Frozen collectors edition 22.99$ pre order @amazon

i figured as much. disney hasnt done a musical type movie using pixars animation before and it seems like they found a winner here. disneys musials are usually top notch. thanks for the recommendation :)
Tangled!

but Tangled wasn't as much of a musical as Frozen is.

regardless, have this pre-ordered, thanks OP!

Holy shit they pushed this one out fast.  I can only see this being cheaper or the same price on release day though.

im weary about these disney movies being that low after release as we all know their pricing strategys. i dont do steel books which is why ill prob just do the amazon pre order

Nice catch, OP. I haven't seen Frozen yet, but I've heard nothing but great things. I really enjoyed Tangled, so I'm sure I will love this too. I agree, it's crazy how fast movies are releasing to home video now.

pretty much. and if it's the same price, why not?
Plus, if it's a low-production run steelbook, there might be resale value in the purchase.

Usually the steelbook has different cover art than the "regular" one, as well as it looking different than a regular Amaray case.

I'm always in for one when it's not much different in price than the regular release. It's even better when it's the same price, which is Target's usual tactic, as is Walmart. Best Buy, they do tend to surcharge for the steelbook, though not horrifically so.

Watched it this weekend. Easily the best new Disney IP in 20 years. It really was fantastic - from story to animation to the songs. I was actually contemplating seeing it again.

Thanks, OP. I'll probably jump on this. Seems to be a damn good price and I'll have some idea of what MovieStop and Best Buy are going to charge before it ships.

I think it's been at this price (or close) from December, though only recently did it get a release date.  Also, Disney is once again pulling shenanigans with their releases... this one doesn't seem to have a 3D version coming out in the US, which is why a bunch of people went with Zavvi (hopefully region free).

Here's the Zavvi link to the Frozen Steelbook. They are charging 25(British Pounds) for it. But that converts over to a higher rate in USD. I recall 29BP converted to 43-45 USD... frankly, if people want the Steelbook and 3D, go for it. I'll spend $23 and get the Blu/DVD/Digital...that is...if I should. I haven't bought any Disney releases since the VHS days have gone...I remember I still have my Disney animations in a box in the basement still.

this comes with the blu ray, dvd and hd digital versions of the film plus 150 disney points. imo its a great price

i never saw the film but it interests me, how is it ?
You and me both. My friend downloaded a DVD Screener from online for me. So I'm gonna watch it and see how it is. If it's really good, I'll think about getting this...

Actually, I started watching it. It's definitely good. And since the movie is Disney's biggest grossing 'original aka non-sequel' animated film of all time, and of all original animated films, I figure this one will be worth owning for the little ones when they come by.

Watched this in the theater, bought the soundtrack, and plan on catching it in a theater this weekend with family.  Idina Menzel is too damn good.

I guess this song has spoilers, but you kind of know what's coming going in to the movie-

I was actually at the D23 expo this past summer and Idina Menzel was there to perform this live (before anyone even knew the plot-line of the film), so it should be pretty safe spoiler-wise.

the whole soundtrack is spectacular though, Let It Go is still my favorite

Whoa, had no idea there is a possibility for a steel. If so, thats what I'll be picking up. And like others have said, this was a great movie. I go to the movies a lot and rarely do I go see something twice in theater but this one I did. Loved it. The soundtrack is fantastic, gets lots of play around the house. Our whole family saw it and loved it. Oh yeah and the Mickey Mouse short "Get a Horse" is awesome. That short alone makes me want to go out and get a 3D tv.

I do like Let It Go but I think Do you want to build a snowman is my favorite, along with In Summer, Love is an open door and For the first time in forever

There IS a Steelbook. It's a 3D Steelbook that Zavvi.com has. It's priced at 25 BP (British Pounds), which converts into the 35-40 USD range (I know 29BP is over 40-45 USD). So...YMMV.

I'm holding out to see what the retail version specials for this movie are. My wife absolutely adores this movie, and bugs me to go see it nearly every weekend. It's a great film, and that steelbook, if that's the one BB is getting, is gorgeous.

The only negative about this film, which isn't even a knock at the film, is I'm just getting sick and tired of people saying it's overrated. Damn hipsters hating everything.

BB doesn't have a Steelbook listed for it as of yet. It's why I referred to Zavvi.com for the steelbook (which seems to have 3D in it too).

The only negative I've heard about this movie, is the lack of a villain/supervillain. I haven't seen Brave either, but I think it falls under that kind of movie category.

I don't see why people care. I watch a lot of movies that tell a story and have no villains. There's a bunch of video games where people bitch that there's no conflict, Kingdom of Keflings jumps into mind immediately.

My daughter asked me if people are allowed to watch a movie more than once in the theaters.

I think people are just used to the Disney mold of there being a baddie or some other extremely negative obstacle for the hero / main character to overcome.

If that's the case, it should work out to under $35 with shipping to the States.
No. That's the advertised price, they have to include VAT in that price but we don't pay VAT. It would be as if you went to the store and sales tax was included in the price tag on every item.

Item(s) Subtotal: £15.00
Postage & Packing: £3.08
Total Before VAT: £18.08
VAT: £0.00
Total: £18.08
Grand Total: £18.08

Google claims it's 29.41.

If I order from the UK I'll probably go all out for the Zavvi SB. I just hope that Best Buy gets one instead and I'll wait for the inevitable double dip this holiday season.
So I take it that you haven't ordered yet? Zavvi is sold out of the steel book.

Then if that's the total price, I say why not?

Booouurns! Yeah, I just didn't want to buy a random thing as I'm trying to manage funds right now. I've never ordered from Zavvi and when I start it will likely be to start collecting all the Disney SBs and either replacing the discs with NA versions and/or refitting them additional disc holders. I guess I'll have to pay the ebay markup for Frozen if Best Buy doesn't get it.

Booouurns!
mmm yeees.?

I love this movie but I will wait for the release for maybe a cheaper price (hopefully). The only song that I really loved was Let it go and one other (first time in forever?). The others songs weren't really that great, imo. I couldn't help comparing the songs to classics like Aladdin, little mermaid, etc..

Think I'm just ordering this from Disney movie club. I'm surprised they only want $24.99 instead of the normal $29.99 they usually ask. And I need to make 2 more commitment titles.

I've been using this film for the past couple days in my English classes.  It's especially cool for my students because it doesn't come out in Japan until next month.  Everyone freaking loves it, even the Japanese teachers.  Definitely the best Disney film I've seen in ages.

My daughter loves this movie.  Don't these always eventually end up on sale for $15 at Target though?  I always wait a couple months after release.

Disney movies? If it's something recent that isn't being released from an older format, then it should be around a while...but since Disney also owns Marvel properties and Star Wars properties, they control the prices on those products now.

As I'm typing, Zavvi is accepting pre-orders for the Frozen 3D Steelbook. Paypal is currently down, or else I'd get it.

Are Zavvi DVDs and Blu-Rays all region 1? Just asking because it's the UK - I'd hate to purchase something from them and then not be able to enjoy the item.

Hope that wasn't a stupid question. Not entirely sure where Region 1 covers...just know the US is one of the places lol

With Dreamworks, Universal, and other animation houses, this might be true, but Disney is much different, particularly 3-D versions. The only deal I've seen on Disney CG/Pixar productions was Wal-Mart's offering of the non-3D version of Brave for $10 on Black Thanksgiving. The cheapest I've ever seen Disney/Pixar 3-D films at a major retailer was $22.99 and that was after trade-in during the last (ever) Upgrade and Save (though Amazon 3rd party sellers and sites like half.com sometimes offer New Sealed versions for close to that - I ordered the Five Disc Collector's Edition (3-D) Toy Story 3 and the Four Disc (3-D) Wreck-It Ralph for 23.99 each after shipping though for some odd reason they are often missing their slip cases). If you can wait until Thanksgiving, there's a good chance (but by no means guarantee) you'll get Frozen non 3-D cheaper, but if you expect it to be $15 at Target a month or two after release, you'll find yourself disappointed. If you want the 3-D version (through Zavvi or Amazon UK), that's probably the cheapest you'll find it for a long while, assuming they ever release a 3-D version on disc here.

Agreed. Disney is very particular about dropping prices on their products. I am still waiting for great prices on the MCU (marvel cinematic universe) movies so I can stock up on them, but now that Disney controls the prices...and for Star Wars...the odds of price drops are only if you go through a place like Amazon or Ebay's list of resellers.

That's probably why Iron Man 3 never went on sale anywhere during the entire Thanksgiving to New Years stretch.
