I'm going to assume that relocating teams is a no-go, correct?

I am proud to announce the... London Panthers.... :D

It seems the issues you want to avoid are people dropping out mid-season and people gutting the team via trades/cuts. I don't think you have to worry about that with me, given that I stuck around with mediocre ability and mediocre Steelers teams for the last two full seasons and I have a tendency not to trade willy-nilly. Let me know how you want to handle my choice of a team I like (Texans) vs. the team I love (Packers). Thanks.

I agree. I know I don't have to worry about those things with you. However, I've still gotta keep the same policy for all of our "duplicate fans". The policy that seemed to be the most popular was just randomly distributing teams as sort of a compromise in allowing "non-fan teams" to participate. The idea behind fan teams in the first place was to ensure that people wouldn't be coming in trying to take the best team just because the only thing they care about is winning. If we stray from that too much, it's not going to make any difference.

Ha...yeah, that's a hard no. Honestly, I think most of the new "features" EA has added to online franchise are terrible. Custom playbooks and moving teams just scream "fuck the league over bad!!!" I'm pretty much just pretending they don't exist.

Moving teams could be fun, but in solo leagues. Say hello to the Brooklyn Giants!

All kidding aside, I wish Madden (or any sports game) would bring back the expansion feature.

i'm so glad both leagues are staying away from though features. something like that could really kill a league fast. plus custom playbooks just lead to tons of cheese.

Yeah, I mean, I think it might be neat to bring back some of the old teams or something. Like move Rams back to Los Angeles or whatever. But if we even thought about doing something like that, we'd have to have so many policies and proposals on it. It would just create one more thing for us to analyze. In a lot of ways, I miss the simplicity that the Madden 12 league had. Doing the practices and manually progressing your players just adds tedium and slows things down.

Yup. I can see the 3 TE streak/wildcat/full house/flea flicker/end around/read option offense right now. Has EA said if custom playbooks can be used in ranked games? That would probably be the final nail in the coffin for never playing that mode for me.

i think since ur going the fan route moving teams wouldn't really make sense for the whole fan league style ur going for. one cool idea could be though that what ever team u have u move them to you're hometown. like for example im a cowboys fan so if i would have had them i would move them to KC where I'm living. or if someone was a ravens fan but lived somewhere in like florida they could move them there. but i think moving teams for the most part would be annoying.

as for the custom playbooks in ranked matches i havent heard anything but i also havent really been researching all that much this year. but i think that would be a disaster completely. but custom playbooks in my mind are complete cheese and are used for people exploit the game. but i also consider myself to be a complete sim styled madden player maybe not in the trade aspect of things but in the playing style. i would take a nice fun clean game of madden over having to cheese to win any day.

ratings typically are released the week of or just after the demo drops.

That video shows Chance Warmack as an 84. As a rookie, that sounds pretty nice. Warmack + Levitre, in addition to Roos and Stewart (who were in the 90s...but we'll see what EA gives them this year) makes for a pretty stout oline. The real life Titans already saw the benefits of it. CJ broke off a 58 yd TD run last night against the Redskins.

Crazy push the offensive line got on that play. If he hadn't cut it back, he still probably would have gained 8-10 yards, lol.

He wasn't sure if he was getting the game. If he is...as a returning player, he'd get them.

I was Chiefs last season but ill take Seattle Seahawks this season if possible.

Seattle is my absolute favorite team, but I would take Tampa Bay as a second resort.

I'll put you in as the Patriots for now. We do have a member from last year who is a Patriots fan, but he wasn't sure if he was going to get the game right away. However, if he does, he would have seniority over you.

The other thing, as a new player, I really hope that you read the rules and policies for the league. This league is not the same as the Official Madden League and isn't meant for people who are beasts at Madden. That's not to say we don't have good players. But yeah...once you've played some people in the official league, you'll get what the difference is, lol.

EDIT - Also, we need your XBL gamertag.

Cool. I was wondering if you were going to get the game or not. Seattle is all yours.

Yeah I read the rules and understand them. I play fair and realistically. That's why this league sounds awesome. Also my gamertag is RevCottonMarcus.

I am not sure if anyone saw this yet, but the demo for Madden 25 is coming out tomorrow. It will have Ravens vs. 49ers and Seahawks vs. Packers. I also love how they are including a "new" feature in this years game which basically equates to the same mini-camp feature they have always had. That's Madden for ya.

Also, is anyone getting the Amazon collectors version of Madden 25? It includes a year pass to watching any game on your computer/tablet. It also has some Madden Ultimate Team stuff. I think that is the version I will get.

I'd just be careful about blackout rules if you're considering the Anniversary Edition. Though not nearly as bad as MLB, I think the NFL's rule is if you live within 75 miles of the stadium, you're subject to being blacked out. It's definitely a good deal if you're out of your favorite team's market though.

Looking forward to the demo tomorrow...though I'm also not expecting it to be too revealing. I went back and looked at the Madden 12 demo a couple months ago and the defensive assignment option (among other things) wasn't in that...even though they ended up having it in the full game. So, certain options being absent tomorrow won't necessarily mean anything.

Thanks for the warning! I am definetly within 75 miles of Bank of America Stadium. I honestly had no idea this was a thing. I usually watch the Panthers on my local Fox station, so blackouts aren't too much of a problem. Probably, I will have a computer playing with this and be watching the local game on the local stations at the same time. I am also hoping that this comes with the Redzone Channel online.

Yeah...blackouts are definitely a thing, haha. They're pretty much the bane of sports. The NFL's are at least reasonable though. And it used to only apply if the game wasn't sold out...though I'm not sure if these online subscription services have caused that rule to change. Honestly, I've never been affected by NFL blackouts, so maybe that speaks to their fan friendliness.

I've definitely been affected by MLB blackouts though. For MLB, it's done regionally...and the regions are huge.

So, you could live like 2 states away, and not be able to get your "local team's" network broadcast, but not be able to watch the game on MLB.tv either. In addition, Fox and ESPN have exclusivity to weekend games, which again renders MLB.tv useless. When I lived in NC, Orioles games would be blacked out all the time. So, whenever the Yankees would visit the Orioles, I couldn't watch on MLB.tv. Yup...I'm totally going to drive to Maryland to see the game, lol.

With the way technology is today, I honestly wish teams would just have their own subscription packages on their website to watch all games regardless of where you live. It would be a great alternative to having to subscribe to an all-inclusive league package or cable/satellite.

I had pre-ordered the collector's edition, but Sunday Ticket doesn't work on Kindle Fire. :-(

Oy...first impression cause for concern. I had to punt on my first possession after just screwing around with some plays. The CPU punt returner calls for a fair catch, so naturally, I make sure to pull up with my defender before crushing him. My CPU teammate, however, does not make that decision and runs straight into the punt returner, drawing a penalty. I'm hoping this was just a freak occurrence. But seriously, on my first damn possession, lol. What are the odds? Hopefully this isn't a Madden 12 thing where you have to manually take control of every player so they don't do something stupid on punts. I'll be interested to hear if anybody else runs into this.

EDIT - I can say, so far blocking is way better than last year. I'm seeing blockers actually seek out someone to block. If there's nobody immediately in front of them, they'll move on down field and find somebody. Running the ball is also more fluid with RBs able to cut better and not stumble into their own linemen. This should make a big difference to the running game. It's not really seeming to adversely affect the defense either. Just the blocks that should be made are made now. Hopefully that reduces those frustrating moments from Madden 13 where you would call the right play, but your blockers wouldn't do anything...so you'd get tackled by the one guy on that side of the field. If it places a greater emphasis on playcalling and outcoaching your opponent, I'm all for it.
