Random but for those looking to replay Dead Space 1 on Impossible, I just noticed that Game Pass Ultimate Perks added a second Dead Space DLC/upgrade bundle, which includes the Tank Suit that gives you 60% damage resistance.

Dammit, this would've been nice to have when I was replaying the game last November. Impossible is actually not too bad but this would've saved me lots of deaths  :bomb:

New Xbox Series X Forza Horizon bundle. Soooo creative! They really outdid themselves with the design.

Setting up my new Series X right now, and two things I did not expect:

What an absolute unit this thing is. I totally get the Kingpin jokes now

Also, my 8 year old saying “we don’t need another Xbox!” My wife is more on board with this purchase than he is.

Check and see if they switched bodies. It's a new year, you never know what might have happened.

I tried cloud gaming on a Samsung TV today in the Microsoft booth at CES. The guy told me how far cloud gaming has come. There was a dualsense controller next to the Xbox controller so I tried the Dual sense controller and it wasn't connecting so the guys like just use the Xbox controller.

I chose FH5 and after waiting about a minute for it to load up, I got into the game and it was immediately horrible. Controls were laggy. Graphics weren't loading. Pixelation was on the right top of the screen and frame rate was all over the place. I only played for a minute before I gave up.

If this is how far cloud gaming has come, it still has a long why to go. I've used cloud gaming a couple of times on my Series X and it was a much better experience. Maybe it was just some kind of crappy connection or something is wrong with Forza Horizon 5 because there were other games to try but I didn't even bother. I could always try different games tomorrow if any of you are curious.

Checked my achievements list and apparently I did this in 2017 along with only using the Plasma Cutter.

Such a good game.

Look under YNSJ seller. I think on that other forum where they discuss these out of country purchases, they believe that sellers only have x number of codes. I’ve had my xbox account for 19years now, so I have no plans to use these sort of codes. It was very painful when I redeemed that contest win from Bloomy. He provided me a code for the Bioshock Collection (I finished them all - thanks again) and boy was it a pain to redeem. I am in Canada and that was a US based code. I did chat with Microsoft about it and the code magically worked (it initially would not redeem saying it was not for my region blah blah) after a number (3 times?) of support chat sessions.

I was just looking at my Wishlist. I have Cuphead and Cult of the Lamb. I believe Cuphead is never on sale for more than 10-15% off.

I also have Hot Wheels on my Wishlist. We all recall this was announced for gamepass but got pulled. I don’t see it being mentioned again anywhere. Anyone seen any updates on that?

Reallly enjoying the Vampire Survivors. I even bought the DLC. It’s such a great game that works so well on the mobile streaming app.

So, did it again. Purchased an extra copy of Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX (Arg). If anyone is interested like the post and I'll random it on Saturday.

Also grabbed RPG Time and Kaiju Wars based on a PC Gamer articles about hidden gems in the Steam sale. They looked pretty neat, maybe one day I'll even play them.

It’s really improved since it first launched. I bet they had a wifi connection since all tvs now have wifi. They should know to use a Ethernet setup to impress everyone.

In my experience, xCloud (or whatever they call it now) is the definition of "results may vary." I have tried it on multiple platforms (Xbox, Mac, PC, iPhone, iPad) in multiple locations with multiple qualities of Internet connection. There is no rhyme or reason as to what level of performance I get. I've had everything from games never loading or being completely unplayable to almost imperceptible from local play. I guess that's why it's still technically in beta. I'm old enough that I'm still amazed it works at all, and that it can be absolutely playable at best. But if this is the future MS wants, and my hunch is it is, they still have quite a way to go before it's ready for the mainstream.

Cloud gaming is great when I'm watching something only half way interesting on TV and can play something half heartedly on my phone at the same time. Still doesn't replace playing bigger games on the TV, but I see no need to ever play crappy mobile games on my phone when I can play random gamepass Xbox games on it.

I'm just glad these advances in tech never came around when I was younger. I feel fairly certain I would have never graduated college if I could have played Halo on my phone while sitting in class lol.

I’d rather a play a mobile game on my phone and console game on my TV or monitor. There’s something to be said for playing games on the device they were designed for.

Had pretty good luck with Xbox Cloud gaming. Allows me to play Series S/X games on the X1X albeit at 1080 which is fine until they come out with a slim Series I can buy.

Was able to 100% the Medium and currently working on Serious Sam 4 (don't ask me why).

While I think it's cool to stream games to a phone it's just not a use case for me.

Impossible in the first game was really manageable. In fact, it's a lot easier if you only use the plasma cutter, because all of your upgrades and resources can go into that one weapon instead of spreading them out. You can also sell all the ammo you find for other weapons which makes health not that hard to come by. I think it's a great balance for survival horror since it's so easy to die but not unreasonably difficult.

Compared to the sequel, where the hardest difficulty has literally no save points. I love a challenge and I am a bit of a masochist, but that is fucking ridiculous.

Does quick resume work between series consoles? I just started a game I had last played on my other console and it put me right where I stopped...

Saves in the cloud are a thing but I don't think a game will just instantly load (which is more what quick resume is about) between consoles.

It took me like a month to get through DS2 on that mode. By the time I finished and got the foam finger, I was done with that game lol.

Impossible w/just plasma cutter was vastly more enjoyable.

I couldn't find anything online about it. I was playing Snowrunner on my new Series S and when I pulled it up on my X a few days later it asked me something about resume here and it seemed to be exactly where I left off on my S...I know the game saves everywhere often but what really threw me was that it booted right into the game - it didn't boot up through the main game start like when I normally which between titles on systems or cloud.

The PC game needs to be Xbox Live enabled, which is why Solitaire works. The quest doesn't pop immediately. I've noticed there's a bit of a delay before it actually pops, like a few minutes. Not sure if using the Steam versions of Microsoft titles (Halo Infinite, FH5, Flight Sim, etc) work but I think it should since you're forced to log into Xbox Live on them.

I don't believe cloud streaming works because you're streaming the console version of the game.

Thank you for the thorough answer. I wound up opening solitaire and letting it run. It took waaaaay longer for the quest to pop than I was giving it.

Not actually true I don't think. I've gotten the quest multiple times with Marvel Puzzle Quest on Steam. Live might make it pop sooner but it isn't required.
