That's because the games that were on the list were supposed to remain at a $25 TIV, but some of them have since dropped. So it was supposed to be a $25 TIV per game and NOT a $50 guaranteed gift card.

Ohh, makes sense. I tried trading them in at Amazon about 2 weeks ago and was getting about $50 for both and they were declined for being "incorrect items" didn't make any sense since I checked to make sure they were the exact versions. Just sucks because now those prices dropped significantly. Thanks for the update.

I just found out the local store takes trade-ins... how anal are they about trading in-store? Traded once in the past, went flawlessly though it took a while, through the mail.

Just curious how the process goes vs Gamestop, for example.

Nice, Fallout New Vegas is showing back up at $25. Hell yeah.

So... I just packaged up a game, and sealed it... and I forgot to slip the shipping manifest in. (shows value/trade-in ID)

Is it required or not? Seems like they can look me up via name/address and find it under my account, but I'd rather be certain. First time I've forgotten to do this, but it's such a small amount of info/text, unlike Amazon. -.-

When the BB in-store trade-In process started it was terrible. I personally did it when it first started and it took like an hour for them to get me my gift card, not all the stores could do it (because some stores are not allowed to accept trade-ins of any kind without it being purchased at Best Buy, and I think some still are like that), and then you had to surrender a lot of personal info just to trade in a few games.

It's a big focus for the company this fiscal year, so they have stepped their game up in making it a lot faster and easier for the associates to do it, so it has gotten a lot better. Last time I traded in a few games last week, it took all of 10 minutes.

About time they brought the trade in to the BB around me.

New question, because Best Buy decided to use a hellishly confusing shipping label that includes two methods, and about 4 barcodes...

So uh... I mailed the package via USPS (apparently the same label can be used for UPS or USPS), and I notice there isn't really a tracking number on it (for USPS). Just a 'Parcel Select Return Service' number. I folded the shipping label over the UPS barcode so it hopefully wouldn't confuse the mail man, if it makes a difference.

But yeah, kind of weird. Anyone else do a BB mail-in trade lately and have anything to add?

Just a FYI, but you should not fold over the label to cover the UPS barcode.

The label is intended to have both USPS and UPS labels and barcode. It is know as a UPS Basic or Sure Post.

Just traded in Assassin's Creed II :360: for $15. I was about to try and post it for sale on Amazon Marketplace, but I would have gotten maybe $9-$10 if I went that route.

I really like Best Buy trade in. But you gotta do it in person. Sending it in takes forever.

fujimitsu - did that FNV have a upc code?

It did, and I'm assuming it's the same as the NTSC one. They scanned it and gave me the credit no questions asked.

This is ps3 by the way. Looked to be the normal release, still had the "do not sell before xx/xx/10" tape on it.

Never seen it before. I don't even think it was like that for the last BB trade I did...

Makes sense though. Think the USPS will return it to me since they can't really hand it off to UPS? (as far as I know)

Maybe I can get it back from them with a copy of the shipping label. *sigh*

Do all bestbuy take trade in for games now? Are they picky on scratched games or missing manuals?

Does anyone know if the trade-in limit of 3 applies to a specific game across all platforms or to a specific game on a single system? In other words, can you trade 3 copies of the same game on PS3 and then 3 of that same game on Xbox 360?

I never traded into BB before this is a good way as I have gamestop credit. What if you trade in on different accounts on same household?

I've sent in sealed ones before (as well as to amazon) and received redit with no problem. I wouldn't take in sealed ones to a store though....they might deny it like gamestop does.

The 3 game limit is per system, so you can trade in 3 copies of a PS3 version and 3 copies of the Xbox 360 version of a game. I have personally done this with Shaun White Skateboarding a couple of months ago.

Am I missing something here? Most of those games are way more than 25 trade in. Killzone 3 is 32, dragon age 2 is 38 and bulletstorm is 32. All are way higher than 25, doesn't seem like such a good deal that way.

But that's kind of useless when everything combined with each other will get you one for MORE than that.

AT LEAST means that is the minimum amount of money you will get.....you will get more if your credit is valued as such

It seems less of a "deal" and more of a "Get them in here thinking they will get 25 each for them and then blow their minds with our damn good trade in values"

So yes, I know what "at least" means, just isn't really a deal is what I'm saying lol

There are some location that requires a fingerprint. One time, I went to different best buy, and I shocked too that they requires fingerprint. They said eventually all best buy will have the fingerprint machine for trade ins.

I've got a simple question. Everyone here is talking about buying multiple copies of New Vegas at GameStop and flipping them here at Best Buy. Here's my question...is everyone referring to the new copy that is on sale for $19.99, or the pre-owned copy that you can get for $17.99. If you get $50 from Best Buy either way, it wouldn't make sense to buy new from GS.
