The more recent scans of DemonBride look slightly more promising, but I'm still not sold on the game.

Not sure I feel about Squid Man. Maybe if he uses those tentacles for good...

Can't wait fer KOF 11.

Roy, Momo, and that one skinny dude with the spiky blond hair were my team in PJ. I also used the school nurse, but that was only when I was tired of Momo.

This has to be the best thread ever. Beat em ups, and Fighters are what I always played. I collect fighters so this just added even more to my list. I hope Tatsunoko vs Capcom sees a US release.

I don't know man, I'd be happy with TvC just being released on the PS3 even if it doesn't make it here. I doubt it will in both cases.

I hope it does, but I really doubt it. There is so many games from that list I want it scares me. There is like 2-3 titles out of all of those I'm not interested in.

I'm half japanese and just don't understood why guys are so into "girly" games like arcana heart. There are a few strange things about our culture but i feel like this is just major bandwagoning.

This also reminds me of a good friend of mine. His favorite cartoon was Jem. I thought he was joking at first but he was really into it.

Ask the other half of your blood, they made it. Arcana Heart isn't exactly a big ticket seller in the states. Girly 2-D fighters is an extremely niche market in the states. Not sure where this bandwagon is. Several people on this thread have expressed their "distaste" with the character designs (myself included)

With that said I also don't understand the "cutesy/girly" appeal. Give me Zangief in a red speedo any day. :bouncy:

I tried playing arcana heart since it gets mentioned so much on the net. I was really disappointed. It just wasn't fun to me...i pretty much wrote it off as a bandwagon game

I usually like to play through fighters to check out character designs and see what they did new. maybe i should try out the rest of the characters. I really only played for about 15 minutes.

I don't like Arcana Heart because of how it plays, not because I don't like the characters. Melty Blood kicks ass and is like 90% female. The game is just straight leagues better than Arcana Heart IMO.

And where's the AH bandwagon? A bandwagon means there's a lot of people doing it, not a select few.
I think you need to explain what you perceive as bandwagon because I really don't totally get what you mean by it >_

I believe in one of the SF art books they explain it a bit... it was one of those hardcover joints... I forget.

I know SNK has had sprite books in the past, I saw a few at Book Off...

Looks super packed. I'd like to be there.

El Fuerte infinite? That's what an arcade version is for, finding shit like that. SCIV needs a patch to fix some of it's bugginess.

it sounds like there will be color editing for the regular costumes... I'm expecting more alternate outfits for home release. thank god falcoon is not designing them.

this pic needs a hamburger somewhere:

he's not fat or anything... I just always associate falcoon's look with hamburgers.
Any idea how many diffrent costumes each character will have? (not including color edits)
Each character has one alternate costume.

Each character has one outfit you can buy....

You can't customize colors, but you can buy diff color outfits.

Also, that Fuerte infinite makes him playable lol... deep fierce, run, jab, stop, deep fierce repeat til dizzy, lvl 3 focus/saving run repeat...

Akuma is also playable at FFA

AND

They are staying open 24/7 this whole weekend as long as ppl are playing...

No you had to type in a code in the service menu.

There are two codes so far, one for Akuma in arcade/story and the other one to play as him.

My friend and I went to PAX yesterday (Penny Arcade Expo), and weren't too impressed. Instead, we opted to go down to Tacoma, Washington to check out Street Fighter IV. I was there from about 8 pm-12 am, and got some good matches in. I decided to play it safe and used Ryu throughout the night. There was this one guy who had a nasty E. Honda, and another guy had a pretty good Sagat.

I haven't been to a US arcade in forever, and playing SFIV felt so nostalgic. It felt pretty good when I had a win streak going...it was reminiscent of the good old days when I used to be an arcade rat. Here I was thinking I was going to get my ass kicked the entire night, but I actually didn't do too bad. There were so many random scrubs; I totally wasn't expecting that. My first two victories were a bit anticlimactic 'cause people were whiffing shoryuken's and sticking out unsafe moves like whoa (this one guy kept doing random shoryuken's and trips. Free punish!)

Overall, I'm quite impressed with the game. It looks beautiful on the LCD screen, and I didn't have any problems executing moves. This was my biggest concern as the game was being handled by Dimps (although I hear the internal Capcom team has the final say on everything).

Also, this:

Ahh you jerk! I want to head down to Tacoma one of these day's and check it out, but its such a long drive. -_-

Heh, great tutorial. Perhaps I should send this link to my friend who's a SF n00b. :D

You wouldn't even believe the amount of people who kept jumping in last night -_-; NEVER jump in on Ryu...unless you want to get DPed or d+FPed every time. Come on, it's 2008...get with the times people!
