Nope FFXV and Kingdom Hearts 3 were never announced as PS4 exclusive. They announced FF14 as PS3 and PS4 console exclusive.

FFXV is officially a PS4 exclusive. They said it right in their conference. Rewatch it fool!

I still don't see this coming out for a couple years at least.
I hope we get more details at TGS '13. I think at least by 2014. They've been working on it for about 8 years or so. Kingdom Hearts 3 on the otherhand, they just started working on or only for a little bit.

In case this hasn't already been cleared up, both FFXV and KH3 are coming to Xbox One too according to ye olde Square Enix conference.
Updated the description. I don't know why Square does that. FFXIII titles have not sold that well on the Xbox 360. Maybe, that's why development has been taking so long.

I'm cautiously optimistic at a 2014 release but my money is on early 2015. All I hope is that this game is worth being a Final Fantasy game

Read that this game will have some third person shooter elements and that has me excited that they're trying new things with the franchise.  I wasn't too enthralled with what I saw at E3, but having seen the gameplay demo footage now I'm interested.

Awwwwww yeah!  Just locked in my preorder for the PS4 Ultimate Collectors Edition!!  Thank the gaming gods!  $270 is way steep for a game, but this is a freaking event.  Maybe I'll wise up and cancel, but for now, in this moment, after that awesome reveal earlier tonight, I am so damn stoked!!  :D/

I am debating ordering the CE but $270 is a lot but that Figure is easily $100 by itself lol. The deluxe edition is bad for $90 though so may just order it instead

Ordered the deluxe for now; the CE is way overpriced. You could buy an X1 with 3 games for that price these days.

This.

I'm pretty amazed at how they're going all in on the marketing for this game. Anime prequel series plus the hella expensive looking CG full-length movie. All of the trailers from last night looked great. I would have liked some more substantial info on the story, world, and characters they haven't already shown off, and less of that one host's "I don't even like FF so sell me on why I should care about this game" shtick.

Is it weird after watching a trailer that I'm dreaming up Grand Theft Chocobo shenanigans?

I'm actually looking forward to driving around the world in that car to harass other drivers, people in towns, and run over enemies. It apparently turns into a plane as well, so I'll be carpet bombing all of the above with meteor spells from the skies lol.

The hosts pretty annoying but I suppose that's the best you'll find in this sort of industry. At least they calmed down and seemed more comfortable toward the end. I am not sure how letsplays and over video commentary have gotten this popular with personalities like these, but that's been the product of this era.

I don't expect the movie to be good if Advent Children is any indication, but it should be some pretty fanservice at least. Still insane that it's even being made, let alone due out before the game this year.

I think it was a smart move to release it because the Duscae demo had me very concerned. The Platinum demo shows massive improvements to the combat controls and targeting.

But it looks like the framerate will be Dark Souls esque. That's rough. Maybe the rumours of a PS4.5 are true, because I can't see developers getting away with this much longer. Granted I'm used to it on consoles at this point, but still. The current tech is holding so many games back right now.

So I played the demo, not bad, didn't really like that it played like Kingdom Hearts and hope that is just for the demo.  I actually liked the controls of Duscae.

Also, the graphics looked considerably worse to me on this Platinum demo compared ot Duscae.  I booted it up right after and hope this isn't the look of the final graphics.

I am still excited for this game but not sure 100% of what to make of this demo and what is to come.

Sounds like it's worth trying then?

Haven't touched my PS4 in almost 3-4 months, outside of turning it on to download a PS+ game in Feb or something.
You can probably just power through it and it will take you only 15- 20 minutes. It took me longer to download than complete it. Plus you get an summon DLC when the full game comes out if you complete it.

I never really like to play a demo of a rpg game though because you can't really get the the real taste of the actual game or battle system. I really think with an rpg game you really have to invest a couple of hours into the story and gameplay to decide if it's really good or not for you. I just thought the battle system felt very different during the boss fight that it shows some promise.

The full game release would probably look like Duscae since they said that part is actually from the game and the demo part would not be in the game at all. I am guessing the graphic and frame rate issues are due to them just wanting to get something out quick for the fan for this event. So they probably didn't want to spend or invest that much time on the demo if none of it is really going to be a part of the main game.

Sounds plausible and I hope this is true! I played it again and I did like the control updates after going back to play Duscae again. Either way, this is a day one purchase for me!

I never played the demo from FF Type 0, but this demo sucked. But reading some of the comments, I get why. Wish they would have just given us a chunk of the real game instead (like they did for FF7, FF8, and FFXII)... something like this seems like it would turn off the average gamer who didn't really know much about the game. Controls were way too stiff, combat was repetitive and dull (actual game's combat looks way much fun).

Finally played the new demo and I really enjoyed it. It had that sense of whimsy that's part of what the series is; I didn't mind mostly playing as child Noctis or the platforming with the wooden blocks, etc. The environments are impressive and performance felt fine to me as far as frame rate, although the graphics seemed a little gauzy or blurry. I wish it looked sharper.

I think this game will be too much graphically for the PS4 and we'll notice that in the framerate. Is what it is, it's by no means terrible.

I swear some people are making this system look like the next Zone of the Enders. Looks incredible. If the boss fight was easily reloadable I'd definitely be on that and trying to hone my understanding of the system. Great to see the potential though.

Finally got around to playing the demo last night and I'm disappointed it did nothing to sell me on the game. It felt generic and amateurish to be blunt as far as demos go. I would have much rather, as a tech demo, the game just drop you on some random part of the world map with maybe a quest or two to complete and let you explore what the game has to offer. Following completely linear maps and small areas that scream FFXIII or Kingdom Hearts was not the way to pull fans back in.

I was hoping they had learned from mistakes but the demo seems to only repeat them. I don't care about the framerate or other technical issues: I wanted to be sucked in the way past FF games have and everything felt so empty and wooden like the children's building blocks that inhabit it. I still want to try the game because I feel this was just created to be a tech demo, but they really shot themselves in the foot I feel by putting out an embarrassing example of just how little has changed at SE.

Maybe it was about time we had our Final Fantasy.

That's pretty much exactly what Episode Duscae was. So they did do that... but behind a paywall.

Yeah. Seems backwards that the demo with very limited appeal and that doesn't capture what the actual game is going to be like is the public demo, and the demo that is a slice of the actual game and would have had way wider appeal is locked behind the purchase of Type-0 HD.

They should just release Episode Duscae 2.0 to everyone. I don't think the people who bought Type-0 a year ago would care at this point.

This really irks me. No, not the article but the missed opportunity they had with this demo to blow us all away. Why not instead showcase all these amazing locales? If even as a short video after the demo to get you hyped? It dawned on me just how bad of a disconnect this demo left me with versus a single article not even 500 words long. Those pictures and captions automatically had me interested and excited. Yes, I'm still miffed over a free demo but I think it's justified given this is a game NINE YEARS in development. If I had done nothing but played that demo, my chances of buying the game would be pretty bad. IDK who marketed the demo but they should be fired IMO.

Oh and this should have been in the demo, just saying.

I finally got to play the Platinum Demo and I loved it.  The combat was fun, the game looked purdy, music was great, controls were good.  I daresay, it 'felt' like Final Fantasy should.

Final Fantasy XV Has Gone Gold, Getting Online Multiplayer with DLC; Shows First DLC Art

“The main focus of the Season Pass is three original episodes that take place during the events of FINAL FANTASY XV. Each episode allows players to take control of one of Noctis’ comrades in all-new adventures that offer unique play styles tailored to each character. Players can explore previously unseen areas filled with new monsters, and even obtain weapons that can later be used in the main game. Episode Gladiolus is the first new character adventure to arrive, and will be followed by Episode Ignis and Episode Prompto. Each episode will be available for purchase individually.

Following the release of the character episodes, Comrades—an expansion pack for FINAL FANTASY XV—will introduce a brand-new online co-op mode for up to four players which features intense battles allowing players to take full control of Noctis, Gladio, Prompto and Ignis as a group. Comrades will be available for separate purchase, and is also included in the Season Pass.

This additional content and character episodes are managed by Haruyoshi Sawatari (Producer, Business Division 2) and overseen by FINAL FANTASY XV Director Hajime Tabata with development led by core members of the FINAL FANTASY XV team.”

The MP has me intrigued but not the rest. Hopefully BB doesn't cancel the $60 bundles including the season pass that were mispriced for half a day.

I don't think you have to worry about BB cancelling. The only time they ever cancelled anything related to price mistakes or glitches was when those $200 gift cards were selling for $15 last year.

Anyway, I'm surprised at the four player co-op mode. I wanted something like that for FFXV, but didn't think they would even consider it.
