Any suggestions/feedback just let me know. I didn't add rumors or anything..but if you all want that just let me know. I'll add them.

alerted BigDirty earlier since he was the only mod on. If not, I'm sure a mod will stumble across this. If NOT, I'll alert one of them later 2nite.

Merged? :whistle2:s

How would that work? I don't think you'd want to merge a new thread with a months-old thread. Then the OP of this thread would no longer be the OP.

In any case, well done.

I wasn't sure about the merge thing, but it's a shame to lose the comments on the most recent VC games from the other thread. Either way, I'll be happy with a thread that is actually updated.

So...question:
Next update will be in June (obviously, LOL)
Do you want me to keep the *NEW* on the ones that come out for JUST that week..OR keep the *NEW* on the ones for the entire month? (Then start over again in July, etc)

I say keep *NEW* for the games that just came out that week.

Good work so far. How about a "new this month" header at the top. A week is too short. At the top of the post you have:

May:
Actraiser
Kid Chameleon
Ninja Gaiden
etc.
just keep adding the games as the month rolls on

-----
start complete list.

----

Once the month is up, filter that month's games into the big list and rename the header the next month. This way the most recent stuff, about 4 weeks of games, is always at the top.

This is me stealing yukine's post from the old thread:
Yeah, it's utter bullshit.

Why do they think a couple of their classics on the VC would hurt sells? People buy the ports/remakes anyway, even if they own the game.
I don't think anyone recently has accused Squeenix of making sound business decisions.

Should put a little section of games that are "confirmed but not yet here" so people can see what's upcoming pretty easily.

And Botticus, Square published Breath of Fire back in the day, but Capcom retained all the rights to it, because they put out again for the GBA. I think, for Japan, Capcom put it out themselves for the SNES, Square only published the one in the US.

We should see it on the VC sooner or later as Capcom holds all the rights to the license.

Maybe it was an error that someone put BoF 2 up before 1?

And Japan isn't getting F-Zero X in June, they already got it on the 29th, so we should see it soon. They also got Magical Drop, Hybrid Front, and Battle Lode Runner.

We'll see, thats a good idea though. Let's work on the next update first since it's a whole new month. The games will be added in the "News/Updates" section too--so that might be where i'll have them. But we'll see.

Forgive me for being naive, but is ActRaiser a one-of-a-kind must-play? It sounds very intriguing, but simultaneously, I don't really see people flipping out in droves to celebrate its reemergence. I'm very close to downloading it just on what little I know and the heady concept, but any information, however opinionated, would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's an average platformer merged with an average city-building sim. It's a lot of fun, but I imagine those who would like it most are those who played it when the SNES came out. It was hella amazing then, but I'm not sure it stands the test of time. It's also a rather short game, IIRC.

I was playing a ROM a few months ago, and yea, it holds up pretty well.

Let me explain. The Simulation parts are basically tell the people where to build next, clear the paths or find the item to make your city happy, or fend against some monsters till the people can seal their lairs. It's a basic idea but it works. The action parts are oversimplified (I mean real easy even for a 1st time player) but they are not that bad.

My only problem is how easy it is, I am enjoying the game as a whole but the ease of the game brings it down a few notches. Worth the $8, idk really I mean I am having lots of fun with it, but it seems that it is too easy to last awhile it seems like it is one of those game you can beat pretty fast but it was an enjoyable expirence through it.
Oh you!
i am teh hotzzzzz!1!

But seriously, I really do hope we get Paper Mario in the near future. I never played that one. I played Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario, and loved both of them :)

hopefully this one stay more up to date than the last one. japans getting a lot of great games next month, i hope the US can match it.

The new VC thread is awkward and less romantic than the first one. I'm going to need a couple more drinks first.

Question: Since Act-Raiser was an Enix game, does it still say Enix or is it replaced with Sqaure-Enix now when you boot it up?
Question: Since Act-Raiser was an Enix game, does it still say Enix or is it replaced with Sqaure-Enix now when you boot it up?
It is an exact port of the SNES game (I think), so it says Enix.
This is me stealing yukine's post from the old thread:

You got me there, friend.

I thought about it and the first post should have a "speculation pool" list of games that came out in other regions and ones that have been rated.

I loved Actraiser back in the day... and up until Halo I considered the soundtrack one of the best ever. I've been dying to play it again. I haven't played it since the SNES days though, so hopefully it holds up.

ActRaiser is a lot easier than I remember it being(the last time I played this game was at least 10 years ago after all), but other than that it still holds up pretty well.

I think it's a shame that Square is holding back on their SNES titles, but whatever. That system was never lacking in quality RPGs, and I'll just have to look forward to getting Illusion of Gaia, Breath of Fire, Mario RPG, Earthbound, 7th Saga, and Dragon Quest/Warrior on the VC instead.

I was almost ready to make this, but I'm sure lilboo would do a better job than I would.

It's not a big deal, but I'd prefer to have the games listed by release date rather than alphabetical. Potentially easier to keep up with the newer releases, but probably more trouble and work than it's worth.

Anyhoo, thanks!

If we don't get this stickied soon, I'm gonna make that scary man who looks like Fran Drescher the official mascot of this thread---AKA post him in the OP! bwahahha [/threat]

People like that are why the Vogons were justified in destroying the Earth.
Cool. Since I don't have 50 hours a week to devote to a thread I'm glad someone else took over.
Me too.

And there goes any hope I ever had for modifications...if they can't even replace a logo, eh...

You missed one thing though:

Zelda 2 on Monday as the 100th game. Meaning 4 games instead of 3.

Also Dead Moon was confirmed by Hudson. Another Shmup.

Not that I'd be worried about such a threat, though this one's stickied and the old one's closed + destickied.
However, the important thing to realize here is that, yea, it may be another shmup, but it's another shmup from *Natsume*, which means eventually we will be seeing Natsume games on other consoles... *cough* Harvest Moon *cough* Lufia *cough*

No more shmups dammit! We're practically picking them out of our teeth.

Just give us SMRPG/Paper Mario and all will be well.
