i am trying to figure out how to unlock certain evolves and having no luck. I think I need to look up a guide as I now have almost enough gold to unlock every powerup just from trying to narrow down my evolve options lol.

That would be one way to go.  I've had just as much fun going into each run blind and having no idea what combos are needed for the weapon evolves.  

 

Either way works.  I'm still loving the game and glad that I picked it up on Steam during early access.  Worth every cent.

yeah i have concluded that the remaining evolves require something i am missing or some sort of combo i am not aware of

It's a regular Black Friday miracle at the GGP household. Wife and I are both getting raises by the end of the year, I found a Herman Miller Aeron on Craigslist for about 1/3 MSRP (thanks all for the suggestions) and I can splurge a little on some gaming stuff. Game Pass really has ruined by desire to buy Xbox games, though, that spending is just going into Switch and now Steam deals.

 

What are the odds that Design Lab gets a BF discount? I know they've done something small like $10 off in the past but can't remember if it's a regular thing.

Ditto on games, just bought The Forest last night to play with the wife on Steam because nothing has grabbed our attention on Xbox (where the is the sale on the Lego SW season 2 character pack ). Heavily debating Disco Elysium because it never hit Game Pass and is $10 on Steam but a little gun-shy after Pentiment fell flat for me.

 

Design Lab might be part of that Instagram sale, but no clue since people have just been raving about the cheap consoles/controllers. 20% off would be legit I think.

BDK is right. The only reason not to buy it, esp with the $10 rewards you have, is because you can't afford to get hooked on it and stay up wayyyy too late on that one-more-run gameplay loop.

 

Hades balances the rogue-light action with accessibility where it doesn't feel too punitive and you have a real sense of progression. The story, art, etc. enhance it even more, since even if you don't advance your character much, the story progresses when you inevitably die and keeps things interesting.

It's actually quite surprising that this was a children's show in the 90s.

Ren and Stimpy and Animaniacs were the two cartoons that definitely treated 90s kids differently. Animaniacs frequently poked fun at current events with jokes you’d probably have to think twice about. Meanwhile, Ren and Stimpy was just… well… Ren and Stimpy batshit weird.

The Witcher 3 stream makes the next gen version look pretty sweet, especially by free upgrade standards. The new content sounds pretty limited, a quest that gets you Witcher TV items and some cosmetics, as well as a photo mode. Maybe some surprise stuff as they hunted but it's hard to guess at that.

But they added basically every quality of life gameplay/UI change possible, and they're all optional. Better gameplay camera angles, big controller improvements for magic and movement, map toggles so there aren't a thousand ? icons at all times, readable subtitles, and more.

They integrated mods to some degree. In the stream it mostly sounded like texture and model improvements but who knows.

The only series I could see some kind of argument for here would be Mortal Kombat, and only if the game was a full blown live service, not as normal paid DLC in a retail game. They did sell those horrible "easy Fatality" tokens, but at least nothing was actually locked behind that.

Krafton is used to milking microtransactions and presumably these devs know how detrimental actual meaningful gameplay tied to DLC hurt Dead Space 3. Even in DS1 and 2 those paid armors totally break the balance of the game.

Ok true about Mortal Kombat but as far as DS3 goes, EA incorporating micro transactions and trying to get away from survival horror like they did was the death knell for that game.

Re: Vampire Survivors, if you're wondering why it is so addicting, it's because it was designed by a veteran developer of casino software, exploiting the same principles.
I find it ironic that casino game mechanics were employed in service of one of the best value per $ games, but maybe this is the dev attempting to atone for past sins.
