Seems to be the new price. I can't convince myself to pull the trigger even knowing they are easily hacked.

Definitely think it'll go down to $30 by end of summer, maybe $19.99 for Black Friday/holiday 2019 if they're still being produced... Personally want one but in absolutely no rush to get one until around that price

Sub $30 including the price of an AC adapter is still my "maybe" price point, but thank you anyway, OP

Remember that time at target we were price matching the website and using cartwheel to get it for like $36. Ah, good times.

Heck I'd take it for $20 without GCU!

Or better yet, I'd take a GCU sub without this!

This is hardware. Wouldn’t get a GCU discount anyway, would it?

I’ll stick with my PSTV for PS1 gaming.

I don't think the problem is them still being produced, but getting rid of the hundreds/thousands that are sitting on store shelves or in warehouses. Theyll eventually be clearanced at $20 for sure and then discontinued.

Walmart has them again for the same price, so I bought one for local in-store pickup. I enjoy messing around with devices like these for emu purposes, so I'll get a great sense of accomplishment from doing that.

And by emus, of course I meant those giant birds.

I cancelled my pre-order waiting for someone to hack it and get the process down to something simple. I picked it up at $39.99.

I love my PS Classic now that I installed AutoBleem. $39.99 is definitely worth it for me after I found out how easy it is.

Now I have all of my favorite games in tiny portable package that I can tote on vacations.

In fact, if it goes down to $20 like some of you have predicted, I may buy another one!

Also - Think of it this way. Another emulation solution is the Raspberry Pi which goes for $35 for just the bare board. This comes with TWO decent controllers and a cool case that looks like a mini-Playstation.

There is no GCU discount on the PS Classic.

That’s what I thought and wondered why someone would say $20 “with GCU”.

Will wait for $20. If it sells out before then, that's fine. I can already emulate on my desktop and use my DS4 to play games wirelessly on it, so my sole reason for interest is purely the novelty.

There’s a huge wall of these things at my local Best Buy. It flopped big time. Shouldn’t be much longer for $20.

It's definitely worth $40 if you're willing to hack it. When running games through Retroarch just be sure to turn off the bilinear filter and make sure you're using NTSC ISOs.

Because they're my demands for me to purchase one.

Love the title "IF ANYONE ACTUALLY WANTS ONE"...lol....

Sony must be regretting this failure every minute a retailer tries to flush the ps classic down the drain.

You'd have to pay me to even keep one in my home. Waste of space.

I still see walls of these at most retailers near me. This is going down to $20 for sure.

When that happens, I'll pick up one to store on my shelf.

I would say $15 is possible. They aren't moving at all even at $40. My store still has 140 and every store in the area has at least 50 with some as high as 170. ;)

I bought mine at $50

You can't beat how easy it is to just pop in a USB dongle and play games.

PLUS it comes with 2 ps1 controllers.

if they were both dual shocks it'd be perfect but it does the job well for pc emulators.

I put games i otherwise wouldn't play or forgotten about like the Capcom VS games with only 1 vs 1 battles.
