Realized today that Vampire Survivors is on xCloud with touch controls. Considering you really just use the thumb stick, it’s great to play on phones. I probably shouldn’t have discovered this lol

Might've been the Wi-Fi at my parents, but it was a bit laggy when I tried playing it on my phone.  Oddly, it doesn't appear to support touch controls on tablets.

It's been my experience that it is just laggy on a phone. Robust internet connection or not, especially when changing directions.

I'm thinking you mean GPU. If you currently have/had GPU, make sure it is expired. Then get 36 months of Gold, Gamepass, or a combination of both and then upgrade to GPU for $14.99 and you'll have 36 months of GPU.

I grabbed a cheap Lenovo M8 tablet at Wa;mart last week and it supports touch control on there. It's just a basic Android tablet. As everyone has said though a bit of lag and the onscreen touch d-pad was less than ideal. Once in awhile in Vampire Survivors you actually need to make a couple moves

We're going to have to move past this at some point. What is it to load up for 36 months? I paid Sony $75 for a year of mid-tier and am happy enough with that. I know I saw 3months for $25, so $100/year. Is there better?

Thanks, yeah I got enough 20% off Xbox credit from Dollar General, so basically same thing.  Just figured MS store would reduce the extended warranty like they have done previously, I will just continue to wait and see what happens.

When I started grad school, I wasn't working and was trying to build a safety net in my savings. Sold some old games (mostly Gamecube stuff which I now regret because those games are worth 3x what I sold them for). I have a CIB Gameboy Micro I was trying to sell and got the most obnoxious person trying to buy it. Grab some popcorn.

Asking price was $140 which at the time was a deal but not a mega deal. Dude lived two hours away and wanted me to meet him halfway between towns. I told him sure, but I'd ask for $150 instead, which he thought was totally unreasonable and said something like "I'm not filling your gas tank just for a quick trip." I replied with the cost of gas and the mileage, did the math and said $10 was actually the exact price of the trip in my car, which gets about 30mpg. He conceded it was reasonable.

 

I said okay great, suggested we meet in the large cafe area in a Whole Foods. I usually go for places like that because they're super public, you don't have to buy anything to sit there for 20-30 minutes, both parties can sit down, inspect the item, count the cash if paying with cash, etc. I usually bring a friend too since meeting up with strangers from the internet can unfortunately be dangerous for women.

 

Dude doesn't like the idea and wants to meet in the parking lot at a Best Buy. I tell him no, I'm not comfortable doing that, I'd like to meet inside somewhere we can sit down. He says something like "no way, I'm not having lunch with you I'm just buying the Gameboy." No shit, Sherlock. If I was buying a vintage CIB game, I'd want to handle it, make sure it's in the advertised condition, etc. and he's acting like it's a drug deal.

 

Then he suggests we do the hand-off inside of Best Buy. I tell him that's definitely against store policy to do private exchanges inside a business, Best Buy sells video games and when they ask for a receipt, what happens then? He suggests the parking lot again. I ghosted. He may have just been dense but people who try to dictate things when the suggestions are reasonable are giant red flags. Insisting on a less public place for anything over $100 seemed sketchy as hell, and like a good way to get robbed, kidnapped, or worse.

 

I hadn't had any other hits or else I wouldn't have tried to negotiate so long. The gas thing was worked out quickly enough I figured we were on our way to a sale. Instead I never sold it and now it's worth $300.

His losing out on the item is your gain for sure. Somebody out there was looking out for you on that one. Should a potential buyer keep trying to change the terms we agreed on initially (price, meeting place, etc) I'm ghosting them. I agree it's better to be safe than sorry.
