Might be the first time in a long time I pick up a couple physical games with Sonic Frontier $30 at Walmart on Monday and Stranger of Paradise $30 at Best Buy. Feel like it's a risk on both of those games and at least I might get a few bucks back if I bail on them. There isn't really anything else out there grabbing me, even on other quiet years I had a Jedi Fallen Order or a Control. Still have Calisto Protocol out there, seems like were so close it's not going to hit a delay...

I finished the Deer Simulator game, mostly out of spite by the end.  I played Fight Club on Xbox afterwards as a palate cleanser.

It means you have to get a code from someone who is there. You can’t just change the region on your console and buy it yourself. That’s why there’s been so much chatter lately about whether MS was allowing gift code purchases in Argentina anymore or not. People have been trying to figure out if this loophole is still open or not

Stanger of Paradise is better if you have someone to play with.  It's a mindless hack n slash with super cheesy characters.  When you beat the game and/if you try the DLC, you need a good built and a ton of grind to get anywhere.  There isn't much to it before the endgame.  I had fun with it though.

Sonic Frontiers is much better than the reviews IMO. Easily my favorite 3D Sonic. I’ve been having a blast with it. Don’t think it’s much of a risk to me.

Callisto Protocol is already Gold so there definitely won’t be a delay.

I decided to just force myself to 100% it today and God, that game makes me feel like Luke Wilson in Idiocracy when he went to go see a screening of "ASS The Movie" except I feel more angry than I do confused.

Callisto Protocol is already Gold so there definitely won’t be a delay.

A guest host on What's Good Games spoke highly of Sonic Frontiers, basically said that on a technical level, it's a 3/5, but in terms of fun, it was a 5/5. I'll probably play it eventually.

 

Also - about two weeks ago, Callisto Protocol had a 10% preorder discount on XBL, but no longer does. $62 combined with rewards redemption sounded pretty good to me, but the discount is no longer showing.

I Decided to try the Playstation Loyalty program thing this weekend. Goddamn. That thing fucking sucks. When friggin Nintendo's program actually makes more sense and has better benefits and isn't accessible via only a fucking app (despite only way to earn...whatever their point based system is, is by using their console) then you should rethink everything.

I bought it at Target and just priced match Amazon to get it for $29. "Best 3d Sonic" is not a high bar to hurdle though. The technical issues seem to be a real issue and I am hoping those can get resolved with a patch soon. For $29 it is worth me playing and finding out if it is fun or not though.

Seconded. It’s repetitive, the pop-in is crazy, and the controls are sometimes frustrating, but the loop (pun sorta intended) is addictive and finding new ways to bounce around and above these islands is fun. Probably helps that I haven’t played a Sonic game in years, so even the “stale” parts feel fresh enough.

(As far as I’ve experienced, the “technical hiccups” are pop-in. As long as you play on a Series X or PS5 everything else looks and runs great.)
