And played Grounded last night for the first time after the full release update and I got to admit, the cut scenes give the game a better sense of progression as opposed to merely getting an achievement or checking off something on the checklist. With that said, there's still some random jank to be found here and there (TWO damn wolf spider's just circling our base last night with one stuck on grass), but even then I think for an Obsidian game it's probably one of their most polished releases so I can't really complain.
Ai The Somian Files I only got one story path to complete tonight and then just do some achievement completion tomorrow before it leaves. Unless the "true ending" suddenly takes a massive dump, the writing on that game is crazy good. I Love when somehow a game is able to weave minor bits of information that you don't question until it leads to something big and man, this game does that good. This is one of those games I think I'll probably buy on multiple consoles just to experience it again a few years down the line and I hope whenever I get around to the sequel the writing and performances are at least half as good as the first.
This is the first month for GWG after dropping 360/OG Xbox games??? Go yourself MS.
At least Sony put in effort with their "freebies" after dropping PS3/Vita.
They might as well just kill Gold altogether (have free online play and let people keep all their GWG).
I just wish they would have added something to replace the games. 2 games + 2 small DLC items (Forza cars, Gears skins, etc.) or something like that. Make it a way to advertise first party and/or Game Pass content
You're describing Gamepass perks which already exist as their own thing.
Holding out ok in the hurricane, everyone else make it through? I know we have a few people in the path.

Anything would have been better than this for the first month without 360 gwg. I think it would have been interesting to offer a large discount for the whole month on one of their owned games to announce alongside the garbage freebies. Like Skyrim 90% off for the month of October to all Gold members. Yes it would be something we already have in GPU but gives another chance to own something outright for those that prefer to buy.
Haven't posted here in forever but still read all the posts. Used to do this every month but have fallen off for a bit. Here's some screen passes to use for my modest collection of 135 eligible titles. Sorry I don't have the discipline to make it more difficult for them to get snatched by asshole lurkers lol

.
Played a lot last night too, and have to say, I'm enjoying the bits that have changed: Cutscenes look great, additional dialogue between the kids. As you said, still some glitches going on, like the air bubbles rising out of the pond and into the air. Can't wait to explore the new area next to the shed though. Just finished the Hedge Lab last night
IT'S OFFICIAL! GAMING IS DEAD NEXT JANUARY! Stadia is shutting down!
Good. It was obvious it was never going to catch on as much as they'd like so shutdown was inevitable and the distribution model (full price for games that you do not have permission to locally download) was bad, especially when the service has an obviously limited shelf-life.
Probably always been this way, but I only see 1 month and 3 month options for Xbox Live Gold from Microsoft. Perhaps Gold finally going free (minus Games with Gold) in 2023.

It's been like that since July 2020 and there was speculation that it was going to go free. But really, they just want to make Game Pass Ultimate look like a bargain.
Sunday's daily qualifies for the 3rd chapter of the weekly challenge (win a drag race).
Despite it being the dry season, expect wet roads in the Street championships, except the Marathon. And maybe the trucks one.
Trial - Street - C600 Vans and Utility - Used the 1970 Chevrolet El Camino Super Sport 454 (340 751 971). Finished 2nd both races, team nearly swept the top spots, with a drivatar only coming in 4th in the first race. Bit tricky at the start of the Jungle Descent with a bit of a backup on the highway, then around the 2/3 mark when you start winding down the hill, it looked like a number of the people behind me weren't ready for that first turn in the wet conditions and overshot. Probably why a drivatar got ahead of them. Got the Duck and Weave accolade in the 2nd race for Threading the Needle in a Street race by going into oncoming traffic when the race shifted to the expressway.
Jungle Descent
Carretera Chase
??
Colina Danger Sign - S2 998 Anything Goes - 1,699.5 feet (3 stars is 1,550) - Topped 1,830 with the 2020 Koenigsegg Jesko (171 356 165) starting from the Fuera Del Camino Trail icon. Hit the ramp a little under 220 (speed was dropping going up the hill).
Los Árboles Speed Trap - S2 998 Anything Goes - 170mph (3 stars is 140) - Hit 186.4 with the Jesko starting from the curve south of the trap, coming down hill.
The Marathon - S1 900 Modern Supercars - Used the 2009 Ferrari 458 Italia (996 724 742). Had built up a pretty big lead up to about the 40% or so mark when you make a 90 degree right near the festival. Some rubber banding then closed the gap a bit, but no real threat. Some more banding in the 60s, but after 80% a couple started getting real close. Had one right on my tail for the very end, had to shift around a bit to block them out.
Street Endurance - A800 Modern Sports Cars - No problems in the 2008 BMW Z4 M Coupe (434 156 224). Reward is the weekly challenge car.
Highland Climb
Las Afueras
Horizon Callejera
Cruce Del Valle
Costa Rocosa
On the Move - A800 Trucks - Used the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U5023 (589 202 327, reward from playground games). Still has offroad tires from the last time I used it. Not a pretty championship, lot of bumping, but won all 3. Also an accolade for winning a Street race in a Truck.
Cañón Run
Wetland Charge
Bosque Del Sur
Retro Street - C600 Retro Hot Hatch - No problems in the 1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo (371 392 178). Reward is the photo challenge car.
Tunnel Run
Hilltop Descent
Guanajuato Sur
Treasure Hunt
Spoiler
Win a Street race in a Super Hot Hatch.
Chest location
Spoiler
Outside the east entrance to the Street Scene Outpost.
Photo challenge - No problems registering. Car is the reward for the Retro Street championship. Location also completes today's daily challenge.
Hot Wheels
Frozen Rush Speed Zone - S2 998 Anything Goes - 170mph (3 stars is 145) - Hit 220 in the 2019 Rimac Concept Two (131 655 301) starting on the long straight north of the zone.
Paint the Streets Orange - Speed - S2 998 Hypercars - 3 laughers in the Rimac.

During one of the timelines I was thinking to myself "This is some Kojima as hell stuff here". Literally 1 scene later there's a "director Kojima" joke.
The game is $8 on PS pretty frequently.
I'll probably start playing Zero Escape next while I'm in the mood.

Not the least bit shocked it's being shut down. What is slightly shocking is that fact it will have lasted around 3 plus years. Thankfully I only spent about $25 on two games (GRID Ultimate and AC Valhalla) and had a brief sub to Stadia Pro. Got a Stadia Premier edition last year for $22.22 (2 yeaar anniversary price). Never bothered setting it up to try it out. If my Roku Express quits I'll have the Chromecast Ultra for backup, lol.
Edit: While looking up articles, one title caught my attention. It said Stadia employees learned about the shutdown minutes before it was made public. https://9to5google.c...eting-harrison/

I did read that they are refunded everything: hardware, software, accessories, everything! So you can get all of that hard spent money back
I feel they should then just get rid of Xbox Live Gold if they want to full stop on GP
They need Game Pass subscriber base to hit a certain threshold before they make online multiplayer free. The first party day one releases are the key selling point of Game Pass. They need a year of 4-5 highly acclaimed first party releases to convince people Game Pass is worth having over free multiplayer.

Sweet, I had only read about software purchases being refunded. Hopefully they'll enable bluetooth for the controller so it can be used on other platforms and devices. A 9to5google says that it does have bluetooth support built in and they suggested that Google should enable it since Stadia is biting the dust.
