I Liked Fallen Order as well and it kinda cemented to me that I have no patience for Souls type experiences (though I'll get Elden Ring when it's on the cheap) because once I bumped it down to easy mid way through the game I had much more fun not getting wrecked by giant spiders. Also I welcome any Star Wars anything that doesn't rely heavily on old trilogy characters to make me care. Like I'm fine with things like looming threat of the Empire, but I don't need a story that takes place across a whole galaxy, but straight up centers back to here's Luke, Leia or Han for no reason other then to just punch me in the ribs as subtly as possible to say "Hey, in case you forgot, this is a STAR WARS GAME."

I wanted to like this game but knew it wasn't for me.  I almost bought it several times.   I played about an hour and deleted it.  Frustrating platforming is just not for me.  I couldn't figure out where it expected me to go and decided if I can't even make it past the opening without looking it up its just not for me.  It kept telling me to pull the left stick but that didn't seem to be the answer.   Also I want to play as a character I have heard of not some made up Jedi.  I played Battlefront on PS4 with a friend for a bit but never got into it either.  
 
Other then one of the lego Star Wars games I haven't really liked Star Wars games.   
 
Fallen order is free over on PS+ if anyone has that and wants to give it a try for themselves.

I agree the platforming was annoying as was the overly complicated levels. If you want me to go all over the place in a level give me a decent way to follow.  The 3D Map  reminded me of Metroid Prime.  I always have trouble figuring out where I am supposed to go with 3D maps. What I really did not like was this "Jedi" has trouble dispatching storm troopers! Every fight becomes a tactical sword fight which is cool occasionally not the whole game though. Come on man storm troopers should all be light saber fodder or force thrown to their deaths lol.  

 

My favorite star wars action games are still the 2 Force Unleashed games that were released in 2008 and 2010. They are still fun to play in my opinion.  The rogue Squadron games on Gamecube/N64 are also a lot of fun. Heck even shadows of the Empire on N64 is more fun to me than Jedi Fallen Order.  I finished Shadows of the Empire back in the day.  That's  probably related to the fact that it was one of the few games available when the N64 launched and it was the first 3D star wars action game on a console.

I liked it enough that I'm looking forward to the sequel eventually being on EA Play/GamePass. Some of the platforming was a bit annoying. The slide sections can eat me. Otherwise a good Souls-like.

Wouldn't say it's worse than a clunky N64 game, though. And I played and replayed SotE a million times back in the day.

Saying Shadows of the Empire is more fun than Fallen Order is a heavy case of nostalgia goggles. The gameplay in that does NOT hold up now even compared to other old Star Wars games like Podracer or Dark Forces.

So... I've been putting off playing Fallen Order for a very long time.  Started today, and this game is beautiful on the series X

Shadows had the good Hoth level for that time, Rogue Squadron surpassed it. Swoop bike level was pretty good also.

With that being said, I totally enjoyed Fallen Order. Once you start getting stims, more health/ force, and force powers back, you really start to feel like a Jedi would and start blowing through Stormtroopers.

On a totally different note, did anyone else get a notification this past week that mentioned Shadow Warrior 3? I haven't seen it for console or PC so I wonder if it was a mistake?

Shadow Warrior 3 notification was premature, which is why some outlets are speculating it will come to Game Pass "soon". Maybe we'll hear something this Tuesday.

Shadows of the Empire I never finished because I only had it as a rental and was brutal for anyone without some meta of upcoming bosses. I played it recently on my modded A1UP cab, albeit a slideshow at times lol. Fallen Order I never finished because the game defeated me with boredom. It leaned far more into the GoW approach for level design, which is outdated by Elden Ring standards.

 

Finished Chained Echoes yesterday and I honestly haven't played a 16-bit game that good since the 90's. Almost 100% it but of course one of the achievements is to read every lore book in the game and there's no way to track that so IDK if I'll bother. The only thing I wish I'd known, or was explained better, is the crystal system because I only really started to dabble in it late game since they're essentially destroyed/downgraded when removed from an item. That and mechanics/stats/status effects you kind of need to figure out on your own what they do, such as magic attacks (even though Lenne is technically infusing her spear with magic. . .) can't crit without an accessory (I literally found this out right before the end boss). Great use of my second Life Thread acc for a while on her. . .

 

I'll probably buy it on sale later down the road and would definitely play a sequel that's likely in the works.

PC and mobile only, but I'm sure controller adapters will probably update to use it as well. Like I said, solid controller for those who got it for free and I'll take any extra use for it.

Lapsed NFL/Jags fan that has been slightly glancing with the wrestling connection, Dynamite gonna be even crazier now. I nearly did a spit take when I saw the final score after laughing at halftime memes.

 

The map in Fallen Order and getting back out from objectives are my complaint and why I haven't replayed yet. I finally got a real video card in a 3070 (I'll finally play Cyberpunk now that I can play it with RT on Psycho at 90fps) and I think I'll reinstall to see how good it can look. Dying Light 2 cranked looks damn good and way different from base. I wish the EA app wasn't allergic to VPNs.

 

I got Stadia free and have been getting good use of the Chromecast 4k, I might actually use the controller as Bluetooth. Maybe to take to work and play on lunch since I won't care if anything happens.

Shadows Of The Empire... Now, that's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time.

SotE was a real highlight back in the day, but I thought Fallen Order was phenomenal once I dropped the difficulty down and could start enjoying the exploration without stumbling into combat.

And I started watching The Last of Us and it's weird watching a video game adaptation being given a big budget and care. Like no dumb stupid slow motion and green screen and calling it good, but actual care. Almost as if the people doing it didn't know this was based on a video game.
