ZUNE and your X360 - ZUNE HD Now in 64GB - Latest Update Now Supports AVI/XviD

The clock is a nice feature finally.

Hexic is fun, the touch pad takes a bit of getting used to and Texas Hold 'Em is ok...kind of limited. For heads up play you only have to win two 5 minute rounds and you win, I'm not sure for standard play but you get 6 minutes instead of 5.

I've also noticed that the software itself runs a lot faster than before. That's probably what I'm happiest about, Zune 2.0 used to run like a slug for me.

The radio-tagging feature is hit and miss. I was randomly trying it and I was able to get it to work most of the time, like 80%, but it doesn't always work, but its a pretty nice feature.

Overall, 3.0 is another nice update. I really like MS' approach to Zunes and making the firmware updates available to all Zunes old and new.

Ah, the Marketplace says it's the season opener. I also think that I'll have to wait until people stop hammering the servers trying to get them. I want Psych and Eureka.
So Hexic and Texas Hold Em are included in the update? Can Zune 30s play the games?
Yeah, when you update your zune it'll ask if you want them or not.

I can't download the free episodes. I get "error code : C00D12F6" and it goes on to tell me that it can't verify my media usage rights and i need to check my firewall or something. Is anyone else having this trouble?

Just downloaded it and it looks pretty cool. However, I thought I read somewhere that Texas Hold Em had wifi multiplayer. I could be wrong and might be thinking about something else.

Comic-Con stuff is all free too .

This update should give no reason to talk shit about the Zune and it's software now .

My original $100 purchase is really has alot of added value today .

Wow, the Zune 30 gets Hexic and Texas Hold Em? Cool stuff, I'm going to get the update now. The clock is something that should have been on it when it launched, but at least they finally had a breakthrough in Zune technology to allow it.

Are Hexic and Texas Hold'Em free?
Are Hexic and Texas Hold'Em free?
Yeah. I'm playing Texas Hold 'Em right now and it looks great. However, the AI folds every hand, so it's just like every other poker game ever made.

I haven't played Hexic yet, but I'll try it in a couple of minutes.

Wow, Hexic is awesome. I didn't play it much on the 360, but it is a great portable game, and the Zune handles it well. It is exactly like the 360 version, although a few features may have been cut.

Both games look great, and are very fun. I lost at Texas Hold 'Em since one of the AI had a straight, which beat my 3 jacks.

I haven't played with sound on yet, but it looks like you can listen to your music while you play these games, which is awesome if it works right. It appears that you can either shuffle all your songs and have it play/select what you want from a list, or you can play a playlist. Not too complicated, but it will probably be difficult to find what you want uness it's in a playlist.

The update is great, and connecting to my wireless network was easy, and it is very cool having the marketplace on the Zune. I'm not sure how the iPod handles connecting to their store, but this is very cool.

I'm going to subscribe to the Zune pass soon for sure.

I just got an 80 gig Zune today. My main question is can anyone recommend me a good reliable site for picking up stuff such as cases, chargers, and what not. I looked on eBay but to me the prices for an blue silicone case is pretty high ($10 + $5 for shipping). Looking forward to the Zune experience. :D

Monoprice.com has chargers...cheap for like $3, got one a few months back worked great but the way I have it on my car I think the wiring got messed up because it suffered the same fate as the official Zune branded one. I'll be ordering another one soon.

Thanks Linkin for the recommendation. I didn't know that Monoprice carried chargers. I wish that MyCableMart.com did since they carry most of what Monoprice has. The only difference is that they are based here in MN so I usually get my stuff the next day.

Now to just find an cheap blue silicone case..... :)
There's no way as of yet, none of the Zunes have the option to buy more games since there's now Games section in the zune marketplace yet.
How did people add them before ?

After you download Zune 3.0, plug your Zune in and it'll force you to update. When it does, it asks you if you want the games, just click yes and then poof, games.

I know that , I meant a whille ago there was a way to get games on the Zune .

zune software refuses to update to 3.0 for me, 2.5 works fine, as soon as i try to update to 3.0 it errors over and over again. I tried uninstalling the zune software + installing fresh, etc. Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

omg... I was listening to a podcast and after it was over it stopped playing and went to the main menu (instead of going on to the next show). Been wanting this so bad since I like to listen to podcasts when I'm going to sleep which means it would be playing and draining the battery all night.

WOW!!!! Very impressed with this new update...works a lot faster and I love the way you can easily update music by searching for records, also my old PC's HDD took a dump and I'm on a new PC/HDD...I was able to transfer the music from my Zune to my PC \\:D/.

Overall, I'm very impressed...if this Gen 1 Zune dies...I'll definitely buy Zune again for my next media player.

This is sweet. I've had no power for 4 days due to winds here in KY. Updated my Zune at work and was pleasantly surprised to see Zune games. I guess I'll be playing Hexic until my 30 dies tonight.

got the update last night,.. love having hexic on zune(i actually played it quite a bit on 360) and it didn't wipe the games i already had installed, either :)

i like the smaller font on the home screen too.

Damn. I'm a dork. It wasn't until I downloaded the new software for audiobooks (AudibleManager) that I realized that I couldn't read any of my *e*book library.

Actually I didn't have that prob even on the 2.5 update on my Gen 1 30 GB and 4 GB, but maybe because I didn't have repeat always on. I used to have repeat always on so it would make the podcast start again, then I'd manually have to back out to get my next podcast or to the main menu. Anyway, it's a sweet feature if it's default now.

I asked speedy1961 if he happened to see them in the Best Buy ads for this upcoming week, and he said it's in there. Which means they should get it in stores this week...which happens to be today for my local store. Gonna pick it up now!
I couldn't get any of the free episodes to download yesterday. It kept giving me this odd error.
They're still up there, they're all likely to be up til the end of the week.

I know that the channels are new, but they're kind of weak.

AFI is not "New Wave", The Rolling Stones are not "Indie/Modern Rock", and where the hell is the Goth/Industrial channel?

This new audiobooks feature has gotten me intrigued. Anyone care to explain how it works? Or is it just download then sync?

EDIT - Oh wow, I thought it meant I could read it #-o

Yeah, that's what I wanted them for as well. You have to download Audible Manager from another website, and buy their WILDLY OVERPRICED books (actually there's two websites you can get books from, but I don't remember the other one).
