What are you guys watching for on Black Friday this year? I am on the hunt for 2 more PS5 Controllers. Xbox wise I'll probably just stock up on credit for when games I want come out next year. If Costco has that $80 for $100 of Xbox credit ill stock up on that. I still have the $110 from the Dell deal sitting on my account at the moment. Saving that for the Black Friday digital sale that starts next week.

Gotham Knights $30 and Tales of Arise for $20.

 

So many retailers had GOW PS5 bundles in stock I caved and got one, so looking for Ghost of Sushi or Miles Morales to be on sale.

I'm watching sales for storage. Finishing this PC build(i5-13400K, z690, Arc A750) I'm watching for cheap SSDs. Waiting for under $50/TB for SATA/Gen3 drives. Hoping for a high-tier PS5 drive around $100 but I wouldn't mind the SN770 the PC is running on to simply go cheaper.

 

I did end my fighting game controller search. I bought a Junkfood Arcades Snackbox Micro from ebay. It has LEDs and Noir layout, and the one I bought came with the art case. No more custom, just going to do this for SF6. Picture from google, but a good example.

So instead of a joystick for the left hand, it has a curved layout of four buttons?  That seems so foreign to me.

You probably already tried this but delete the game, log out of the series X and do the hard reboot (not sleep) then log back in and redownload it.

I tried that a few times. Hotline Miami loads the press any button screen with the boombox on it, i hit a button it goes to game select screen then in seconds it fades to black and dumps back to the dashboard. Tried installing on internal, expansion and external all times get me the same result.

Sounds terrible. Did you try clearing the system cache or  resetting the console?  Resetting is a bit of a pain to do since you have to update all your games again, but sometimes that fixes strange errors like you are seeing.

I think someone may have already suggested you try this, but worth a shot again.

Like I said this is a last resort option for me since it will make you have to update alll your games again which if you have a lot installed can be a pain. You will also lose history from system apps like Network settings.

 

 

 

I had weird issues with my Xbox One X years ago and resetting the console made it perform like new for me.

If anyone is in the fence about Signalis, Just play it already. I got about 40 minutes in last night and it's fucking awesome. Recommend playing with a nice set of headphones if possible, the sound design is really great and adds a lot to it, which you might not expect for a retro throwback game.

I ended up buying a Samsung 970 Evo Plus for $190 along with a gift card and rewards points at Best Buy. It's still $200, It seems they want to clear out the Gen 3 M2s so that people will actually buy the Gen 4s.

Now we just need a hardware revision for the Series X that utilizes standard M2 drives.

I won't have the words to explain it better than glancing through that. I know I would often miss diagonals through simple inaccuracy that this changes the burden of execution.

I just spent the night playing Vampire Survivors, something clicked and I unlocked a bunch of things including stages 2 and 3. Many achievements. My best run so far was with knife guy, I felt like an R-Type ship churning out death as long as I moved in a direction.

I can't see buying a drive before the holiday weekend itself, prices will only go down.

Anyone have issues with downloading? I upgraded my modem and router today to take full advantage of my speeds. Did a test on the Xbox and it said 1162 Mbps so I was stoked. Started an update on Flight Simulator and it was at 300 Mbps for about 1 minute and now it dropped back to my old speeds and in some cases even worse. I did not spend $250 to have the same crap as before.

I can’t say that this is your issue, but if I have any quick resume games open at all it kills my download speeds.

In my experience, speeds vary significantly based on what you're doing, time of day if your ISP is throttling things, etc. Downloading on PC through the Game Pass app, for example, speeds can be abysmal (but not always), but if you initiate through the MS Store app in Windows, they're better.

 

The servers for Flight Simulator might have a cap since the game requires data streaming in an effort to accommodate multiple users.

 

However, it might be an in-game setting too to prevent the game from destroying bandwidth for people with data caps:

I got it about a year ago I think, and I love not having to worry so much about space. These Series X games are so large that with all my kids installing stuff, we were constantly running out of space. I have the 2TB drive plugged in and then another 4TB External Drive for Xbox 360 games and an 8TB External Drive for Xbox One games. I rarely have to delete anything.

I thought the code was for PS4 and PS5.  My guess is you'll be seeing a fair amount of them hit the market within the next few weeks around $40-50.  Sony oddly went heavy on digital with this release - system bundles, the Jotnar edition, etc. were all digital codes instead of physical.

EDIT: I went from 44 -> 57 in the last round. But thankfully there's no Top 50 prize pool for me to be disappointed about  

 

EDIT 2: Last year I only made it to top 250 so I'm pretty proud that I was able to get to Top 100 by the 7th round. I thought there were eliminations but apparently not. I joined 17 minutes after the start time and I got SUPER lucky that the questions didn't start yet.
