buy near me. Also, got $1 off (how exciting!) for in store pickup on the Explorers edition.
